Survivor: China episode 1: A Chicken’s a Little Bit Smarter

Well, it is time that I get to watching this season and blogging about it. There is a new list of shows to watch switching with the other list. This might have been the only time in quite a while when it made sense to add a new list due to confusion things might cause when other lists change or get in the way. Basically, I took this season and the next five choices in line to be added to my list of things to watch and they will form a new list. This seemed like the only way of moving forward.

Here are the rolls in the order that they will appear: Matlock season 1 is the first option, NCIS season 8 is the second; Power Rangers season 1, volume 1 is the third; Rare: Creatures of the Photo Arc is the fourth, Survivor: China is the fifth, and Winnie the Pooh tapes is the sixth. This new list will change in one of two ways. Either I will finish something from the main list, moving something from this list to replace it with the next option while putting the next in line on this list in its place or I will finish one of the things on the new list on its own without having to move it to another list and also adding the next thing waiting in line to this new list. Things will and could get confusing even more if I have to get rid of the main list upon being done watching Survivor: Gabon for reasons I’ll get into then.

Here is now a Friday updates update, if it makes sense. Sometimes like now, I will have to share this blog’s updates with other blogs. Fridays are a bit confusing since I often post two different blogs there. I tend to post my Good Wife blog that is still updated on the first Friday of the month and will often have the second Friday be giving to it as well sometimes. If a certain cheat I have where I have to update a certain blog is used that falls on Friday, I would update that blog (currently the Madam Secretary blog) on that specific day. I tend to post my Good Fight blog on the first available Friday not given to some other blog. Any other Fridays are not given to another blog for any reason (such as even rolling and watching an episode of Survivor) would be updated with a post of this blog, if it is available. Depending on how things go, I could wind up putting my CSI: Cyber blog on Fridays.

It was literally the first day that I could and did use the new list that I rolled a number five and got to watch an episode of this Survivor season as a result. Since July 16, 2020 was a Thursday and I normally give my TV blog to Thursdays, I will instead update my Madam Secretary blog and then switch between the two blogs as often as possible on some of the days. If I roll another episode on a Thursday the week after my TV blog was updated, then I update that blog again. If I roll another episode on a Thursday the week after my Madam Secretary blog was updated, then I’ll have to update my Good Wife blog. Also note that if the plan sticks regardless of potential other rolls, I will phase out updates of my TV blog on Thursdays should an update from that just happen to be the last Thursday of the month.

It nothing happens and affects the schedule of updates on Thursdays, this would mean that since the Madam Secretary blog was updated on 7-16-2020, the TV blog would be updated on 7-23-2020, then the Madam Secretary on 7-30-2020, then TV on 8-6-2020, Madam Secretary on 8-13-2020, TV on 8-20-2020, Madam Secretary on 8-27-2020, TV on 9-3-2020, and then things get confusing with a cheat that is on 9-10-2020 that wouldn’t be able to be applied to either blog as I’d have to find a new one to put it in. But like I said, a lot of things could change with the schedule of blog updates. The one that you saw in the last Survivor: Gabon post in June didn’t wind up happening like that. Now I realize that I’ve talked too much about other things so let’s get to this episode in question.

We begin with Jeff at a Buddhist monastery. We see the contestants with luggage and in more types of luxury than we are used to seeing. But they do get to the more remote places in the end. They are going to the lake of a thousand islands.

After the confessional-less introduction by Jeff and theme song that was still there at the time, we get to the contestants getting in the game at this temple. Chicken felt that this was a cool place. Peih-Gee is glad to visit China since she is of Chinese descent. Denise talks about this spiritual experience. Jeff claims that it is not religious in any way and is just a welcome ceremony. But Leslie thinks that it felt too much like worship and walks out of the welcoming ceremony. Jeff talks to her about it later, but she doesn’t think that it will affect her too much. The contestants learn that they are starting with the clothes on their back and, as it seems to happen most of the time, a woman is without a bra.

The contestants get their tribes revealed. The red tribe, Fei Long, is Aaron, Amanda, Courtney, Denise, James, John-Robert, Leslie, and Todd. The yellow tribe, Zhan Hu, is Ashley, Chicken, Dave, Erik, Jamie, Frosti (real name Michael), Peih-Gee, and Sherea. Amanda is happy to be on her tribe. They each get a copy of the book Art of War. They each leave for their separate camps. A boat will take them there, but they have to row the boat themselves. Aaron thinks that his tribe doesn’t know what is going on.

