Episode 41.6

I’ve been thinking a lot about the Shan music or song thing that both her and the people on Survivor do and I’m wondering if it is something that she made up or is based on an existing tune. I think that I had shared at least one thing that it could have been earlier in this season’s blog’s post. I plan to find two of them (if I can) and put them in future blog posts.

Now it is time to get to one time challenges from the sixth season. It is hard to remember all of these one off challenges which is why I applaud the editors of Survivor fandom for putting all of this info on the show on that site. I used to edit it myself until you needed an account to do that. I do not ever plan to get a fandom account as I waste enough time on that site without one.

Total Recall (immunity challenge from Storms): In this challenge, we get a typical memory challenge with a quiz added to it as well. Contestants had to memorize what an Amazon house looked like and then answer questions about it. The challenge could be done while social distancing.

Gone Fishin (immunity challenge from Trapped): In this challenge, the tribes had to catch as much fish as possible in an hour. The winning tribe could keep their fish, although Jeff made it seem like the losing tribe would as well. It is possible that this could be done while social distancing. I wouldn’t think that they would do it again since it is very boring with not much to it.

Up the Creek (immunity challenge from Pick-up Sticks): In this challenge, contestants had to find some animals in a word search and then find flags of the right animals that are around a small island that they have to paddle to. An individual version of this could possibly be done while social distancing.

Mud Bungee (reward challenge from Sleeping with the Enemy): In this challenge, contestants had to get colored flags from a mud pit while attached to a bungee cord. It is possible that an individual challenge of this could be done while social distancing. I remember liking this challenge.

Paddle (reward challenge from Sour Grapes): In this challenge, contestants had to dig up a paddle then take a boat to a crate and solve a trivia question. If they get it wrong, the puzzle will be black. If they get it right or after getting it wrong, they have to solve that puzzle to win the challenge. It is possible that they could design this to be done while social distancing.

Will Power (final immunity challenge from And Then There Were Four): In this challenge, contestants have to take a headdress that they built for themselves that then becomes attached by beads to a collar around their neck and hold it above their heads on a plank for as long as possible. This could be done while social distancing and should be done again.

There isn’t too much else to say as I wonder if anyone with an extra vote could still use that if they wound up deciding to use their shot in the dark die. You’d think that they would be able to, but I have no idea if they would or wouldn’t. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Ua returns to camp after their tribal council. Shan thinks that it was either Genie or Ricard. She thinks that Ricard grounds him in the game. But he is still untrustworthy of her since there is too much going on with the extra vote that he still has. Shan does want the advantage back, but he doesn’t seem to want to hand it over. Things are too complicated. He does give back the advantage which maybe he had to? She promises that he’ll get the next advantage of theirs.

It sounds like a merge is coming when the yellow tribe gets treemail, although they seem to ignore the additional part of it also mentioned. Also, does Xander seem kind of like Alec and Drew from San Juan del Sur? The blue tribe is uncertain of what’s going on.

Jeff tells us that this is a two part episode since there will not be a tribal council tonight in the two part episode going on right now. There are a lot of twists going into this challenge as people have to earn their way into the merge beyond what is going on right now. There will be two teams for a challenge and it seems like one is safe, maybe? Two of the players will have their fate decided by the winning team. And someone will get power. We get to a rock draw right before the show goes to commercial. What will happen?

In the second segment of the show, shows the reveal of who has blue, yellow, or grey. Naseer and Erika are the two sit outs in the challenge. Evvie is referred to by mistake as Eevee. Eevee is a Pokémon. Despite not having the same members, the blue tribe continues to do well. They win the challenge and are all immune at the first merged tribal council. Naseer is picked to join them while Erika will now then be exiled in a way from the others for two days.

In the third segment of the show, the winning team has Danny revealing that he picked Naseer to be safe since so many men were being voted out and they wanted a woman to be in danger instead. Danny wants Erika to be voted out first. Erika is uncertain of if she will last.

