Hiatus

In case you were wondering what’s happened with this blog, I just haven’t had the time for some things and am also having to adult more than I ever have before. I can’t get back in the grove of this or other blogs yet. And I certainly wasn’t expecting to go on hiatus again so soon after the previous one had just happened. I have three different episodes of three different seasons that are partly written with a recap done but the rest not yet done. Still, I knew that a hiatus could happen again which I why I wrote this all purpose post for this blog.

http://adamdeckercsicyber.blogspot.com/2022/12/tech-when-i-take-break-from-blogging.html

It feels dumb to go back on hiatus again so quickly, having done only one post on the last season and still not having the season finale written and published. I don’t know yet if I will be back on time with the new episodes of the new season. I probably won’t. I also don’t know yet if I will be watching the show live or recording it for later. It is up against the final season of The Flash and I might want to record it and be better off that way in the end.

Things were terrible with getting caught up on this blog as I couldn’t even return when I wanted to and I have no idea when or if I’ll have time for things. I don’t know just how bad it will be if I do record this for later and blog about it later as I won’t know when I can see that. Here I was hoping that the upcoming season might be the first one ever where not one of the posts were delayed even just a mere day from when the episode aired. Now that wouldn’t have happened anyways given my loyalty to the blog I have on CSI: Vegas.

Once again, an explanation will come later as to why my blogs are on hiatus. I don’t want to get behind in my blogs, but it is better if I don’t do them or focus on them at all. It’s hard to trend the line. We’ll see just how long I’m gone this time around.

Episode 43.12

Well, it’s going to be a bit hard keeping track of why all this blog was delayed as I never had to put a blog on a show on hiatus during an ongoing season before. But I need to get to the last two episodes of the previous season and wonder that since it has been since April that a post of this blog has not been missed or delayed then I sure wonder what all can still happen. There are other habits of mine that can delay this blog like reading magazines to the side and I even want to stay caught up on those to an extent which is why the previous episode was delayed.

Of course, I missed the deadline with staying caught up on that, wondered if I still cared about deadlines with that, and ultimately decided that with all that was going on in life, I can extend deadlines a bit, but still want to get caught up. I’m not sure if this makes any sense to anyone. Well, I am autistic after all. What I say makes complete sense to absolutely no one else at times.

Let’s get to the one time challenges from the thirty-eighth season. I still have a lot to do before I bring back this blog by finishing this post and the next one. So let’s not get to too much dilly dally as I write the needed three lines of this paragraph and get to the next one.

In Through the out Door (second immunity challenge from It’s Like the Worst Cocktail Party Ever): In this challenge, each tribe must climb a ladder, get a bag through a bamboo frame, get the bag free and untied to get a monkey’s fist, get that fist through a hoop to release a gate, and then solve a slide puzzle. It is possible that an individual version of this challenge could be done while social distancing.

Planks a Lot (reward challenge from I’m the Puppet Master): In this challenge, players have to swim out in pairs to get planks in a crow’s nest that is taken back to shore and used to solve a plank puzzle. An individual version of this challenge could be done while social distancing.

Odyssey 6 (first immunity challenge of I See the Million Dollars): In this challenge, players must navigate through rope obstacles, get over platforms, get a bag of numbers crossing a balance beam, use those numbers to solve a lock, and complete a vertical puzzle. This could be done while social distancing.

Continuing on with songs from A Christmas Celebration, I’m now sharing The Wexford Carol by Celtic Woman. I quite like this song and how it covers everything in rhyme. I wonder why this isn’t a more well known song at times.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvi8DAGUu5I

Having shared the fiddle solo version of In the Bleak Midwinter, I might as well cover the song version of it from Home for Christmas that Celtic Woman did. This was a bonus song not included in the concert for some reason or another.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6h5r0J4rG0

Since I shared one of the Thomas the Tank Engine Christmas songs, I will now share their other one called Winter Wonderland, which is not to be confused with the other song of that same name which is more well known and will be covered later, in next week’s potential post.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opndJ0aFQVM

The next song that I’m sharing from The Nightmare Before Christmas is the Town Meeting Song. In it, Jack explains Christmas to the citizens of Halloween town. It makes you wonder if town meetings would be more interesting if people did songs for groups there like this.

