Survivor: Winners at War Finale

Something that I will wonder about in the future is the future airdates of Survivor. In a normal year, they would have already filmed the next season. I don’t know yet if the normal fall season will happen like it normally would at some point. I’ll see what the announced schedule will be in the future and if they end up being able to stick with it in the long run. I’ll do an announcement more at the end of this blog post about what the future of this blog will hold in the near future.

Something else I wonder as we go into the finale is this: could the winner be on the edge of extinction? I wouldn’t think so, but I didn’t think that last time except for the part when Rick was on the edge. At one point, Rob and then Adam had the highest confessional count of those in the game. I would think that it is possible, but unlikely that a voted out player would win the game this time around. Maybe it could happen, but I don’t currently see it. As for who would return, Rob seems the most likely guess for me right now even if Adam and Jeremy have more confessionals. If it isn’t one of those three, then I doubt that they will make it to the end.

Last time they did the edge of extinction, they didn’t do it as well due to all the crazy ways that they did the advantages. I think that the fire tokens improved the edge of extinction, but I wouldn’t want to see them normally in a season without it. They get too close to making it like bribes which are against the very rules of Survivor itself.

Due to the strange way that the reunion show will be done this year, I will not be doing points at the reunion show that I have often done in previous seasons. It doesn’t make sense to do them this time around. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Jeff talks to the audience introducing the show to us. I like how they got a nice set in his garage. Tribal council for dummies. That would make a good book. It should be required reading for every new player so they don’t make dumb mistakes that are often made. Jeff says that so much is going on, there won’t be room for a reunion show.

Going into the show, we see the challenge set up. The final five gets to watch the challenge. This will be the last time that these people will gather from the edge of extinction. They will then be sent to the jury. There is a lot of rope for this challenge. Some people have advantages with Natalie the only one having more than one. Despite not doing as well with her advantages, Natalie wins her way back into the game. And you thought that Chris Underwood getting back in was a problem. She was the first one out.

Kim talks after the challenge about how she screwed things up, but was still glad that she did it. Tyson thinks that his whole life has been Survivor. No one’s whole life has been Survivor. Not even Jeff’s or Mark Burnett’s. Amber says that she was here for her husband. She wasn’t sure that she deserved her win and felt that she only won since people hated Rob. Lex hated Rob most to give her the win, but she shouldn’t sell herself short. Parvati is asked why she left her “swishy” child behind to play. Is he going through all the contestants? He asks Ethan about his struggles with cancer and stand up to cancer. The money sent to it created the drug that saved his life. They leave and the final six is formed. Jeff talks to us one last time before the votes are read. We are shown footage of all the players talking to us about their journey thus far. I’m not going to count this in the confessional count.

In the second segment of the show, Natalie returns to camp. Is this the same one she was on? She has a huge feat in front of her. It could be so huge that it’s a yard long. Natalie wants to lie and says that it is Tony that everyone likes. Sarah thinks that Tony wouldn’t have gotten as far without her. She wants them to know that a man isn’t calling the shots here.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the next challenge. It is for immunity, of course. Michele struggles at the early part of the challenge, getting lapped by Natalie at one point. But she is the first of all of them to solve a layer of the puzzle despite being the last to start it. She won with this puzzle the first time that she played this game. And she wins the challenge again, destroying her success the moment it is done. Tony is worried that Natalie has an advantage or idol. He is right this time. But it is not the same as last time nor was she guaranteed it. And she won’t have to split it.

In the fourth segment of the show, Tony is worried that Natalie has an idol, but Ben is more worried that not too much is going on. He is more concerned about powering through too much and not learning from what he did wrong in the game before. Splitting the votes is brought up, with Natalie and Denise being brought up as the targets. Michele is told by Natalie about her idol. They want to work together to make sure that they control the game. Do both Tony and Ben have idols? Sarah isn’t worried about a potential idol by Natalie and refuses to believe that one would exist as she is convinced that Natalie would have told her and that she knows what is going on. This has to be ironic foreshadowing. The next act is tribal council.

In the fifth segment of the show, people talk about Natalie’s entrance back into the game and how it might affect everything else. Natalie admits that she told people that Tony was running the game. Sarah talks about gender biases and how she thinks that she won’t be defeated by it. How can one run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days? That doesn’t seem possible. Ben thinks that a woman can do everything that a man can do. They can do more. Men can’t have babies. And we wouldn’t have a human race anymore if men did. Jeff admits that he might form a better relationship with men. Jeff thinks that someone has to find a crack and take advantage of it. I think that is called sodomy. Tony also says that they are fighting the invisible person long before covid19 was known to the world.

After the votes are cast, Natalie plays an idol. Tony then plays his. Ben plays his after that. Sarah and Denise are the only people that can be voted for after all the votes are nulled. A tie-breaker would be with fire if there is a tie. Denise has all the votes against her at a revote and she’s voted out. Did they really not air a confessional of hers this episode? Who in a finale gets voted out without any confessionals of them aired?

In the sixth segment of the show, Tony is upset over the vote as the idols are taken out. He then goes looking for a new idol. He’s doing a midnight special. Let the midnight special, shine a light on me. He comes up short looking for it. It is Natalie who finds it in the end. Ben is convinced that they are screwed if either Michele or Natalie found the idol and the other wins immunity.