Courtney is not sure that she likes her tribe since they are too happy, but possibly seeming fake. Jean-Robert thinks that Todd is a bit devious. He wants to read the other players. Todd insists that he will do whatever he needs to do to win the million dollars. This makes Todd want to turn on Jean-Robert.

Meanwhile, the other tribe gets to their beach. Sherea was in heels so she takes them off. Chicken also talks about what to do by taking control of the tribe. Has he never seen the show before? Never take charge. Everyone hates this except for you. Ashley doesn’t want to lose and disappoint her fans. She is a wrestler. Peih-Gee isn’t sure how she feels about her tribe yet. Todd talks about his tribe and how they get along together. Leslie is a bit worried about James since he is working hard, but he reveals that he is a strong person due to his job digging graves.

There is a terrible storm that night. The shelter at Zhan Hu didn’t seem to last long. Chicken works on doing a new one. Ashley feels terrible and sick. She insists on staying in the game and not leaving. Dave talks to her about not worrying about being on the block while privately admitting that she will wind up on the block if she doesn’t recover.

On the other tribe, Todd wants to push the leadership role on Aaron. Aaron accepts this role. The other tribe gets treemail as well. Frosti talks about being a parcore (is that how you spell it?) champion and he needs to figure out where to go with certain things.

At the challenge, the tribe has to maneuver a dragon through an area. They also get their running shoes back for this challenge. James is getting the key and going ahead on his tribe. Frosti is on the other side. The challenge is pretty close the whole way, but Fei Long is the tribe that wins.

Back at Zhan Hu, the tribe gets a bit of a lecture. Peih-Gee is emotional before getting too tough. Ashley seems to have recovered from her sickness. Chicken thinks that Ashley is too weak. Ashley doesn’t seem to like Peih-Gee. It seems like the vote will be among Peih-Gee, Ashley, and Chicken, according to Dave. Is he right? Well, let's get to it.

We then get to tribal council. Peih-Gee thinks that this was harder than he thought it was. Chicken thinks that people weren’t in control of the tribe. Dave wants to be the leader and so does Peih-Gee. One has to be concerned. Jeff asks Dave what could make the tribe better. Chicken thinks that he should get rid of who is doing the least amount of work. Ashley isn’t sure that she’s fitting in with this group in the end. She thinks that her sickness made her do the least amount of work. Chicken is convinced that he’s not doing the least amount of work as he isn’t sure that he fits in.

The tribe then votes. Ashley votes for Peih-Gee. Dave and Chicken vote for Ashley. Peih-Gee, Erik, Frosti, Jamie, and Sherea vote out Chicken from the tribe. He gets upset. Someone keep him away from Link. We can’t have any crazy chicken attacking Link. He has to rescue Zelda.

On the next Survivor, Jean-Robert’s bluff is called. Dave is the leader of his tribe, but not everyone likes it, including Ashley suddenly despite her vote this episode being against the other leader of the tribe. I wonder what went wrong. Amanda becomes more of a pro wrestler than she could be or otherwise was. In his exit confessional, Chicken talks about how he liked to be here in the game.

Confessional count: Ashley- 2, James- 1, Amanda- 1, Courtney- 1, Todd- 3, Jamie- 0, Peih-Gee- 3, Denise- 1, Aaron- 2, Frosti- 1, Jean-Robert- 1, Chicken- 4, Leslie- 2, Dave- 2, Sherea- 1, Erik- 0.

Chicken seems like a nice person, but he didn’t seem like he made much of a mark as a player. I mean, you can’t really do that when you are the first boot. I don’t know just how old he is now or if he would want to go out and play Survivor again. All I know is that I’d put his chances of returning at around 35%. Maybe he wants to play again, but would he be chosen?

I can hope that every now and then, I can end a post or otherwise have a schedule of when I plan to update various blogs towards the end of each month in preparation for how it would be planned to have the updates for the next month. Now a plan doesn’t mean it will happen that way as this past month has turned out for me. Still, here is the planned update schedule.