Xander talks about being in mergeatory. I like that name. Liana reveals what her power is to Shan and Tiffany is also there. Liana also tells Tiffany what is going on as well. Liana thinks that Tiffany is now a huge threat. Tiffany, likewise, doesn’t think highly of Liana anymore.

In the fourth segment of the show, the winners return to see the others and now all of them sans Erika are now together as a tribe? Xander points out that he’s not on a merge tribe yet and neither are the rest of the people who lost. He also points out that he’s the only man who can be voted out right now. Is there really a men versus women thing going on? Shan is worried that Erika is going to come back with an advantage. The racially diverse cast wants to work together with all of the black people joining each other in an alliance.

In the fifth segment of the show, Erika is surprised to learn that Jeff is showing up and she wonders what is going on and why he is here. She is given an hourglass that could decide that the losers of the previous challenge would win instead and get immunity with her joining them or if she wants to leave the game intact. She considers against doing this since her old tribe is safe. She could burn bridges with them. But they did hang her out to dry. What will happen? We don’t know as the episode ends here. Will she smash the hourglass?

On the next Survivor, we don’t know her decision, but she did have to reveal it to the others right before the challenge at hand. I think that it is better that she doesn’t do this even if the other tribe was mean to her first. But she also could be a target and won’t have immunity otherwise. What do you think will end up happening in the end? I think that she will let things be. But would that be the right choice?

Total confessional count: Xander- 9, Evvie- 12, Danny- 12, Naseer- 8, Deshawn- 9, Tiffany- 13, Sydney- 8, Shan- 15, Liana- 9, Heather- 1, Erika- 6, Ricard- 12.

New confessionals this episode: Ricard- 2, Xander- 2, Evvie- 2, Danny- 2, Naseer- 1, Deshawn- 2, Tiffany- 1, Sydney- 1, Shan- 3, Liana- 2, Heather- 0, Erika- 3.

Going into the merge, Heather still has a pathetic showing in the total confessional count and everyone who gets more than one confessional in an episode is doing better than she is in all of them combined. Why would her edit be so bad so far? Even Kelly Wiglesworth in Cambodia had more confessionals at this point, and she only had four by the end of her game. Shan has the highest confessional count with fifteen and now all of them over nine confessionals besides her as Evvie, Ricard, Danny, and Tiffany. While I do like Tiffany’s personality, I don’t see her winning or even making the end. We have quite the cliffhanger going into the next episode. What will happen? We’ll have to wait and see. There are a lot of unknowns. And, I’m pregnant. To be continued…

Episode 41.5

Once the fall schedule was in swing, I knew that I’d be creating a new blog about a show that would be airing on Wednesdays. That blog is up now and is about CSI: Vegas. Here’s a link to it here in this post. I had updated it on Wednesday since I somehow wound up too busy for quite a time to finish this blog post. I should be better at getting it done before the episode airs, but even while I do find time to blog still, I often am rushing things with all of the other things that I have to do.

https://adamdeckercsivegas.blogspot.com/

While I don’t yet know whether or not the show (CSI: Vegas) will air beyond the ten episode order that they have now or if it will continue airing on Wednesdays, I have decided that if it is airing during the winter hiatus of Survivor on Wednesdays, I will put this blog on hiatus (outside of any posts on old seasons of it) and make it the main blog until this one returns. This could be important, or the show could be over by then anyways. The rule would only apply when a new episode of that show airs.

I’m now going to get to the one time challenges from the fifth season. Reading about them again makes me think of just how many mental challenges we saw this season. I wish that more of them would have been used again because these go beyond the usual puzzle.

Flying Your Flag (immunity challenge from The Importance of Being Eldest): In this challenge, all of the contestants would be on a boat where they’d have to get flags from a station. Each contestant and only one for each particular task can get each flag. They can’t switch out players at any task. I don’t think that this could be done while social distancing unless this was changed into a relay race instead. I’d like to see this challenge done again.