In the seventh segment of the show, we get to the next immunity challenge. Michele struggles at it again, but does not pull a come from behind victory this time. Tony wins. Ben is unsure who should be targeted as he is worried (rightfully) that Natalie has an idol that could blow things up. Now he’s the one who is worried about Ben bombs going off at tribal council. More irony.

In the eighth segment of the show, Natalie wants to know who to target to break up the threesome. Tony tries to figure out what to do and hides in his spy nest again. Sarah lures Natalie to the spot. After talking for an hour, Natalie’s idol is revealed. Natalie wants to vote out Ben. Ben is okay with being voted out if it will help Sarah win and prove that she wasn’t dragged along to the end. Will she do it? Sarah has to make a big decision and she isn’t sure what to do.

In the ninth segment of the show, we got to the tribal council at hand. Jeff talks about how they might have gone through too much of a quick pace in this game. There is personal scrutiny going in their lives based on how they will be portrayed this season. The people at home only see the good and not the bad in the game. Thus, there are issues with how things are portrayed. Ben thinks that tonight is about being brave in the game. Michele talks about being against the alliance. Natalie plays the idol for herself. The votes cast are between Ben and Michele with Ben getting most of the votes and getting voted out of the game as a result.

In the tenth segment of the show, we go immediately to the next immunity challenge. So far, everyone who has won the challenge won the game, even if only one of the four competing right now won the final immunity challenge. Tony loses the challenge first, leaving the women left to duke it out. Sarah is then the next one out of the challenge. Michele loses next and Natalie wins as a result. Tony thinks that his fate will now come down to fire.

In the eleventh segment of the show, Tony teaches Sarah how to make fire. Michele works on doing it herself. Who will Natalie chose? She might risk it by sending her ally Michele into the fold to face Tony instead of having Sarah impress the jury by beating Tony. Tony doesn’t seem to be trying to face it as well as he could be. Natalie likes being in this position. We get to this tribal council at hand where we learn that Sophie isn’t feeling well and won’t be at this tribal council. That hasn’t happened since Paschal couldn’t attend a tribal council all the way back in the fourth season.

Natalie talks about how she made it to the end. Sarah wants them to shoot at each other than have one of them shot by someone else. Natalie brings Michele to the end as she wants to keep her ally safe in the game. Sarah has issues when drinking water. They get ready for the challenge and they go to commercial next.

In the twelfth segment of the show, we get to the fire making challenge. It seems at one point that Sarah has it locked, but her fire fizzles out at some point. Tony winds up winning it and an emotional Sarah talks about their bond after it is over.

In the thirteenth segment of the show, the final three gather together for their Survivor breakfast. Michele still can’t see how she was supposed to win the first time around. I don’t know what people saw in Aubry. She thinks that she is still a good player despite these hardships. Natalie thinks that although she had a hard time in the game, she can still win in the end. I don’t think that she has the advantage that Chris Underwood had. But she could surprise us. Tony is worried that he might be facing bitter people in the jury. He is hoping that he can be the king of Survivor. Just know that despite what the producers of Survivor or others on the show think, king is just a label you give yourself. We then see the people gather at tribal council. It is the first final tribal council in the rain.

Jeff talks about how they have had a great season thus far. They start with the outwit part of the game. Yul starts things out by wanting them to fill in the missing gaps and Denise wants them to admit any missteps or flaws in their social game. Natalie admits that she got voted out and had missteps as a result of not knowing what to expect. Michele thinks that she didn’t do things well with Wendell. Tony thinks that he had to play a vicious game. Ben thinks that he could test his loyalty. But Jeremy thinks that his game was weak. Adam thinks that Natalie crushed the edge of extinction part of the game. Rob thinks that many of the jury members were isolated by Natalie. She didn’t know if she wanted to tell those in the game about what was going on. She admits that she has a strong personality.

Parvati is glad that Natalie isn’t apologetic. Others are wondering how Tony avoided being a target when he played the game. Wendell wants Michele to speak to the outwit in her game. She found cracks and wants to move within the cracks. She is sitting here despite not seeming that bad and Ben respects that she did a good game since he understands being controversial.

Moving on to the outplay portion of the game, Natalie explains that she sent a lot of advantages to the game and did a lot of things. People talk about how they won challenges to stay in the game. All of them had won an immunity challenge in the game. Natalie talks about why she didn’t want to face Tony in the fire making part of the game. Michele talks about her advantage from the edge.

Jeff gives them final words in the outlast portion of the game. Natalie talks about how she did what she did and was able to do what she did after coming back from the edge. Michele talks about how she had changed from the previous season to this one. She thinks that she played with as good a hand as she could have when she was dealt with it. Tony talks about how he changed who he was during the game and how he make sure that people didn’t vote for him. No one voted against him, right? That’s what he thinks, although I haven’t done a running tally of what’s going on thus far in terms of who got votes. People on the jury talk about how they like what the others did in the game. The only thing that is left is declaring who wins the war in the end. Who will the jury vote for?

In the fourteenth segment of the show, we get to people casting their votes on the jury. Votes are seen for both Natalie and Tony, but not Michele. Michele thinks that this was the longest season ever. But it wasn’t. Australia was. Everyone knows that. Jeff talks to the final three and family is invited in. Tony is now the king of Survivor by getting the second two time win in Survivor history, improving on his second game quite a lot. Jeff talks about the upcoming season and how it hasn’t been filmed yet. We’ll see what happens with that and if something happens. The show ends here with no other gatherings of those who were in the game.