We’ll see if any of this ends up happening the way I believe and plan it possibly will. This is just a way that it could happen. We’ll see what happens and don’t expect to see this blog updated on Sunday as I just don’t see how that could happen. Still, there are a lot of things to write and prepare for. Let’s hope that I can get it all done. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Survivor: China- A Look Back

Well, I’ve had this season since June, even though I ordered it longer ago than that, so I figured that I should get to it sooner rather than later. I didn’t like how I had to wait so long before I was able to see Gabon for the first time after getting it, but it made sense since I had to finish with Borneo first. I did add a new list of shows to watch with this on it, but I’ll get into that in the next post when I’m talking about the first episode of that season.

What this season was like: This was said to be the first US show to be filmed entirely in China. They must not have counted the reunion show, then, since that clearly wasn’t in China. Throughout the entire premerge part of the game, they made use of a kidnapping twist that was even part of how they did the tribe swap that season.

Why it was good: I liked the fact that the hidden immunity idols were secret this season and it made things just a bit more mysterious and awesome as a result. The blindside of James was epic and remains a huge part of the greatness of Survivor. I also liked how this season introduced Amanda to the Survivor world.

Why it was bad: The cast wasn’t that good to me. I found it weird that someone that seemed as weak as Courtney made it as far as she did. I hate this season’s tribe swap more than any other swap that they ever did on any other season of this show due to how unfair it was for those who got swapped. There were not as many entertaining parts to it as one would normally like. Denise seemed like a terrible player and I’m not sure why some like her.

My overall thoughts: This season is among the lower ranked ones for me as I just couldn’t get behind a lot of what I felt were dull moments and places in it. They did something different which I feel was kind of a good idea, but most of it just fell flat for me.

Current ranking of the season and why: I have this ranked as 33 out of 40 seasons right now. It ranks pretty low as there isn’t much that happens in it that’s long lasting or important in my mind. I do think that it has some saving graces in some areas and isn’t as bad as it could be as a result. But this season does seem pretty weak to me and I can only hope that watching it again can change my opinion of it to something better in the end.

With not much else to say, I will end this post with this paragraph. I do want to like this season more and can only hope that seeing it again will improve my taste of it. I do have friends on facebook from this season so I can only hope that they are not offended by anything that they might see me post here. I think that I like all of them that I can remember that I’m friends with there, if I’m friends with them still now in the present. Posts of this season will be on Fridays, but not all Fridays are available right now so I hope that it doesn’t get too confusing. Other posts will explain. I can only hope that I can keep up the calendar of planned posts for each month. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Survivor: Gabon episode 12: The Good Things in Life Aren’t Easy

I won’t know for sure when blog posts might appear and if you notice things as different in the future where I post something in the TV blog, but don’t have a post of this season, note that I will have another season going in the future, even if it isn’t just on my list of things to watch just yet. I should get to more of that in the future and will have to add this other season, Survivor: China, to my list of things to watch if either Thomas the Tank Engine is close to being removed from my list of things to watch or another show, Community, is removed from the list.

Let’s get to the idol from Island of the Idols part 3. Vince gets an idol good for two tribal councils which he got by sneaking into the other people’s camp. He is voted out with it in his possession at the very next tribal council he attended in the same episode. It’s better to waste idols than be voted out with them in your possession. Not everyone who does the first thing is dumb, but everyone who does the second thing is dumb.

In the post from my Madam Secretary blog that I’m sharing now, I talk about finding a football team to root for and maybe sometime I’ll post the whole convoluted way that I came up with finding one in due time. I have a whole set of teams that I root for in a certain order that I might have to get more caught up with in the future. Something that I realize is that I should about a potential Rams versus Cardinals update since both teams left St. Louis and I have yet to cover it in my facebook group Still a Rams fan, but probably will. I talk about watching shows online in this post and this was a poorly written blog post, perhaps the worst recap of all of them.

http://adamdeckermadamsecretaryblog.blogspot.com/2016/09/episode-from-2-14-2016.html

I would write a joke about the word redacted here, but legally, I can’t say anymore.

Since the last episode that I blogged about was the recap one of this season and it wasn’t about any of the episodes of the general main plot this season, know that that is why I’m not sharing posts from The Good Wife blog, probably, for the rest of this season’s posts. We’ll see if that changes or not. There is one more opening for it in the things that I plan to watch this year (if possible) so I’ll try to put it in my posts Survivor: China soon if I am able to start posting that soon.