Tan-dy Gram (immunity challenge from Gender Bender): In this challenge, contestants had to solve a puzzle where they rearranged shapes to match two images in front of them. This challenge would be done in pairs. I think that it is possible for a solo version of this to be done while social distancing.

Catch of the Day (immunity challenge from The Ocean’s Surprise): In this challenge, each tribe would have to separate their bins of fishes into four separate groups for the four separate fishes. I do think that this challenge could be done while social distancing if an individual one were ever done. This does seem like a simple challenge, but it seems like it could work again.

Thai 21 (immunity challenge from The Power of One): In this challenge, contestants would have to gather a set of flags. There are 21 of them and another one is different than the rest of them. They could not gather that flag until all of the other flags were gathered first. One can only take flags in groups of one, two, or three. The last flag would win immunity. This could be done while social distancing. I know this challenge because it appeared in an episode of Cyberchase. I do not know what an official name for it might be, so I might have to do more research into it.

Breathing Space (immunity challenge from Sleeping with the Enemy): A take on waiting to exhale, in this challenge, contestants had to survive being submerged underwater only breathing through a bamboo snorkel. Their time stops once they come up for air. The tribe, or contestants, if it were ever done that way, with the longest cumulative time underwater would win. It could possibly be done while social distancing. I’m not sure if it would be done again since it is too similar to other challenges.

Thai Numbers (immunity challenge from Desperate Measures): This challenge came in two rounds. The first round had people having to memorize Thai numbers with numbers in English. The second round had them using these numbers as coordinates to find buried titles with each title giving the location of another tile. I think that it is possible to do this while social distancing.

Knock-Out (reward challenge from While the Cats are Away): In this challenge, contestants have to compete in an obstacle course that came in stages set to eliminate players along the way. It seems like one of the more complicated challenges in the game. In it, contestants had to pair up which eliminated a player. Pairs had to go to the next stage which would eliminate others. They then had to go under a belly crawl and then go a wall climb. It would end with a balance beam. I do not think that this could be done while social distancing and I’ve had to see it to know what it was like. I missed a lot of Thailand due to various reasons towards the end.

Slip Through Your Fingers (final immunity challenge from the episode of the same name): While doing this challenge, contestants had to do a certain pose while holding coins between their fingers in a hot place. If they run out of coins, they would lose the challenge, their chance of immunity literally slipping through their fingers. It is the first time the winner of the season won final immunity. It could easily be done while social distancing and I’m surprised that it has never been used again.

I realize that when I mentioned something in the previous post, you might not have known what I was talking about, although you probably did. I made a reference to the song Shake it off by Taylor Swift when I mentioned part of the chorus, I think, or a different part of the song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfWlot6h_JM

With a challenge in the fourth season called Go Fly a Kite, I feel that it is worth mentioning the final song from the movie Mary Poppins. That song is Let’s Go Fly a Kite. It still is a standout from that movie that I’ve only seen once thus far, but still remembered quite well before watching this song again.

Now while there is still more to wonder about the advantages of this season, I’m just going to post one last paragraph before getting to the episode in question. You might want a better explanation as to why this blog is late. Well, it was a family visit at my house that started on Thursday and I knew was going to happen on Wednesday. They were here until Monday which prevented me from doing this post on Friday or Sunday. Thus, this post is on Tuesday. You should see tomorrow’s episode on time. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Genie is glad that she survived tribal council and was on the right side of the votes this time. She also looks for an idol and finds an advantage. The whole tribe talks about it as a group, not wanting to open it. They leave it alone, unopened. Shan wants to open it while Genie is away. Ricard knows this. Ricard wants her extra vote in the meantime. He convinced Genie that Shan is going to say the phrase just to see if the other tribe has it and test it if you will.

Sydney wants to be a mermaid while also doing a lot of fishing as well. Danny, in the meantime, wants to turn on the women in his tribe since the men are getting voted out of others. That’s sexist! Not really. I see his point. He wants to work with Deshawn, but not so much Naseer. Naseer still learns that they want to work with him and that they want to throw the challenge.