There wasn’t really a reunion show this time around. I hope that this is the only time that they don’t have a real reunion show. They could have done more with it even with the limited amount that they could do. If things go back to normal, we can only hope that they won’t put so much finale in the last episode and we’ll see the actual reunion part again. I think that they used covid19 to get rid of the reunion show since they don’t like it or don’t care about it as much as they should.

Let’s get to the three dumbest moves of the season. The bronze will go to production for adding too many advantages to the game, making the season harder to track. The silver will go to Sophie for not playing her idol and getting voted out of the game as a result. The gold will go to Sandra for trusting Denise and getting blindsided with her own idol.

Now we will get to the most memorable moment of the season. I think that Sandra’s blindside might be the best part of the season as it should out more than anything else throughout all of the craziness in the game. Thus, it is the most memorable part of the season as a result.

Let’s get to ranking the tribe swap of this season versus others. I will put it as 9^th out of the 31 that I have mentioned thus far this season. It was done better than a lot of them, but not as well as some of the others were. Still, I liked this switch a lot more than others.

Now it is time to rank this season against all the others. I know that a lot of people like this season, or that’s what they’d have us believe. I wouldn’t rank this as the best. But I would rank it as 15^th best of all 40 seasons of the show thus far. It was pretty good, if not top ten.

I have no idea yet when the next season will be or even if it will be during the fall as usual or even later than that. I also don’t know yet when I’ll be back with more Survivor: Gabon episodes. I do have to catch up with some posts in the future to replace what was deleted. You will know that I am caught up when you see posts on Survivor: Gabon again. Until then, expect updates on both Sundays and Wednesdays until things go back to normal again. I should hopefully have another old season to blog about in the future if all goes well. Episode 40.13

When I was on the addicted to Survivor facebook group recently, I noticed that there was a discussion that basically boiled down to this: did Sandra quit? I might have commented in the thread, only after seeing someone else say, “This tired discussion again?” I figured that it wasn’t worth addressing there. But it is worth talking about here. Sandra was a great player in other seasons. This season was her worst ever game. It was even worse than the last time. She sat out so much and got blindsided with her own idol. Then, she did quit. It may not have been the same type of quit as other seasons without the edge of extinction twist to it, but she chose to leave the game. She didn’t even last as long as Wendy did two seasons ago and Wendy actually tried to get back in the game once.

In the first segment of the show, we return to Koru. Michele talks about how Jeremy didn’t play the advantage and how everyone knows about it now. She brought a butter knife to a gun fight. Jeremy doesn’t know why people are going after him. Why are most people targeted after the merge? Because they are threats to win, that’s why. Jeremy doesn’t want his game to come down to a 50/50 flip. Denise is done with the old way of doing things. She wants to come up with tattoos. She needs to endure and let go. Both of those things are okay.

Tony and Jeremy have a disagreement on work and what counts as a week. I don’t get this. It is the lions versus the hyenas. Be prepared! Tony talks about his alliance with Sarah and his desire to go all the way to the end with her. She is unsure of how to handle Ben. She also wants Nick voted out of the game next. Ben talks about this plan with Tony. The plan is blowing up. What will happen and who is the target? Will we even know for sure?

In the second segment of the show, we get to an immunity challenge. Already? Michele is emotional over how terrible she did at the challenge. Nick wins with Tony being bested by a puzzle again. Denise needs to figure out what the plan b is.

In the third segment of the show, Ben wonders what to do and tries to figure out who to target. It seems that he is trying to sow discord among the others. Michele wants to play her advantage on herself. Ben tries to play both sides and the target might be him now when Michele and Jeremy figure this out. Tony wants to vote out Jeremy instead. They want to split the votes and hope that it works. Sarah is still a bit worried about Nick. He has to figure out what he can do to win this game.

In the fourth segment of the show, we get to the tribal council at hand. Jeff talks about how Michele struggled at the challenge. Ben talks about how people present themselves on the show. Nick thinks that it is tough to play the game. People have to betray others. What can one do to better themselves as humans when they get home? Michele can’t trust people back at home. In fact, tons of people have all the trust issues after they played. Jeremy thinks that everyone has their own idea of what a group is. It takes this long to bring up the 50/50 coin. Michele claims that this is the last day it can be played. Denise isn’t sure if she can trust her place in the game. Everyone without immunity is nervous. Jeff goes to get the vote and we go to commercial.

In the fifth segment of the show, Jeff asks if idols want to be played or not. Michele decides to play her advantage. Michele plays her advantage on herself and not Jeremy or anyone else. She gets the safe option and votes against her don’t count as a result. Jeremy is voted out, something that would have happened without Michele’s advantage going the way it did still played on herself. He gives his fire tokens to Michele.

Ben talks about how the old Western showdown occurred. I do believe that I put the good, the bad, and the ugly in a previous post in this blog. Nick and Michele talk to each other and they look to form an alliance. Well, she does, at least. She wants to kick it into high gear and go out fighting. She wants to do all sorts of crazy things to survive. She thinks that she is the next target and talks to Sarah about it. She wants to throw a hail Mary, queen of grace, the Lord is with thee. Is that how it goes? Sarah thinks that Michele should be voted out and talks about how Michele is trying to stay in the game.

Back on the edge of extinction, everyone gets a scoop of rice. Jeremy talks about wanting to get back into this game. Yul brings a new message to the group and people run off right after it. Here we go! They all run after the stone in question. Wendell is ahead, but keeps going. Natalie knew where to look and then finds the advantage in question. She has to give this disadvantage to someone in the game and they will give it to someone else once they get it.