Dollhouse season 2 is replaced with Dollhouse season 1 while Community takes its place back on the list from Charmed season 5 again. If I reach a stopping point in Community or come to close to finishing something else, I will add the next list of things to watch and probably start watching Survivor: China pretty soon after that.

With a lot of future Survivor seasons planned, you might wonder what the update is for filming on any of the next seasons. They have stuff planned until at least season 44, possibly, but still have had issues with possibly being able to film season 41, the next season. Nothing has started yet, according to this link here. They are wanting to do something soon. I did read a different Survivor blog where they had suggested that they film something here in America in a remote enough location. I don’t know if they can or would want to, but it might work out as something of last resort. I don’t yet know if they could be in the process of airing a season that they are currently filming at the same time. I wouldn’t think that they would ever do such a thing.

Update: It’s official that there will be no Survivor on during the fall. We have yet to hear about any of the other shows that might be affected as many of the things could be in the end. I’m sure that I’ll be able to keep track of when the show will be back on the air as a result and can only hope that I will keep these updates in the future.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/survivor-pulled-from-cbs-fall-schedule/ar-BB16JSw4?li=BBnb2gh&ocid=mailsignout

Something that I’ve thought of now in the era of social distancing is that some challenges on Survivor could be done that way while others could not. Thus, posts in the future will include recurring challenges information and I’ll try to figure out what could work if they could only do challenges one way. Some might work normally, but with masks.

Something weird was going on with the facebook page of Alicia Waller from Survivor: One World. I will have to send her a message of apology for being skeptical of it. Her posts were getting deleted by a person who was not her and had to relate to facebook. I’m not even sure how I saw some of them as I tried to comment on one in the future. I was mainly suspicious as she said that it was stuff that was critical of the left and facebook has a conservative bias. Still, something weird is going on.

Yet another thing that might change is that since I’m so close to the end of this season, maybe I will just let Survivor: China replace it on this list in the future and not worry about making two lists at once. I do not think that I can get another season on the list right now and thus, there would be no point in doing a switching back and forth. I’ll see if I can understand my own ideas and plans while hopefully they do not have too many issues. I could just by myself another Survivor season, but am unsure if I will now.

Movie update: On the weekend, I was too busy to watch movies. On Wednesday, I watched The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and replaced it with The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. On Friday, since it was the only time when it worked out to add a new movie list, I added one with the six choices of Courageous, The Emperor’s New Groove, Minions, The Princess Bride, Taken, and Vantage Point. I saw The Princess Bride and replaced it with Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. On Saturday, I watched Celtic Woman’s original concert as I’m pretty sure that was the one I was on. I replaced that with Celtic Woman: A New Journey.

On Sunday, I finally had a chance to watch a movie again with lunch for the first time in three weeks. I saw Back to the Future part 3 and replaced it with Arrival, a movie I’m borrowing from my brother. Later that day, ABC wasn’t coming in so I couldn’t watch it. I did have a scab list conveniently devoid of any of the Sunday choices so I watched Rush Hour 2 from Saturday’s list and replaced it with Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day.

It was on Tuesday, 7-14-2020 when this episode was rolled and I could watch it. Since it was late, I had to update this blog on Wednesday that week since I never had a post ready for that Sunday. I can only hope that I did not have to watch another episode then and am pretty sure that I can rig it so that it won’t happen. I actually can rig things more than you might think and I should be able to in the end.

We begin with Bob mentioning that he didn’t like people laughing after Randy was voted out. When they get back home, he goes off on people as a result. Sugar talks about her lack of sympathy for Randy as he left. Corrine and Sugar have a bit of a fight with Corrine telling people how she doesn’t like the people here, even as she claims to like people outside of the game. At camp, Ken talks about how he does not think that Bob has much of a chance at winning the game yet still seeks to get rid of him. Do you notice how often someone says that about the eventual winners of the game? It always seems like ironic foreshadowing.

The tribe then gathers for a challenge. It is a loved ones challenge, but they don’t seem to have any of the loved ones there as they get messages shown on a phone that Jeff has. They will get the whole message after winning the challenge. No one will be exiled. Corrine isn’t picked for the challenge. This was after Susie and Crystal are chosen as captains. Susie gets to go first and chooses Matty for her team. Crystal picks Sugar, Matty picks Ken, and Sugar picks Bob. This makes the two teams Crystal, Sugar, and Bob with the yellow team with Ken, Matty, and Susie as the red team. The yellow team wins part one of the challenge and Bob wins the last part. Ken wants to take out Bob next if he doesn’t win the next immunity challenge.