Evvie wants to make Xander feel safe although Xander wants to do this. Xander and Evvie talk to each other about wanting to hide advantages while Tiffany is around Liana. Liana looks through his bag and sees the extra vote. He tells Tiffany about the idol, but lies and says it was found recently. She knows this isn’t true since he said the secret phrase. She also knows from him about the extra vote, I think.

In the second segment of the show, the tribes gather for the reward challenge and Naseer is revealed to have the beware advantage on his tribe that it appears that no one else on his tribe knows about yet. This is also an immunity challenge which seems early in the episode already. I guess that a lot of shit is going down after this challenge. Will there be another summit? The blue tribe does well. I guess that they weren’t trying to throw the challenge that well, or at all. The green tribe loses with blue tribe being second. Liana and Shan are taking a journey together. Wait, Shan is a pastor? Remind me not to ever go to her church. She should have stuck with Family Feud. Shan is nervous about the journey.

In the third segment of the show, Shan thinks that you can’t get through this game without trusting someone. Shan and Liana talk about some things while revealing some details to each other. They promise to work with each other. Shan says that if she’s voted out, Ricard is the reason why and can’t be trusted as a result. Shan reveals more of her back story and how she became a Christian. But she still seems too deceitful in some ways. Shan thinks that she’s going to protect her vote while Liana wants to risk hers. Is this always going to be the same decision most of the time? This time, she gets an advantage that can get her an advantage of theirs if they have it.

In the fourth segment of the show, Ricard wants to pretend that he’s on Genie’s side. Genie isn’t sure that she can trust him. Maybe now’s the time to make a wish. Shan is honest about what happened on the summit. She talks to Genie about what happened and Genie reveals that Ricard wanted to vote her out. Ricard is worried that he might be a target. I don’t think that Shan is going about this the right way. Ricard says that he is not voting for Shan. He doesn’t want to give the extra vote back. Shan isn’t sure who to vote for and this could be an interesting tribal council.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to the tribal council. I do kind of like it getting a whole act to itself in the future. Jeff asks what happened between Ricard and Genie before Shan returned. He thinks that he could be unsure. Shan admits that she wanted to pit the person against each other. Ricard says that he and Shan have been together for every vote. Jeff thinks that there is no blood since there is not a jury yet. Ricard isn’t sure that this is true since the remaining members of his tribe could be targets. Shan thinks that voting is more powerful this time. Who is the individual she can trust? And will she play her idol? We’ve seen a lot of dumb players this time around. But will tonight have one of them in Shan? Or will she trust her alliance with Ricard? I’m surprised that Ricard gets a vote, but it is Genie that is voted out of the game in the end.

On the next Survivor, there is a drop your buffs moment, but it does not seem like it is a merge like they are hoping for instead. They say that there has never been anything like this before. But what is going on, exactly? Is this not a switch? Or not a typical switch? What else could it be if not a merge or a switch? What else is even left that it could even be instead?

Total confessional count: Deshawn- 7, Tiffany- 12, Sydney- 7, Shan- 12, Liana- 7, Heather- 1, Erika- 3, Genie- 7, Ricard- 10, Xander- 7, Evvie- 10, Danny- 10, Naseer- 7.

New confessionals this episode: Tiffany- 3, Sydney- 1, Shan- 3, Liana- 1, Heather- 0, Erika- 0, Genie- 2, Ricard- 2, Xander- 2, Evvie- 1, Danny- 1, Naseer- 2, Deshawn- 0.

I was going to post more on the confessional count, but I’m just going to wait just a bit. Note that there are some over 9 confessionals in the double digits now. I’m now going to post the new blog schedule for November. This isn’t much of a change and isn’t really changing that much. In fact, you still might see a post meant for Wednesday in this blog if I can’t get it done then. But you won’t see a post on an old Survivor season on any of those days.