Nick gets it, but it will cost him 8 fire tokens, 2 more than he has. Why does Nick think that Tony has no tokens? He got them from winning the challenges in the game. He wants to ask Michele for two of hers. They have to figure out who to play it on in the end.

In the sixth segment of the show, we get to the next immunity challenge at hand. This is the last time that fire tokens can be played and the last time people in the game will get it. Ben gets the disadvantage in the game. Jeff thinks that you can go from last to first in this challenge. Doesn’t he mean that the other way around? I guess that character is character. Michele wins the challenge. She is glad that she can win since everyone wants to target her or thinks that she can’t win.

In the seventh segment of the show, they have to go with plan b again. Denise wants to go a good will gesture since she thinks that she is the target. She wants to make sure that there are no other surprises. Ben wants to vote out Nick since Nick is causing chaos around camp. Ben feels safe and doesn’t want to play an idol. Since when did he have an idol? Nick wants to work together with Tony. Tony wants to get rid of Ben himself. He hides in his spy nest when Sarah and Denise talk to each other. He wants to get rid of Denise now as a result. They can’t do a logical plan this season. Denise slayed queen Sandra. I don’t think that the queen remains queen.

In the eighth segment of the show, we get to the next tribal council in the game. Michele talks about her win and how she felt that she needed it. One should never let one know when one is in trouble, at least according to Jeff. He talks to Ben about his disadvantage and wonders who did it. The very next person that he talks to about who to target is Nick. Sarah wonders what will go on with the game. The fire tokens changed the game a lot, but also, not as much as they could have. I don’t yet hate the twist at this moment, but don’t know what else it could still do.

Ben thinks that fear that takes over is like a lion coming out of the cage. Denise talks about her food gesture. She doesn’t want to go, but can only do so much in the game. She doesn’t want to do the cat and mouse. Neither do Survivor producers. They banned that challenge after it appeared the first and only time in Micronesia, causing the injury that lead to Jonathan being evacuated. Jeff goes to tally the votes and the show once again goes to commercial.

In the ninth segment of the show, no one plays an idol and Jeff reads the votes as a result. Nick is then voted out of the game. Someone will win their way back into the game next. Everyone talks about what they hope to be their last day on the edge of extinction. Amber hates this place, yet is going to miss leaving it in the end. Things are simple there. Rob points out that the idol he purchased is still good. They want to use their fire tokens for an advantage in the challenge. They can get whatever they want to with the fire tokens that they can spend. Natalie got all of the advantages that she could and bought an idol for Tyson in case he gets back in the game. He isn’t sure that he felt that type of motivation from anyone in the game before.

Jeff gives more of a promo of what is going on, talking about who is in the game thus far. Natalie was the first out of the game. This is a recap. Apparently, since they went without one for so long, that means that they have to play one at some point. All of the old school players were voted out. Those who lived on the edge had to deal with a ton of hardships. I don’t even know what to write now so I might as just let this weirdness happen. Next week is the finale of the show.

On the next Survivor, there are more problems with players. The battle isn’t over. We end this by having the players not on the edge talk about the fact that others are coming back to compete with one of them heading back into the game next.

Since fire tokens aren’t important after this episode, I won’t be talking about them in the finale or again in this post. I won’t remind you of the count of it as a result. I think that the most important thing to note going into this finale is the confessional count going into it. The highest of those in the game is Tony with 35. The highest of those on the edge of extinction is Adam with 26. The lowest of those in the game is Denise with 15. The lowest of those on the edge of extinction is Wendell with 12. Going back into the reentry competition, only Adam, Sophie, and Kim had no new confessionals this episode. Episode 40.12

If you follow other blogs of mine, you’ll know that from 2015 onward, there was a cheat that I put in one of the blogs that could give it an update without anything special having to happen. That blog was my TV blog. The cheat would be with unused tithes from the previous year causing the blog to be updated on that date the next year. At one point, I had to move those updates to my Madam Secretary blog before I put them back in the TV blog before returning yet again to the Madam Secretary blog where they are right now. I also started putting the month of the check that I was giving away on the envelopes most of the time, although there are times when I can’t use the month and have to leave it blank. There have also been times when I couldn’t use a cheat as it conflicted with this blog that you are reading now.

Things are getting quite confusing since there is no church that I can go to and a lot of unused envelopes as a result. There might be times when I’ll have to give away all that is in one envelope or at least part of it. You might wonder how this will affect blogs including possibly this one in the end. Well, all I can say is that I might go with back-up times to publish blogs more in the future and that’s if there’s even a show to blog about in the present. I have my doubts that they will air a new season this fall like they always have and it might not just be delayed like the third season was. Basically, we’ll see what all this blog and others might do because of these changes and I hope that it won’t be a problem.

In the first segment of the show, Sarah is outraged over Tony’s move. Jeremy thinks that Ben is acting too childish over the vote. Tony reveals that he has an idol. Ben isn’t sure that he can trust Tony and wants to make sure that Jeremy is voted out. Tony was pooped on by a bird. Well, get off twitter and then you can avoid the angry fans. Tony is going on another undercover operation. He is doing a spy nest by hiding in a tree. Sarah knows that he is doing this. She thinks that he could get himself voted out due to what is going on. Kim wants to get rid of Tony and tries to rally the other players against him. She wants to leave a light on. Isn’t that a song? Michele thinks that she should take out Tony.