On his private reward, Bob sees his wife Margie (I think that’s her name) show up in person right behind him. He then takes her to camp. Bob then whistles and the rest of the loved ones come to this place, reuniting with their families for now. Crystal is glad to see Andre. Corrine sees her brother. Ken tells his sister some of what’s going on in the game. Sugar gets emotional talking to her sister and part of her father’s ashes are brought here and dumped. Matty talks about his girlfriend, Jamie. He doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life without her so they get engaged. Susie talks about what the day means to her while Matty explains that the good things in life aren’t easy.

The next day, the people talk about what to do while Bob and Corrine go off on their own. Sugar thinks that Bob should be voted out next. Bob tells Corrine a story about how the ocean idol wasn’t actually lost, but reveals that it is just a ruse. This is another fake idol that Corrine has.

The contestants then go to the immunity challenge. It is a two part challenge. First, they answer four questions in order to earn balls. They then have to roll those balls down a hill into a target area. Since the challenge in all physics, Bob winds up winning it. Bob wants to blindside Matty.

Corrine and Bob work on their plan to use their fake idol to their advantage. The tribe does, in fact, want to vote out Corrine. Matty thinks about what to do. Corrine tells Ken about the idol and Ken wants to blindside Matty now as a result. Corrine thinks that this hair brained scheme might work. Bob also shows Crystal this idol as they plan to vote out Matty. But Crystal talks to Ken and Ken convinces her to vote for Corrine since that would force the idol out of the game. Ken thinks that this will work and make him one of the master strategic players of the game since he wants Matty out. Bob is convinced that things will work without the idol having to be played. Crystal is unsure of the mental parts of the game since she doesn’t know if the idol is real or fake.

We then go to tribal council. Jeff asks Susie if they can still feel old tribal lines. She gives a strange sort of answer. Everyone is asked about paranoia. Bob doesn’t think that he has it now since he has immunity. Crystal thinks that knowing who or what to trust is a problem. Ken thinks that the vote is very important. This tribal council sure feels very short to me. The votes are cast with Bob, Ken, and Corrine voting against Matty where Matty, Sugar, Crystal, and Susie vote for Corrine. She is voted out as a result, but she would have been saved if her idol were real. They sure drew out the no one is playing an idol thing at us for a while. I kind of like that. Matty was not voted out as a result, even though that’s how some of them actually wanted the vote to go. Corrine is voted out instead. Paranoia was the theme of the night and they see what happened next.

On the next Survivor, Bob and Ken make a deal that if Bob wins immunity, he would give it to Ken since Ken is upset that the vote went the way it did. Meanwhile, there are other things that are weird that are going on in the tribe as things wind down. In her final words, Corrine bitches about Sugar and says that she only likes Bob and Ken. This cast really wasn’t as likable as it could have been. I know that I’m friends with some of them on facebook. But I think that only a few of them are friends with me. I think that Marcus is and I can’t remember anymore offhand. I’d have to check. Maybe I'll put all the guesses in the finale post.

Total confessional count: Bob- 17, Sugar- 27, Matty- 27, Susie- 10, Ken- 23, Crystal- 30, Corrine- 32. New confessionals this episode: Susie- 1, Ken- 3, Crystal- 2, Corrine- 5, Bob- 3, Sugar- 3, Matty- 3. Special loved ones confessional count: Margie- 1.

Corrine was a notable enough player that she returned to the game in the second fans versus favorite season, Caramoan. She was one of only two players from before Heroes versus Villains to return for that season. She made it to the merge, but was voted out first of the new tribe and didn’t even get to serve on the jury as a result. This also would have put her in the audience during the controversial reunion show. Could she return to play the game again? I would put her chances of that at about 51%.