There isn’t much else for me to say this time around. I just hope that I can get what I want to of all of the blogs that I want to do tomorrow and all of the other blogs that I have as I have majorly big posts to write in my TV and Good Fight blogs to have ready soon. I can only hope that something will be done pretty soon with all of the updates ready that need done. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 41.4

One of the things that was an issue with the upcoming schedule could have been an issue if I were still using the old laptop. While I have switched to a newer one, I still had it as an option if I wanted to use it to blog about Survivor on this instead of that one. I might have done that since I have been recording shows that compete against Survivor. I finished using my laptop to record the rest of Riverdale’s current season before the new one starts shortly thereafter. And this was after a midseason hiatus that wound up lasting longer than the one between seasons. I will now be keeping up with Legends of Tomorrow instead in its place while still giving priority to Survivor. Some of the recording order and potential might change during Advent and Lent, but I wouldn’t be so sure of that. I can only hope there aren’t issues with what I would like to keep up with.

Let’s get to the one time challenges from the fourth season. I realize that it is possible that I might have to skip seasons when doing these looks at one time challenges in the off chance that a season did not have a challenge in it that never reappeared. I’ll let you know if that’s why I skipped it.

Coconut Maze Run (immunity challenge from No Pain, No Gain): In this challenge, contestants have to move their coconuts through a maze using a pulley system, switching callers once each one is through. I have no idea if this could be done while social distancing as I’d have to see it done again. I would guess not, but maybe it could be. I bet that some people wouldn’t like having to mess with their coconuts on national TV at an essential part of the game that must be shown.

Life’s a Tapestry (immunity challenge from The Winds Twist): In this challenge, all the contestants had to do was solve a tapestry puzzle. I’d have to see this done again to know if it would even be a challenge that works at all. Maybe this could be done while social distancing? I don’t know how a tribal challenge could be done that way most of the time.

Go Fly a Kite (reward challenge from Jury’s Out): In this challenge, contestants have to fly a kite to the height of 300 feet to win. This could easily be done while social distancing. I wouldn’t know if they would have a challenge this simple again in Survivor as there wasn’t much to it. But since a lot of the challenges nowadays, especially post merge, are just watching the contestants stand around without doing much of anything waiting for all of them to drop outside of the winner, than I’m surprised this hasn’t been done again in the show’s history.

High Stepping (immunity challenge from Two Peas in a Pod): In this challenge, contestants had to walk on stilts in some way against the other player and avoid being the one to fall off. This could not be done while social distancing.

After doing some quick research, it turns out that what I’ve been calling twist island is actually called the summit. It is good to know the official name for things. Now all of these twists at once are going to be really complicated to keep track of. For one, what if the vote steal is used on you? Does that mean that you can’t use the shot in the dark die since you can’t give up your vote? Also, I did some research and it was Genie that voted against JD last week. If I had to guess, this could be the she that JD isn’t sure he can trust again. But we’ll have to wait until this episode airs to see what the pronoun game is about. Enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, we return to the tribe with Genie upset that she was out of the group decision and voted for the wrong person. Shan reveals to Genie that there was an extra vote that Brad had. JD is upset about this. He gets his extra vote back. He is convinced that fool me once, shame on, shame on you. Fool me, you can’t get fooled again. Maybe Shan was the she he was talking about from the promo last week.

We then get to the reward challenge. The first place tribe will get a visitor who can teach them about how to survive. The second place tribe only gets a fish. That’s the reward? It’s just a fucking fish! At the reward, Heather, who we are finally seeing for the first time ever, struggles bigly at the challenge which leaves the green and yellow tribes fighting for first and the blue tribe not even in this. Heather is just not quick enough at the challenge. The green tribe comes in first. The yellow tribe easily gets second. She gets upset over her loss, crying in front of everyone. But everyone pulls for her. She doesn’t like being a failure and is the oldest person here this season, I think. Jeff then tells people to apply for Survivor. I think that they have enough white people for a few future seasons. Otherwise, I might.

In the second segment of the show, the Yaser or yellow tribe, despite only getting second, seems to be celebrating their victory pretty well. Tiffany gives a speech about this as they get their fish. And they enjoy turtles that seem to fight really hard and be very quick.