In the second segment of the show, we return to the edge of extinction. The new task will give six of them two fire tokens each. They have to take 20 coconuts from the back of the island to their camp, one at a time. And they have to do it before sundown. Some do better than others. Rob cracks his elbow. Natalie does this first. Sophie gets a close second. Yul comes in third. Tyson and Parvati come in fourth and fifth. Danni suffers a set back and Wendell gets sixth place. Rob keeps going even after he is out of getting any fire tokens. Back with the main game, there is more fighting with the other players.

Nick wants to join a new group of people so he joins Denise and Michele in an alliance. He wants to get rid of Jeremy, Tony, and Sarah. The players are convinced that Sophie’s idol is going back into play. For once, it isn’t in a hole in a tree, or, at least, it isn’t in the one that they check. Ben finds the idol and unsuccessfully tries to hide it from Tony who is right next to him. Ben wonders what route to go on or who to side with.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. Both a woman and man will win the immunity challenge. Come on, really? Is that something that they can randomly do? Jeremy is out of the challenge first and Ben disqualifies himself. Sarah drops out next. Is this really the toughest version of this that they’ve done? Wasn’t there a variant of this with both hands above them? Nick wants to give a fire token to Tony in exchange for winning the challenge, but Tony refuses. When Jeff offers food, Kim, Michele, and Nick (for one of Tony’s fire tokens) drops out of the challenge, leaving Tony and Denise with the wins of the challenge. Tony brags about his win.

In the fourth segment of the show, Kim talks about how they can’t get rid of Tony now. But they are going with the other plan of trying to get rid of Jeremy. Michele isn’t sure what to do. Ben reveals that he was the target at some point. Tony isn’t sure that he can trust Nick anymore. Kim is dangerous and she might be the target for some people now. Tony tries to tell Ben that Nick can’t be trusted and he wants to make sure that Kim is voted out next. Michele talks about her 50/50 coin advantage. I thought that Sarah had it. How long have I been wrong about it? Michele talks to Jeremy about maybe giving the advantage away to potentially help him. There is more scrambling than with eggs right now. Jeremy takes the advantage knowing that it might be worthless in the end. Friendly fire could happen.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Denise talks about the bad family therapy that she witnessed after the vote. Would she know about it? She’s a sex therapist, right? I wonder how being a therapist makes her feel.

Michele talks about the decision while Tony and others have a secret conversation to the side. All of this whispering is quite common now. Nick admits that he got a fire token for this. There is a tribe of crazy, paranoid players this season. Jeff offers a sports like commentary while this is going on. What is with all of this going on? Will this always be part of the show now? And is it a good thing? Jeff thinks that there is nothing that can be said tonight.

Denise is sure that she is ready to vote. Did Jeremy flip the coin? I think that he did, but I couldn’t tell if he did and the results are unknown right now. When would he have done that exactly? Tony wants to play his idol for Sarah, but she refuses this offer. I could tell what happened with Jeremy, but I think that he didn’t get the results he wanted. Or maybe he didn’t play his advantage at all. Kim is voted out. She gives each of her three fire tokens to the three women left in the game.

On the next Survivor, we get a two hour episode all at once, Natalie is doing something, Sarah and Tony might both be in danger, and there are more confusing things going on as well. It is hard to make sense of the promos as much anymore, but at least they are still there.

I can’t keep track of some of these advantages and think that some of the confessional count is bloated since they kept switching between more than one person’s confessional at once, giving them a higher count than they might have otherwise. Tony now has the highest count with thirty confessionals. Denise is the lowest with eleven. Everyone in this episode had a new confessional, even those on the edge of extinction. I might have the number wrong for some of them, at least on the edge. It is hard to tell if there are any misleading numbers in terms of confessionals, but it might become clearer later or all be misleading on purpose. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 40.11

I am currently unsure yet where to rank this season. It will probably be among the good seasons if it has a good ending in the end. That means it would need a good winner and an otherwise satisfying ending that I like in the end. I wouldn’t rank this as the best. But to rank it as bad or even average just does not seem like it works for this season yet. I would hope that it doesn’t go down in the rankings later.

In the first segment of the show, Jeremy talks about how he used the advantage as he is at tribal council by himself, wondering what happened at tribal council. He wants to know what happened. Ben talks about how his target was able to leave before the vote and will target Jeremy the next time around. While Jeremy had Tyson as a shield, it might have worked too well.

Michele thinks that no one trusts her since she was left out of the vote. Tony talks about how he hasn’t been looking for an idol since he does not want to repeat the mistakes of his second time in the game. He looks for one now as everyone else is exhausted and asleep. Nick joins him at some point, but Tony redirects him to where he already looked. Tony does find an idol. We then switch to Sarah helping make clothes. She’s doing a clothing line that I have to guess that Survivor might want part of the profits of or they wouldn’t promote it for free like this. A fashion show is put on for the others with these clothes. Tony wants to play the game and lies to Jeremy about what happened since he wants to get rid of Jeremy. Tony never went undercover in the real world. Kim thinks that Tony is now her biggest enemy out here.

In the second segment of the show, we go to the edge of extinction. People don’t want to lose the game that they are playing. Tyson thinks that Adam is going to have a hard time. What did I do? Wait, not me. Parvati and Natalie find a note there. They don’t want to tell anyone about what’s going on. They look up there for something, but realize they have to find something under the bed of the shelter. Parvati distracts people while Natalie looks for it. She grabs it and it is an extortion advantage. They can’t play in the challenge or participate in a vote unless they surrender all their fire tokens. They have to figure out who the best person to do this to is as it would cause a lot of chaos.