The next football team update will sadly not be one of the last. I need to figure out who is the best of the three teams between the Jets, Giants, and Seahawks. You see, despite being named New York in both of their names, both the Jets and Giants play their games in New Jersey. The Seahawks play in the state of Washington. The only other team that could have gotten in here was one that played in Virginia. But the Washington [D.C.] Commanders play in Maryland. I’m not sure that I need to remind you why these states are important in ranking the football teams, but if you read my posts in this blog relating to March Madness, then you would know.

I’m not going to bother with reminding you about this as, well, it isn’t too important and all you really need to know is that three teams start with the next ranking and their seasons from 2021 onward are how they are ranked. The Jets beat the Giants. The Seahawks beat the Giants. The Jets and Seahawks won’t play each other until January 1st. With the Giants already the lowest of these teams, I will have to wait until this game is played to see which team will be the highest. Then I’ll get to the last of the current rankings of the NFL teams until something changes. I will put the rest of the updates in my CSI: Vegas blog instead of this one. It may already be up by the time this one’s up due to the hiatus of this blog that wound up happening.

I am pretty sure that of my three lists that I have going right now, only two things have Christmas episodes that will be the next holiday related thing on them to watch. I’m not entirely sure, but this could be the case. Both of them are NCIS. One is NCIS season 9. The other is NCIS season 10. I’ll have to check the other ones later. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, the tribe talks about Sami’s blunder and why everyone voted for him. Owen still wants to drive a wedge between the remaining women so he tells Cassidy that Jesse said that Karla wanted to vote out Cassidy. Karla puts on crocodile tears to put on this show that Cassidy should not believe such a terrible thing. Karla then wants Jesse to bail her out, but he instead throws her under the bus when Cassidy asks him about it. We then get to the next challenge. In the very close challenge, it is the blue team of Owen, Karla, and Cody who wins.

In the second segment of the show, we get to the people on the reward. Karla says that she doesn’t have an idol to the other two players, a lie. They aren’t sure what to believe as they feel that she should have played it by now. The others still want to vote out Karla. The people back at camp think that Karla should be voted out. And they are convinced of her having an idol.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. Should I ever talk more about the challenges? Oh, wait. You can’t tell me as I got rid of comments. Karla mentions having a hand injury on possibly both of her hands. Karla keeps getting hurt. Cassidy wins the challenge after a fumble. Karla talks about having an idol even as she lost her challenge.

In the fourth segment of the show, Gabler thinks that it is likely that he might be voted out as he doesn’t have an idol or shot in the dark. Many think that they will be save and convince others not to target them since they have idols. It is hard to tell for sure who might be going home due to the rule where people talk about blindsides and get blindsided. Cody wants to target Karla. Jesse wants to be more brutal and target Cody. Jesse wants to play his idol and spook Karla into playing hers. He tells a lot of people about this and Jesse has to surrender one of his idols to Cody to go along with the plan. There are a lot of things that could happen and go wrong. I’ve no idea what will happen.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Man, I’m tired. At least I can ensure that I’m going to do better in the finale post. Karla had her challenge failure. Half the tribe wants to play their idols. Jeff mentions that these potential idol plays could be bluffs. Cody says that he won’t be one of the people getting voted out tonight. Owen isn’t counting himself out yet. Cody is certain that he’s going to stick around after the vote. Why Cody didn’t show his idol before the vote is beyond me.

We then get to the moment of truth: idol play. Jesse plays his idol for Owen. Karla plays one for herself. No one else plays an idol. The votes are read and Cody gets voted out with an idol? Man. This season is about hard choices if you have to get rid of your own idol by voting out the person who has it. As usual, the tribe has to be taken to a new beach for the finale. Finale beach. Also, how do you explain this to the person who was voted out and has to leave? He has to make like a tree and get out of here and it’s about as funny as a screen door on a battleship.

On the next Survivor, something happens of some sort or another as I can’t really tell a damn thing from that promo as television doesn’t like to tell us what’s going to happen next for some reason. Ugh. I even complained about that in my TV blog.