The green tribe enjoys their man named Nathan who teaches them a lot of different things. Ricard now wants to get rid of Genie since he thinks that they can survive well without her. Meanwhile on the blue tribe, Erika is eager for a tribal council to vote someone out. Does this mean that she will be voted out next from this tribe? Or is she actually in control? Erika tells Deshawn that she wants to vote out Sydney. He wants to vote out Erika and tells Sydney about this. Sydney thinks that people just hate her in order to hate her. The haters gonna hate. Just shake it off, shake it off.

In the third segment of the show, the people on the blue tribe continue talking about voting out Erika and Deshawn suggests to Danny that they throw the challenge. Danny doesn’t want to do this. I bet that if he were on the White Sox, he wouldn’t hesitate to let the mob dictate what would happen. But he is not a baseball player. He plays football. They have to remember that they lose their flint if they lose the challenge. Heather sits out the challenge.

It would seem that the blue tribe is doing well outside of Deshawn’s effort. He is upset that the yellow tribe is doing so bad so that he can’t throw it as well. He reties knots and they still get them undone. He does bad at the ring throwing part. But Naseer starts tossing instead. The yellow tribe comes from behind and gets first place. JD struggles on the green tribe leading to Naseer getting second place for his tribe. Deshawn is upset at the loss. This sends the green tribe to tribal council. Shan gives a confessional after the challenge and wants to vote out the overconfident JD.

In the fourth segment of the show, a lot of things happen at total drama island. Shan wants to get JD to give the advantage to her. She is concerned about what JD might want to do. She wants to get rid of JD and keep the extra vote for herself. Genie wants to use the shot in the dark die. Shan wants to be an assassin, but not a villain. She keeps using this song in her head. It is actually being done out loud for others to hear. Does anyone know if this is a real song? I might like to look it up sometime. If you have the link to it, please put it here. She is torn between voting out Genie and voting out JD. But there is only a one in six chance that Genie would be safe from a shot in the dark die. And I don’t think that JD’s quote about never trusting her again has been said though, right?

In the fifth segment of the show, Genie feels defeated. Ricard gets hurt at every vote out. Shan thinks that it isn’t easy to vote people out after all. Sandra would disagree. JD wonders how people would know about certain things. Genie talks about being blindsided. People are scrambling. Genie thinks that all of the other people on the tribe are voting against her. JD wants people to say what they are going to do. Jeff points out how complicated that statement was. No one wants to go home.

JD doesn’t think that he’s playing the game he wants to be playing. Jeff points out that he doesn’t know what the journey was without perspective in the game. People try to convince Genie that others are with her. But they have to remember that there’s a 5 in 6 chance that her die does nothing. People think that they have bonded a lot on this tribe. Shockingly, Genie didn’t play her die. JD gets voted out of the tribe after all. And Shan’s con was a success. She can keep the advantage, right?

On the next Survivor, people are fending for themselves, Genie gets a beware advantage, they look through Xander’s things and find his advantage, wanting him out, and someone is concerned about the women having the numbers on a tribe. Will we see the blue tribe again at all?

Total confessional count: Erika- 3, Genie- 5, Ricard- 8, Xander- 5, Evvie- 9, Danny- 9, Naseer- 5, Deshawn- 7, JD- 12, Tiffany- 9, Sydney- 6, Shan- 9, Liana- 6, Heather- 1.

New confessionals this episode: Liana- 0, Heather- 1, Erika- 1, Genie- 3, Ricard- 1, Xander- 0, Evvie- 1, Danny- 3, Naseer- 0, Deshawn- 2, JD- 3, Tiffany- 1, Sydney- 1, Shan- 2.

JD had the most confessionals with twelve. The next highest is a tie with nine between Tiffany, Shan, Evvie, and Danny. Despite having her first confessional, Heather is still the lowest with just one. Now as for this episode, we see a string of people with zero confessionals among Liana, Naseer, and Xander. The highest was a tie between JD, Genie, and Danny. The people with two are Deshawn and Shan.