In the third segment of the show, Nick talks about how he was called a vampire in his season. Tony reads his new advantage which he is very excited about up until reading the last line where it was used against him. He has to give six fire tokens. He confronts his fake alliance about it. Michele reveals that she gave hers away, but lies about why that would be. Jeremy gives one of his away. He also gets one from Nick and Ben as well. We get to the immunity challenge next. The winner of the challenge gets two fire tokens.

If the players know their way around a pole, they will win the challenge. Will they go low or high on the pole? Maybe they will have fun going all over the pole in various places. Kim is out of the challenge first. Denise and Michele both lose control of their poles as does Sarah. These women do not know how to do poles in the end. Nick is the first man out of the challenge. Sophie is the last woman. Who would have thought that all these men knew how to handle poles so well? Ben is out of the challenge and Jeremy drops out next right afterwards leaving Tony with the win. He knows his poles well. He is glad that Jeremy did not win the challenge. He might give the tokens he just won away.

In the fourth segment of the show, Kim knows that Jeremy is the target and many people think that the vote should be split between Jeremy and Michele. Ben is also brought up as a potential target. Tony wonders if Sophie should be the target in the end. But he has to know that Jeremy could win immunity more likely than Sophie could. Still, he wants to change the target and even tells Jeremy that some other people were targeting Jeremy, without revealing that he was the one who was doing this. Jeremy does not know what is going on anymore. Tony has to know how this will sound if it comes to light. But it does seem like now Tony wants to save Jeremy. What is going on?

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Sophie talks about the advantages and idol that were played at the last tribal council. Jeremy thinks that everyone is telling half truths. This makes me wonder if Thanos is there since he likes halves. Nick hopes that big moves don’t backfire as you have to make moves that add to your résumé while also not getting rid of the jury votes you want. I should look up how many winners voted out every member of the jury. Michele didn’t scramble and most of them thought that things were too quiet after tribal council. The game level is high.

Psychological warfare is going on with all the players. Not much can be gathered from tribal this time and it doesn’t seem like we know what might have happened with the votes just yet. No idols are played this time around. Sophie is voted out and even mentions to everyone that she had an idol in her pocket. She gives one fire token to Sarah and the other to Kim.

On the next Survivor, Sarah is upset at Tony and he is now the target for many people as he now has a spy nest by climbing a tree. Kim wants to make a risky move and we will see what all happens later in this show, maybe. They set up a lot for later.

I do not know if Tony gave his two new fire tokens to people that he felt he owed them to or not so I can only guess that what I have is right unless or until being told otherwise. Sophie has sixteen confessionals and is higher than Michele, Kim, Denise, and Nick with Denise as the lowest with ten. She has the same number as Sarah. The highest of those still in the game is Tony with twenty-four. As for confessionals that are new, Sophie had two or maybe just one. I think that it was two and it was the same number as Michele and Kim. The only people higher are Jeremy and Tony with Tony as the highest with seven. The lowest is Nick with just zero. In case you were wondering about the lack of Survivor: Gabon posts, I have not been able to watch that show in quite a while. I have been busy with watching and doing other things. I can only hope that I can get back to it in good time, even though you won’t be seeing it for a while. At least you won’t have to wait as long until I do posts on Survivor: Borneo again. That will take quite some time. Note that once this season ends, I am certain to do some random posts before going back to that old season again, but only once I can blog about more of that season in question.

In the first segment of the show, we get to the contestants gathering for a challenge. Kim’s husband and three kids come out for the challenge. Ben’s wife and kids come out for the challenge. Sophie’s husband comes out for the challenge. Sarah’s partner and son comes out for the challenge. He is just a partner? Denise’s daughter and husband are brought out. Nick’s fiancée comes out for the challenge. Tony’s wife and kids come out for the challenge. Michele’s sister comes out for the challenge. Tyson’s wife and child comes out for the challenge. We haven’t seen Rachel since Blood versus Water. Jeremy’s wife and kids come out for the challenge. This is Val from San Juan del Sur. What’s interesting is that both Rachel and Val were voted out at the second tribal councils in their seasons. After making a joke, Jeff reveals that there is no loved ones challenge and that they all get to go back to the camp.

In the second segment of the show, Ben and Sarah talk about the gathering going on. It was as if there was cease fire in the war. Tyson is glad that everyone gets to enjoy it. At that moment, it switches to the people on the edge of extinction who also get their families visiting. We don’t get the exact same way of meeting that the others get. Adam’s father talks to him. He is emotional still over the death of his mom. Wendell and Yul like seeing their loved ones. Ethan is married now and gets to spend time with her life. Natalie gets to spend time with her time and an unexplained baby. Whose baby is that? This makes Sandra the only contestant this season not to see a loved one. If only she didn’t quit.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. This is also for two fire tokens instead of the usual one. Tony wins the challenge. Ben talks afterwards about how he thinks that there will be a huge tribal council coming ahead.

In the fourth segment of the show, the tribe gathers after the challenge where Tony talks about his win. People then come to him since he has all the power. Jeremy wants to break up Sarah and Sophie. Tony does not want to turn on his ally, Sarah. Sarah thinks that Kim should be voted out instead. Sarah thinks that talking to Tony is like talking to a rock. I thought that Francesca ate the rock.