Total confessional count: Gabler- 23, Owen- 27, Jesse- 25, Cody- 24, Cassidy- 12, Karla- 21. New confessionals this episode: Jesse- 4, Cody- 2, Cassidy- 1, Karla- 3, Gabler- 2, Owen- 3.

It is a bit hard for me to explain the Fadam Secretary blog of mine, but it is basically a way of filling in posts that won’t be able to be done. Thanks to the hiatus, that blog is up now, but I won’t talk about it until the new season of this show starts. I have had a lot of time to write these blog posts during the hiatus so, of course, I had done a lot of that with my spare time, ha ha. I wish that was the case. I also don’t know if the schedule will be close to accurate in the end. There’s a lot of uncertainty still as I bring these blogs back. Speaking of which, the post on the season finale will appear on the 15th of February at the very latest. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Hiatus

This blog has gotten a bit wonky recently in terms of how it has been updated. And I’m going to take a break from it for a bit before I get to anymore posts on the episodes of season 43. You see, I do not have enough time to write these episodes with what is going on in my life and want to take a break until I have such time until I have the time. This will not be the only blog going on hiatus, although there might be a few of them (I hope) that won’t have to or I can do during this time.

I won’t tell you why here as the post hiatus posts will be explained in my CSI: Cyber blog which I will link to here once it is up. This should at least give me time to catch up on various things like writing the foreign language paragraphs that need done in addition to everyone else outside of the recaps. I will see you hopefully in January. Note that I’m also not sharing old season posts until I’m done with the last two episodes of season 43. I’ll also post a new schedule when I can as you can ignore the ones that I have done since these aren’t important or will be used anymore right now. I have a lot to figure out and will be glad to have more time to spend to do it. Until then, I’ll see you later.

Episode 43.11

While I haven’t talked about it as much or all the time, since I now have a blog where I cover tech in blog posts, I might cover how my blogs affect other blogs of mine. I should express my annoyance with that even though I should be more in control that I am with that. These are my blogs after all. I do have some limited control over some of what happens with it so I will do and change some of the timing of it when it works out. Basically, I have three days of the week occupied with four blogs right now and this will change over time with me ready to do blogs at other times. I might even do certain movie lists on certain days of the week in order to help me out like this.

Next, I would want to get to the one time challenges from the thirty-sixth season, but for the third time, there are none. That season, Ghost Island, is the first season with all new players not to have any unique challenges as the other two ones so far were all star seasons with all returning players. I thus must go to the one time challenges from the thirty-seventh season.

Open (reward/opening challenge from Appearances are Deceiving): In this challenge, there is a set up between the two tribes. One tribe got to pick the other tribe’s perceived weakest two members of each gender before picking their own tribe’s strongest perceived members of each gender. The other tribe would then pick the three obstacles that they would have to do. It is possible that something like this could be done while social distancing, although I’m unsure how or if they could change this challenge to be done in random seasons instead of this specific one.

Carry on (reward challenge from Aren’t Brochachos Just Adorable?): In this challenge, a member from each tribe would be strapped to a bag of coconuts and carried by the others. While racing to the beach, the person with the coconuts will go over an obstacle to get rings on a balance beam and then toss those rings onto pegs. Once the four rings are on the four pegs, they would win.

Ring Leader (immunity/only challenge from There’s Gonna be Tears Shed): In this challenge, players must swing a long pendulum through a frame around a statue. They cannot lose momentum or have their statue knock over. They also have to switch hands every 15 minutes. This challenge could be done while social distancing.

A Hand out (immunity challenge from So Smart They’re Dumb): In this challenge, contestants must balance a pole connected to water while standing on a perch where if they step off the perch or lose their bucket, they are out of the challenge. This could be done while social distancing.

Now should be the time that I put a Persian paragraph that I have written and translated via Google translate into this blog, but I haven’t had time for that even with this blog six days late. I can’t even promise that the next blog post of this blog will be on time either. Let’s just skip to the YouTube videos section of this blog post.