Now I might have a family visit coming soon that could interfere with this blog being posted on time. I have a planned workaround for that in case I need to do that. I’m still going to go ahead and post the planned blog post schedule for November.

I don’t think that I’ll be able to blog about any other seasons of Survivor yet before this year is over. But I am hoping that at least one post will be made on the season of China sometime this year. There are at least two rules that I’m hoping to apply to it that I’ll explain in that season’s post. Well, maybe three of them. Hopefully it will make more sense then. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 41.3

There is something a bit confusing worth mentioning over the gender of Evvie. After the season was filmed, Evvie’s gender identity became gender non binary, although Evvie still accepts she as a pronoun. I will not be using a pronoun to talk about Evvie as I will just say Evvie and avoid pronouns. After all, it worked for a while with Marshall Ericson in regards to Jenkins.

Now let’s get to the one time challenges from the third season. There were only two of them that I could find the whole season. I do like how Survivor fandom has all of this information. I just hope that there will come a time in the future where I don’t need it for this blog anymore as I liked giving up fandom for Lent and almost certainly wouldn’t do that until I done with challenge research and idol reason. I am closer to done than not with idol ones, but not the other.

Movin’ on up (immunity challenge from The Young and Untrusted)- In this challenge, contestants have to relocate their camp and everything in it to another location up a hill. This challenge could not be done while social distancing. But it does seem like a good teamwork based challenge and should be done again at some point in the future.

Puzzle of Shields (immunity challenge from The Twist): In this challenge, all contestants have to do, really, is solve a puzzle. An individual version of this could easily be done while social distancing. If I had to imagine, if this were ever to appear again, they’d combine it with another challenge and this would be the second part, or The Equalizer at 8/7 Central on Sundays unless delayed due to sports.

There are some more things for me to think of as this challenge goes on. I might have to tweet Jeff to see if the person who has the beware advantage can still use the shot in the die. If they can’t use their vote anyways, you’d think that they could still use it. But if they have to give up their vote and don’t have one to give up, then you’d think that they couldn’t use it in the end. I also don’t know if someone is allowed to give their shot in the dark die to another player. I wouldn’t know why anyone would do that, but if they aren’t allowed to, you’d hope that they’d know.

I wonder if the other contestants will regret not taking their chance to get rid of Xander. He could wind up with more advantages and could use it to get rid of Tiffany, someone who walked past the idol at least twice before someone else found it. That might be her ultimate fate. Of course, the editors could be misleading us. They probably do that more than Ryan Seacrest does. They did it long before he did. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Liana gets emotional over the wasted opportunity to vote out Xander. Tiffany also notices the beware advantage. She noticed that it was just sitting there. Both Evvie and Liana notice this as where. She has to take a secret boat ride later. This is not the same one that Xander has, which I thought that it might be. Liana is upset that she didn’t notice the advantage.

On another tribe, Brad finds a beware advantage. It is also a secret boat ride to a secret location where they will probably do the risk or protect your vote choice. When is the boat ride? Does it stay there all night for them? How many of these are there?

On the blue tribe, Danny’s name was brought up earlier on night one. It is brought up to him now. We also see Naseer being brought up on the tribe as well. Sydney finds the advantage and now has to get on the boat. But what about the other beware advantages in the game?

In the second segment of the show, JD wants people on the internet to shut up about idols being easy to find. Have you looked in a hole in a tree? Or whether cameras keep pointing to? Isn’t that one of the Gibbs rules? Always watch the watchers. JD is now convinced that someone else has the idol. Some think that there isn’t an idol. It turns out that Brad found the idol and Genie notices. He knows that Xander said the phrase. His phrase is: “I didn’t realize this until now, but broccoli is just small trees.” The remaining phrase is: “I’m as confused as a goat on Astroturf.” Brad tells his other ally, Shan, about both of the advantages, with Genie knowing about only one of them. He creates a fake body in his bed before leaving on the boat. He thinks that it is like Ferris Bueller’s Day off.