Tony thinks that he should turn the tide against Jeremy since Jeremy is going against the grain. Kim wants to play an idol. I didn’t remember that. Sarah is confused by what’s going on. Jeremy has an advantage, but isn’t sure that he can use it since he’d be turning his back on his alliance. Sophie wonders if the smoke will clear or not since someone could be dead in the trenches.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Nick thinks that the game has gotten better than it was, even if his allies were voted out. A lot of people do random whispering that has become a common part of Survivor nowadays. Kim thinks that this is Survivor insanity. Tony is glad that he is safe since he has the immunity necklace. Jeremy and Sarah both want to play an advantage. Jeremy gives Jeff his note that uses his safety without power and he leaves tribal council.

There is more scrambling than when good eggs are made for breakfast. Two groups gather. Sarah then decides to steal a vote from Denise and after at least two times of Jeff saying it is time to vote, they actually do vote. Third time’s the charm. Jeff gathers the votes and Kim plays her idol for Denise. Tyson is voted out again. He doesn’t have any fire tokens to give away.

On the next Survivor, everyone is lying according to Jeremy, Tony wants to do damage and might damage himself in the process as everyone wonders what will happen next. The jurors also then talk to Jeff, giving him thanks for the family visit.

Tyson had just one new confessional this episode. The only people lower are Michele, Denise, Nick, and Danni with zero. The people who are higher are Ben, Tony, and Sarah with Sarah as the highest with three. In terms of total confessionals, Tyson has sixteen. Tony and Ben are both higher with seventeen. Both Rob and Adam are also higher with nineteen and twenty-five respectively. The lowest is a tie with Wendell, Kim, Danni, and Denise all having nine confessionals. Episode 40.9

It will be Easter this Sunday, be it today when this post is published or this coming Sunday if this was posted on a Wednesday. I’ll get to the plan and weirdness in the next paragraph. But I might as well get to sharing all the Sunday shows that I watch right now. There might be some changes soon as not all of what I watch is on at the moment. Know that I watch 60 Minutes, God Friended Me, NCIS: Los Angeles, and NCIS: New Orleans on CBS, Supergirl and Batwoman on the CW, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy on FOX, and The Rookie on ABC. I might check out Good Girls at some point, but probably won’t even if the network it airs on (NBC) does come in for a change.

What I’m kind of annoyed by is that Modern Family is airing a two hour series finale starting at 7 that will more than likely delay when I see and thus blog about this episode. This creates different options for what I could do with this show and this blog. I could record Modern Family on my laptop, in which case I would use the alternate one I have to write a post and blog about as it airs live. More than likely, I will instead put this show on tape as usual while I delay the post until sometime on Sunday. This would ensure the already likely fact that my posts on Gabon would be delayed until after the season is done airing. I will explain more about that in the next post of this blog.

Note that there was a storm that was going on during this episode and can only hope that I didn’t lose any of the show due to storm coverage as a result. I could see some of this online, hopefully, if such a thing were to happen on the tape.

In the first segment of the show, the tribe returns from tribal council and Michele feels blindsided from the vote over Wendell getting voted out. Nick wants to take everyone out. But how could he? Adam was nervous about surviving the vote. Adam thinks that there is an idol hidden at tribal council. We then get to the people on the edge of extinction and they all have to be there for the message. It says that history will repeat itself. Some try to leave others out. Parvati and Danni find the advantage where Aubry did in the previous season with it. They tell others about it.

The advantage is a safe/not safe coin that they can sell for any number of fire tokens. They want to sell it to Michele for four since she has the most fire tokens. Meanwhile, we get to a reward challenge all by itself. They split into two teams of five with Denise sitting out by not being picked. Sarah is on the team that wins the challenge, but she gives her reward of Chinese takeout to Nick since it is his birthday. Adam questions a move like this.

In the second segment of the show, Nick wants to pay her back, but she doesn’t want paid back. Sarah explains her move in a confessional. Tony doesn’t like this move and talks to her about it. Jeremy also is weary of a decision like this. Nick thinks that he doesn’t owe Sarah anything. Those on the reward open their fortune cookies and see different things. Michele decides to accept the advantage and get rid of all her fire tokens partly based on the advice of the cookies she got. Can she only use it once? That is my impression from the advantage.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. What’s with the random singing in the background of some of these episodes? What’s going on and why has it been added? Kim wins the challenge and gets a fire token. Did I remember to add the fire token from the last win? Tony isn’t sure that he is safe as he thinks that his kind is being targeted.

In the fourth segment of the show, Kim thinks that the vote should be split. Nick is who the people think should be voted out of the game. Nick wants to take control of the game. He wants to vote out Sarah. Some people are completely fine with this. Meanwhile, Tyson wants to target Adam. What did I do? Oh, wait… Tyson thinks that Adam is too dangerous as a player. It seems that everyone want to vote out Adam. Sarah is convinced that people shouldn’t throw her name out. Ben doesn’t want the target to end up on him tonight. Ben and Adam have a bit of a fight. It doesn’t seem like anyone knows who to vote for as different names are brought up as a target. Adam is hoping that tribal council has an idol.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Jeff thinks that the game is cagey and it seems that no one knows who will get blindsided. Jeremy thinks that he hasn’t seen the game this crazy at any time before. Nick is tired of his game coming up. He thinks the war is a sad war. Adam tries to pay attention to what is going on as people whisper and come up with plans for what to do. Ben tries to defend some of what he did and is going on.