Blogger is changing and I hope that I like it and can get used to it over time. I may no longer be able to do the posts in the justified format I keep writing them in as they are switching to align right be default. Also note that I am now writing posts on China and will put them on Fridays when available. I can only hope that I can start doing that this coming Friday like I have planned. I can only hope that blogger does not change too much and I can still update the posts. Who knows what will change if this show isn’t on Wednesdays when and if it returns. At least be glad that I’m still blogging in it. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Team All-Stars

With no post of this blog on Sunday since I hadn’t seen an episode of Gabon or China by then, I thought that I might as well do another random post of this blog that I normally would. You should see one of them every Wednesday there is not a post on Sunday, as an earlier schedule said. Now I’ve done posts of this blog where I try to come up with a team of six people all from the same season to compete in some sort of future season with two tribes of all new players that also have some past connection of some sort between them.

Rules: 1- You cannot pick someone who has played Survivor after this season happened. Since the season that I’m doing this post on is on All-Stars, this means that anyone who was on this season that has played since All-Stars is not playing again on this season at least. 2- You must pick at least one person from all of the tribes that season if and when possible. This would typically mean that both a man and a woman would be picked, but this won’t be the case for Saboga as two men from this tribe have played again and the third is dead. I’m not going to bore you with other rules now. Maybe in a similar post like this in the future.

Let’s get to who I ruled out to get to this list. Since I can’t pick people who have played since All-Stars, this means that I can’t pick Amber, Rob Mariano, Colby, Ethan, Jerri, Rupert, or Tina. I’m not going to pick Rob Cesternino as he is busy with doing a podcast. I’m not picking Sue since she quit. I don’t think that I’ll go with Jenna Morasca either since she also quit, even for much more understandable reasons in the end. Also, Rudy is dead so it would be impossible to include him on Survivor again. Now let’s get to who remains as the six people.

Starting with the men, my first pick would be Tom. I think that he’s still doing well despite being older than some of the other players. I’m also going to go with Lex as well since I think that he would work good as a player. I just hope that he doesn’t have a Mohawk ever again. That hairstyle is worse than mullets are. Richard is my last pick since he should get to return, especially since he was, err, screwed, in a way, out of the all winners season.

Going with my picks for the women on this season, my first pick would be Alicia as she was quite the crazy player and it might actually be nice to see her again. I’m also picking Shii Ann as well since I feel that she would be a good person to be represented as well. Jenna Lewis is my last pick as I don’t know who else would be a good one in my mind at least.

Now I might as well make my case for why contestants from this season should return. Tina is one of the best winners in the minds of many fans so she should get to play some more in future seasons. Jenna Morasca has more that she should be able to do if they let her play the game again. Rob Cesternino loves Survivor a lot and it might be fun for someone else like Stephen Fishbach takes the reins of his podcast for a while so we can see him again. Richard may be controversial, but it would be all the more fun to see him return to the game again and prove himself.

Colby has even more to prove as he could yet again be the good player that he originally was when he had first played in future seasons again. Ethan proved how strong he was in Winners at War and he may yet do the show again. Jerri is strong and likable enough that she should be able to play again and do well the next time too.

Lex can still prove that he’s a great player and person even after many didn’t like him in this season. Kathy has more to prove on Survivor as well, which is why it would be great to see her play the game again. Alicia is still liked enough that she could prove that she wasn’t undeserving of coming back again like her tribe mates thought. Shii Ann has been offered to return past All-Stars so we may yet see here again. Tom is still well liked and should have no problem appearing on the show again.

Rupert is one of the most recognizable Survivor players thus far and should get to return again at some point. Jenna Lewis has more that she can still do outside of Survivor so it would be nice to see her again. Rob Mariano may not be done with the game as I’m sure if they want him back, he’ll come back at some point. Amber remains a bit underrated and should be able to prove herself again if she wants to.

If I could put these people into certain groupings that haven’t already been done, these as the groups that they’d be in: Heroes (Tina, Tom, and Ethan), Villains (Richard, Amber, Alicia, Lex, and Shii Ann), Favorites (Rupert, Jenna Morasca, Rob Cesternino, Tom, Richard, and Ethan), Brains (Rob Cesternino, Richard, Ethan, and Tina), Brawn (Rupert), and Beauty (Amber, Jenna Lewis, and Jenna Morasca).