The last video that I’m including from The Odd Ones Out relating to Sooubway was Wrong Numbers. This was actually done before his fourth video on it as it mentions in the video. There isn’t much that I can say about that.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pO4DV5KZClk

Now in honor of possibly the dumbest challenge in Survivor history, I’m sharing the song that the challenge was named after, Love on the Rocks by Neil Diamond. I like the song enough so that’s why I’m sharing it in this blog.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbvxP08FlMs

Most people have probably heard the song Jump by Van Halen as it is one of the most notable ones that I’m familiar with. I forget how old it is, but it seems good despite that. Some songs are timeless, much like that one NBC show.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwYN7mTi6HM

Now there are a lot of Christmas songs to start sharing in this blog. Since Advent started on the Sunday before this episode aired, I considered it the start of the Christmas season and could have included this if the posts were done on time. Since there was a contestant on this season named Noelle and her name sounds like Noel, I’m sharing the Celtic Woman songs The First Noel and previous video leading into it, In the Bleak Midwinter from A Christmas Celebration version, the last concert featuring all of the original members of the group.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjwIMckuAj0

A lot of the seasonal songs that I’m sharing in this blog will not be returned to until that season is happening again. Since I had shared some Thomas the Tank Engine songs last year, I am now going to share one called Snow and get to the other one in the next post.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2BMst5yVjg

When I had posted about the season China earlier this year, I knew that I would have to cover the song You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. That’s because of a challenge link included in a post called With a 10 Foot Pole. While I posted that all the way back in January, it is nice to get back to something. Speaking of which, I need to do a set up for procrastination that I’ll get back to in the future.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWFaP1tkGgM

While there are a lot of Christmas things that I could talk about, for now, the only one that I plan to share right now is one called Which Ween Costumes? This is based on a Halloween tradition that they didn’t do that year and wanted to do in a Christmas way.

https://homestarrunner.com/toons/which-ween-costumes

Continuing on finally with more songs from The Nightmare before Christmas, I like to think of one that is perfect for snow on the ground in October. It’s called What’s This? It does make sense for someone to watch and see that doesn’t know about Christmas. Maybe they just came to life and doesn’t know about such things. Sometimes once you come to life, you don’t know nothing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLvvkTbHjHI

Let’s get to the football team updates. This features the teams of Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals. I plan to get to the end of these before this season is over. I’m almost done anyways.

Matchups: Bengals lost to Browns, Bengals beat Vikings, and Bengals beat Lions; Browns beat Bengals, Browns beat Vikings, and Browns beat Lions; Vikings lost to Bengals, Vikings lost to Browns, Vikings beat the Lions; Lions lost to Bengals, Lions lost to Browns, and Lions lost to Vikings. This makes the highest to lowest of these four teams Browns, Bengals, Vikings, and Lions.

The one last thing that I’m adding is that while I still plan to do the occasional watching of old Survivor episodes starting next year just to cover the other blogs needing changed with certain days of the week needing updated. I really want to get caught up on shows on tape and laptop with me wanting to see all of the shows from before the midterm elections or (with tapes at least) what I can get caught up with what I allow myself to (unless a lot more gets recorded, which may not happen given all of the family visits that prevent me from seeing as much as usual right now). But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Sami talks about being left out of the vote. He admits this, but not in the smartest way (if there is one) to other players. Gabler talks about being in a good position. Owen talks about all of the votes he has now been left out of. But he’s not closest to the blindside without yet being the one blindsided. Sami reads his letter from home again. Karla is in a dangerous place since she has revealed her idol to Cassidy and wants to make things better with her.

In the second segment of the show, not much is happening when a random boat with a random person shows up with just one simple note, paraphrased thusly: there is an advantage in your jungle, go. And all hell breaks loose. They even look as a group the way that they would have in Vietnam during that war. Does no one know to look at where the cameras are pointing yet? Or are there too many of them? They need to stop, watch that sound, everybody look what’s going round. Cody is the one who finally identifies the object. He is able to win this if either he or the person he bets on wins the challenge and he knows that it will be Last Gasp. I couldn’t win this challenge. But I probably might have had a chance before I had covid. I’m not too worse after it, but there are some things I will never risk doing now.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. Now everyone knows what the challenge is. He now reveals the advantage of choosing your champion. He will get immunity if he bet on the right person and doesn’t win himself. It won’t be revealed who he bet on until after the votes are cast at tribal council. So it is like in Guatemala where there was an immunity twist during the episode with the double tribal council.