People are moving around and chaos is being caused. Ben is too sensitive in some way. Adam and Ben largely have this loud conversation and other people talk to the side while this is going on. Adam is sure that he wants to figure out what is going on in the game and at one point, it leads to silence. Adam tries to take the thing out after the votes are cast, but it won’t come off. Jeff says that it isn’t an idol. He looks kind of dumb as a result, but not too much. Adam is voted out. He gives his fire token to Denise.

On the next Survivor, the war is happening and someone will be left in the trenches. I can’t see much else of what was going on. It is possible that someone wants to go to the edge. Adam arrives at the edge and they think that he is trying to do good, even if he didn’t.

I think that I did mess up with the fire token count so I should hopefully have the right number later in the next post. I also don’t know if Parvati got all of Michele’s old fire tokens or not. As for the total confessional count, Adam has twenty-four, the highest of any in the game whether it is on the edge or still in the main game. Tony, Ben, and Tyson tie for the next highest with fifteen. Rob still has eighteen. In terms of next confessionals, Adam has the highest with four. Nick is the next highest with three. Episode 40.8

I had done a post earlier on the winners that weren’t picked to be on this season of Survivor and I now have a link about it that explains a bit more. Since I was still recording this show while listening to my church on the radio, I often found out who was voted out (at least in the last part of the show) when I got to the end of the recording. This is something that I’m okay with in a way since it is expected for me to see something of some sort or another when I get into a show towards the end. I will do one last update regarding that later in this post, although there is a lot more to share about church in this blog later.

In the first segment of the show, the players that are out of the game get a scroll regarding what they can get and some of them get an advantage in the challenge and an idol for later. Amber gives her fire token to her husband. The tribes gather and merge. The players from the edge gather for the challenge in the game that can get them back in it. I think that all of the players that could get an advantage in the challenge bought one and thus used it. Tyson narrowly beats out Rob for the win. The players that lost the challenge are now on the jury and will await a second and final chance to get back in the game. Tyson feels proud of himself for winning the challenge.

In the second segment of the show, there is a new menu of which to use the fire tokens and there is a merge feast that the players get. The prices of things went up. Denise explains her move that got rid of Sandra. Tyson and the rest of them realize that the old school players were gone, but it might not have been intentional. Wendell thinks that he can trust his place in the game.

Wendell and Jeremy want to work together, but only if Wendell gets rid of Nick. Tyson talks to Ben about how the big targets have already been outnumbered and taken out. But there are still alliances forming and changing. Tony wants to get rid of all of them.

In the third segment of the show, it starts raining on the tribe. Adam doesn’t think that this is too much of an issue as his season had a cyclone. But he didn’t have to weather the storm as he got to leave when the worst of it struck. Sophie is really cold as they gather for the challenge. The first man and woman who win the challenge get immunity and a fire token. Michele takes a big fall as she is the first out of the challenge. Adam is out next. Sarah falls out. Tyson loses a challenge he had won before next. Wendell is out as is Tony. Sophie is out next. Kim is out giving Denise the win for the women. Ben is out of the challenge next leaving just Nick and Jeremy to battle it out. Jeremy wins after a bit longer. He wants to get rid of Nick while not letting others know that he is in control.

In the fourth segment of the show, we return to the tribe after the challenge. People think that they should get rid of either Nick or Wendell. Ben wants to get rid of Nick, but Nick is making sure that he can be everywhere at once, talking to people and intruding himself into conversations.

Sophie wants to get rid of Jeremy. Nick is told that the target is Adam. Why do you want to get rid of me? Oh, wait. He wants to get rid of a different Adam. Jeremy wants to change the target to Adam, but it seems like the vote could still be up in the air. Adam isn’t sure that he’s safe and wants to make sure that either Nick or Wendell is voted out instead.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to the tribal council at hand. Tyson relights his torch. Jeff starts the tribal council by talking to Tyson. He thinks that he is more cautious this time around. Jeff asks if he would be an easy target to the other players and Sophie admits that his name was not brought up. The players fought for their lives on the poll. You have to do well at polls, even if they can be unreliable at times. They decide who gets in debates. Wait, those are different polls.

Nick doesn’t want to look like he is paranoid at the game. Sophie doesn’t want to be part of every group. Adam isn’t sure how things will come together since no one was talking with him. Tony admits that everyone is going with the current, but not everyone knows which way it is going. No one plays an idol and the votes are cast. Wendell is the person voted out of the game. Both Michele and Nick were left out of the vote. Wendell gives one fire token to Nick and the other to Michele.

On the next Survivor, Nick wants to take out everyone who double crossed him as things are becoming quite madness in the game and tons of crazy things can happen. Wendell doesn’t even know how to explain what happened at tribal outside of the fact that he was voted out and that’s what happened. Is there much else that can be gathered from this?

I hope that I have the fire token count right as I might have gotten a bit confused by some of it near the end since some changed hands. As for the total confessional count, Adam is winning in the total count with twenty with Kim losing with seven, having less than all those on the edge of extinction. Michele was the lowest with this episode with zero; everyone else not on the edge has higher counts. The highest is a tie between Ben and Tony with three a piece.

Before I finish this post, I should tell you that the posts are moving back to Wednesdays for the rest of this season. In case they are not posted on time like they should be and are planned to be, you will see the post on Sundays instead. I still don’t know when the next Survivor: Gabon post will be and know that it might not be until late as in this season could be over before it returns. We’ll see what happens next.