That’s about it for this post. There isn’t much else to say. I will be back with a post on Gabon this Sunday so don’t worry about missing that yet. Things might be getting strange with this blog since there is a lot for me to write about, but not as much that I have to cover yet. I’ll still need more old seasons on DVD in the future and may yet watch Australia just to ensure that I have something to blog about. I was waiting to blog about Borneo again until later, but might move it up from where it is on the list currently. I do not know yet when or if I’ll get more past seasons on DVD and can only hope that it makes sense for me to add them to some list or another. I’ll figure out what to do and what to write here. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Survivor: Gabon episode 11: I was put on the Planet for this Show

Something that is worth noting about this episode is that this is a recap episode. You don’t see these on the show anymore and some have probably questioned whether or not they ever belonged as part of the show. The last season it appeared in was South Pacific. Often, it was good to have them air around the time of Thanksgiving so we wouldn’t have to worry about missing an entirely new episode. This is why the spring seasons don’t have these as much if at all. They instead decide to air one around that time or on that day itself and cause irritation to some as a result.

Let’s get to the idols from Island of the Idols part 2. This part is only going to include the successfully gotten idols from the island in the order they first appeared. Kellee won the idol that was good for three more tribal councils and she gave it to Dean the last time it could be played which was a successful play on Dean’s behalf, confusing many as to why he didn’t use this sooner.

In this old episode of The Good Wife, I talk about different things. I mention the CSI franchise. They were at one point wanting to do a 20th anniversary special of it at some point, but due to all the shutdowns in production of everything, I don’t know if that can still happen or not. I also talk about something I do called an annual Christmas boycott where I don’t buy a product from whatever company airs the first Christmas commercial of the year until the new year. This is due to Christmas creep. It was normally always K-Mart, but has also been Best Buy and could be other places as well. I also mention in this post that a dead person was rejecting help. But how could they ask for help in the first place?

I’ve decided that I will randomly stop sharing posts from that blog in this season’s blog posts, but I do plan to share more of them in the future at some point in time. I will explain more why in the next post. I will only share Madam Secretary blog posts for the rest of these Gabon posts. What is worth noting is that depending on what movies I watch, I might add more of these old posts after all.

It is worth noting that I’m working on a lot of posts for this blog at once on just this one season. And I will be adding a new season to its own new list with the next five choices at some point soon. I will let you know what season and when you will see this post with more information about it later revealed in the near future. I might also have to include a calendar of when you’ll see certain blog posts each month if there is a main blog post to share it in. I will be sharing some other blogs with the day of the week that I’ll be using for this blog thanks to the rule that I have where I can’t update more than one blog on one specific day and due to needing to post a lot of other blogs as well. I won’t even know or remember offhand what all I’m writing for what post without just reading it again.

You should note that Survivor China posts should be coming soon. They will be here on Fridays. But they will not be here on every Friday as I have to share that with other blogs as I don’t publish posts for more than one blog on the same day. Sharing is good. You will note in the last post when such an event would occur based on which time is free. Also note that I will have to wait until I’m done with Community in the near future (hopefully) which can only happen when I’m done with something else first. I am almost done with watching Dollhouse and Community as well. I will then start a new list like I have done at one point before and can only hope will last long enough.

I realize that I should mention the Thursday shows that I watch. I was watching Broke until it ended. I would watch Blindspot live, but the network isn’t coming in so I watch it later online. The same could be said of Council of Dads if I cared enough to keep up with it at all. (It will end after just one season so I will just cut my losses and not tune into it a second time.) I watch Don’t on ABC even though I am pretty sure that the promos were telling people not to watch it. I largely keep up with Burden of Truth and also watch To Tell the Truth.

There should be a quick note on the confessional count going into this episode. That note basically will say that I’m not sure what confessionals might be counted again that were already counted before so I will just count anything potentially new again in this post since there isn’t much else to say about it in the end and hope for the best outside of that. As you can tell, all the eliminated players are counted here again since to ignore them would be doing a disservice in my mind, especially to Dan.

Movie update: On Wednesday, I watched The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I replaced that with The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. On Saturday, I watched Rush Hour. I replaced that with Rush Hour 2. On Sunday, I had lunch out and thus didn’t watch a movie with a meal that Sunday. On Wednesday, I watched I am Sam. I replaced that with Ice Age.