Has there ever been swells in this challenge before? I wonder if Cody would keep up appearances if it were just him and the person he bet on in the challenge. Besides, he could always ensure that he’s the only one with it if he wins. I have the feeling that I might be like Janu in this challenge minus the part where I quit later. Cody is out later after desperately trying to stay in. I think that the person he bet on is already out of the challenge. But we’ll find out.

How do people do this challenge? This and Waiting to Exhale are challenges that I just don’t think that I could do for long if at all. And I know that I would fail at Bugging Out if I were eating m & ms as I’m that slow an eater typically. Is this the longest this challenge has ever lasted? If high tide disappears, would they have to do something else? Ultimately, that is what happens when Karla and Owen outlast the challenge and get joint immunity. Sami talks about possibly playing the shot in the dark.

In the fourth segment of the show, Cassidy talks about being the target potentially. Karla sees no choice other than to turn on Cassidy to keep her idol secret and safe. Is there writing in black speech on it? Meanwhile, Jesse wants to vote out Sami. Jesse tells Owen this, but Owen wants to target Jess. Cody reveals to us that he bet on Owen so he’s safe. He has to make the right choice in the end.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Jeff talks about how both of them had lasted the high tide and swells in the challenge. Jeff goes on talking about swells and the certainty of there being a high tide and a low tide. Nearly half of the group could be immune. No one knows how high or low the tide is going on. I got distracted a bit and missed some of what was talked about.

People want to talk about how much of a threat someone might be in the game. Some people don’t need their idols or advantages and can still win without them. Sami even admits that he will play his shot in the dark. I wonder now if people will think that he’s to blame and give love a bad name. Wait, that’s heart, not dark. A bill could be counterfeit. The votes are cast with Sami deciding whether or not to vote at all. He did play his shot in the dark. Sami is voted out and it doesn’t seem like anyone else got votes? Is that what we are to gather? Or do we not know that Karla voted against Cassidy?

On the next Survivor, there is a final four deal being made, Karla’s potential betrayal is brought up, and it is revealed that everyone voted for Sami in his final words. I can’t tell much else will be coming up in the penultimate episode of the season next week. But I look forward to it as always. I just hope that I’m not too tired with little to no chance to nap after work since I will have church then supper and only then the possibility for a nap briefly before this show starts. But only next week might be affected like this one was or would end up being potentially.

Total confessional count: Karla- 19, Gabler- 21, Owen- 24, Sami- 18, Jesse- 21, Cody- 22, Cassidy- 11. New confessionals this episode: Sami- 4, Jesse- 1, Cody- 2, Cassidy- 1, Karla- 2, Gabler- 1, Owen- 3.

This post was late again as there just wasn’t much time to do it. I could have worked on it more while watching shows on my laptop on Wednesday, but that didn’t happen this time around. I’ll explain more of what I did that in the next post. I can’t promise that it will be on Wednesday like it should be. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 43.10

Since now seems like the best time to do it, I will tell you about the Wednesday shows that I watch. I see the shows of Survivor (obviously), Stargirl, Home Economics, Kung Fu, Lego Masters, and Chicago PD. I also await what CBS will air at 9 in the future, which I think is revealed by now. It won’t be relevant for this blog at this point in time anyways.

Let’s get to the one time challenges from the thirty-fifth season. If only fandom had more info. Then I wouldn’t be two posts behind so far with this. But that doesn’t matter too much right at this point in time. I can only get caught up to the season right before whatever the current one I’m covering is.

The Color and the Shape (immunity challenge from I Don’t Like Having Snakes Around): In this challenge, tribes will have to maneuver puzzle pieces through a table maze and under a cargo net. After unlocking a second set of puzzle pieces, they must solve the puzzle at hand. An individual version of this challenge could be done while social distancing.

Driving Wheel (second immunity challenge from Buy One, Get One Free): In this challenge, players would have to drive a key that’s on an urn through obstacles. The key will get them puzzle pieces. The driving wheel will transport the pieces to the finish where a word puzzle will be solved. This could be done while social distancing.