All three of them make it to twist island. They have to choose between a tarp or a steal a vote. If they all choose a tarp, they all get that. If they all chose steal a vote, they all lose it. If it is a split decision, only those that chose to steal a vote will get something. Sydney chooses a tarp to not risk her vote. Brad wants to play the game by choosing steal a vote. Tiffany is unsure so she waits for now. She openly talked about wanting to steal a vote. But what if she chooses Xander’s and he still can’t vote? Would she get nothing at all?

In the third segment of the show, we return to each of the people looking at their treemail. Only Brad got something from it. The women picked tarps and got nothing as a result. We then get to the tribes gathering for the immunity challenge. Brad mentions his secret phrase which he kind of butchers, but I guess counts in some sort of way? Did he get it anywhere close to right? Xander does his part by saying his thing again as well. Both first and second place tribes get fruit.

At the challenge, Brad and Xander have a moment together acknowledging what they said. The yellow tribe struggles a lot during this challenge once again. JD totally fails at the challenge when he takes over. It soon becomes an equal challenge between all three tribes. The yellow tribe gets their first win when they come in second. The green tribe will be voting someone out.

In the fourth segment of the show, Brad has two advantages, but can’t use either one. He still wants to influence the vote by getting JD voted out. He gets caught with an advantage due to being sloppy and now people can’t trust him. Both Shan and Ricard know about the extra vote. They think that they can’t trust JD or Brad. But Brad might offer better moral for the camp. JD talks to Shan about why he didn’t mention the advantage. He wants to give her the advantage, which could be one of the biggest mistakes in Survivor history. Shan thinks that she now has JD in her pocket. She doesn’t want to get rid of family and isn’t sure that she wants to let anyone go.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Shan talks about how she doesn’t want to vote anyone out. Has she still not decided? And could she use the extra vote? I don’t think that she can even if JD is voted out. JD feels that he did poorly at the challenge. Ricard thinks that he would go with an alliance over keeping the tribe strong. Brad thinks that they have to build trust. JD admits that he thinks that he lost trust in the game. JD thinks that he is the wrong person to be voted out as it could make things worse for others. JD likes the show Survivor and says it is part of what made him who he is. He is glad that he got to do it. JD doesn’t use the die that he could. Brad is voted out with JD getting a vote as well. But who voted for JD? It wasn’t Brad. Was it Shan?

On the next Survivor, something crazy is happening on the yellow tribe, Sydney is doing something crazy and getting emotional, JD isn’t sure how he can trust “her” again, and something seems to be like one is volunteering for a challenge or something like that. I missed who voted for who. I wonder why we did not see Genie’s thoughts on any of the vote throughout the episode.

Total confessional count: Deshawn- 5, Brad- 7, JD- 9, Tiffany- 8, Sydney- 5, Shan- 7, Liana- 6, Heather- 0, Erika- 2, Genie- 2, Ricard- 7, Xander- 5, Evvie- 8, Danny- 6, Naseer- 5.

New confessionals this episode: Naseer- 1, Deshawn- 1, Brad- 5, JD- 2, Tiffany- 2, Sydney- 3, Shan- 3, Liana- 2, Heather- 0, Erika- 0, Genie- 1, Ricard- 1, Xander- 0, Evvie- 0, Danny- 0.

Now I have no idea what might be going on with the beware advantage. Will they have to replace the one that Brad had? I’m guessing that they would have to. Or maybe only two advantages would work and be part of the game? I’m guessing that we’ll just have to see. And what else will appear on Twist Island? I also have the feeling that I should write a post now on the greed that happens in Survivor. That could be another twist: an island that deals with all of the seven deadly sins, such as greed, or one that deals with something like temptation, but not be a repeat of what FOX owns and thus couldn’t be use or at least, not under that same name. Greed doesn’t pay. It seems to be more likely to cause a Survivor’s downfall than pride is. Of course, they are about the same thing in Survivor, if not really. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