On Friday, July 3, 2020, I rolled the next episode of Survivor to watch so I watched it. This created an issue with different blogs except for this one. For a while now, I had put The Good Wife blog posts on the first Friday of the month. Sometimes I’d have to post one on the second Friday of the month as well should the first Madam Secretary blog post of the month not be up yet. Thus, I had to yield it to my TV blog and delay The Good Wife blog until a random time which wouldn’t have caused this second update that it normally would have. Since I had just published a regular TV blog post the day before, I was not to the point where it was a low enough count since only one of the usual two readers had gotten to reading it at that point. Now I was able to update this blog, but might have to update my TV blog as well with this blog having a low number. That problem might go away soon for reasons I’ll get to later.

We begin with Jeff introducing various aspects of the game thus far. He talks about all of the people in the final seven. Fang made bad choices during the tribe pick ‘em and lost ten out of fourteen challenges. Only Corrine made it as far as she did out of the alliance that included herself, Marcus, Jacquie, and Charlie. I’m not even sure if that alliance was focused on that much throughout the game.

We see aspects of tons of the contestants’ audience videos. We don’t see them all and I don’t know if that is because some of them were recruited or not. Matty is the one who quoted the title of this one episode. The Fang tribe eats something they call Gabon pears. Randy found a leech and Matty goes to this place as well, also getting a leech after thinking that it would be okay. He pulls it off, even though you are supposed to burn them off since not doing it risks infection. Dan couldn’t find an idol. While the Kota tribe was together, Marcus and Jacquie had a showmance that Corrine disapproved of. While Sugar is on Exile Island, many people or just Corrine thought that she would do terribly.

Matty realizes that he loves his girlfriend, Jamie. Randy is upset that his dog died as he seems to care more about that dog than any other people. Marcus or Matty is upset that he lost his fourway. Some people really like fourways, but they don’t always work out. After the tribe swap, the Fang tribe blew getting good members yet again. Randy became a boon to his new tribe. People were upset when power player Jacquie was voted out of the game for being a member of the other tribe. Bob does a lot of things for his tribe. Corrine doesn’t like Bob that much or want to take him to the end.

On the picnic on the day of the double tribal council, Corrine continues to bitch about the people she is with since they annoy her greatly, to paraphrase a future player. They don’t even know what certain foods are that there are and are American ones. Sugar enjoyed her time at Exile Island so much so that she feels guilty that she gets to enjoy things her tribe doesn’t.

Sugar was duped into voting out her buddy Ace when she was lead to believe that he was gunning for her. She learns the truth later. Despite the fact that the hidden immunity idol could have saved them, both Randy and Marcus were voted out that night. Marcus was the very next person voted out of the game. But is the idol really gone? Corrine doesn’t think that Marcus deserved to be voted out. Bob made his fake idol in what Jeff called his first strategic move.

Corrine is annoyed when Sugar tries to straighten things out. Sugar is trying to be nice, but Corrine just does not like people like Sugar since she finds this person to be a freeloader. It seems like she is then venting to no one, but after hearing Randy’s voice, I realize that he’s there and wearing camouflage. She does not think that anyone in the jury would vote for Sugar. We are then reminded of the cookie incident as Randy wanted people to vote against him, thinking that he could save himself with an idol. But the idol that he got from Bob was a fake and Randy was voted out of the game.

On future Survivor episodes, it seems that something is on fire, there is a surprise for all of the players in the game, and interesting looking challenges. The men on a version of Kota are shown stripping and then jumping into the lake next.

Total confessional count: Corrine- 27, Bob- 14, Sugar- 24, Randy- 43, Charlie- 15, Marcus- 20, Michelle- 2, Matty- 24, Susie- 9, Ken- 20, Ace- 16, Crystal- 28, Gillian- 5, GC- 10, Jacquie- 1, Paloma- 3, Kelly- 4, Dan- 8. New confessionals this episode: Matty- 3, Susie- 2, Ken- 1, Ace- 1, Crystal- 5, Gillian- 0, GC- 0, Jacquie- 0, Paloma- 0, Kelly- 0, Dan- 1, Corrine- 7, Bob- 3, Sugar- 4, Randy- 4, Charlie- 0, Marcus- 1, Michelle- 0.

With not much else to add, I don’t think that there is much else to say this time around. If I’m able to finish watching Community soon, I will add Survivor: China to a new list and posts of it will come on all of the available Fridays in the future. But they aren’t all available, yet at least. I hope to explain more later and hope for the best with all these blogs of mine I have to juggle around each other. Look forward to more old seasons in the future. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