Love on the Rocks (reward challenge from Not Going to Roll Over and Die): In this challenge, each player must draw the same color marble as their loved one. It is named after the Neil Diamond song of the same name. I’ve always felt that this was the least effort they ever put into a challenge. It was like they forgot to do a challenge and came up with this shit on the fly. While it could be done while social distancing, this challenge of pure luck is incredibly stupid and doesn’t belong in the game. It seems more like a dumb event than an actual challenge.

Might as Well Jump (penultimate challenge from Million Dollar Night): In this challenge, the players have to swim to a crate, get a bag of keys, swim to then cross a balance beam, get more keys, unlock their puzzle, and move balls around so they match the right color. The name of this challenge is taken from the last line of the Van Halen song Jump. I think that it could be done while social distancing since people could be far enough away from each other doing this.

There was one last video that The Odd Ones out did on his old job at Sooubway. It is even subtitled the final sandwich. This is the fourth video that he did in this series and he won’t be doing anymore, although it might be possible that he will cover this old job of his in other videos at times.

I am both too tired and still don’t have enough time for more football team updates. Don’t count on it being in next week’s posts, but we’ll see. With team #15 being decided, I have to figure out how to rank the teams of the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals by seeing who all played who starting in the 2020 season to see if and what certain teams have had match ups to the current season this year. But while 16-19 are still unclear, it is known for sure that the lowest rated of this grouping which thus isn’t included in it is the Green Bay Packers as number 20.

Getting back to what I promised in the last post, it turns out that Dan from Survivor: Nicaragua has died. This is now the second Dan who has died. Maybe I should post his last name sometime just to be clear who is who. While I have already revealed the ranking of that season, I will share it again. I will compare it to the ranking of a previous season that’s older than that. Nicaragua is 19 out of 42 seasons with the most recent not shared incidentally being the one right before it. Heroes versus Villains is 13 out of 42 seasons. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, we have Karla and her group coming back from tribal council. She was not left out of the vote, but did reveal that she acted like she wasn’t by how she voted in the end. There were a lot of people confused about the various votes that happened at the separate tribal councils. We then cut to the next challenge already. Jeff is back in black. Is he Darth Jeff? It is weird to see a reward challenge again since they are constantly being edited out now.

Noelle struggles a lot throughout the challenge due to her fake leg. But since only one sandbag needs thrown onto a target, she does wind up doing that well and getting the win in the end. She picks Sami to join her and then Jesse. The last person that she picks to join her is Owen. She talks about how she is glad that she won and proved that she can do what those goodie two legs can.

In the second segment of the show, Noelle talks about visiting this sanctuary. Owen is glad that he got letters from the outside. Jesse is emotional since he has been without talking to her family for such a long time. Sami, talking strategy as usual, wants to target Cassidy. People talk about splitting votes between her and Karla. Cody is depressed at the loss. Someone always seems to be. Cassidy thinks that every cloud has a silver lining so it’s more okay to lose reward. Gabler is too much of a loose cannon. How has he made it this far? Gabler talks about both sides wanting him. Is he in an ideal situation? Not every swing vote is.

In the third segment of the show, we go straight to the immunity challenge. There are a lot of setbacks for everyone. It is Cassidy who wins the challenge in the end. She talks about her win. That’s about it for this part of the show.

In the fourth segment of the show, we return to Gaia, the merged tribe. Noelle talks about the plan being different due to Cassidy’s immunity win and Karla’s potential idol. Noelle thinks that she is in a good position still. Jesse thinks that he has to take out Noelle now. He thinks that you have to be careful when blindsiding someone. He goes through the plan. 1- Have a cover story. He tells her that Sami is the target. A snake is seen slithering in the sand. It must be Jesse and he must win. This leads to the next step. 2- Throw the fall guy under the bus. That’s done as well. 3- Have a backup plan. It seems to be good, but Gabler talks to Karla about getting rid of Jesse and Cody who seem safe.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Jeff starts at the reward challenge. He wants Noelle to talk about the odds against her. She wants to be a model for those with disabilities. She is happy to have this win. Jesse talks about ugly crying because of the letters. Gabler still does his weird, technical speech. Owen thinks that trust is what matters most. A one-two, a one two three four. Wait. I got distracted there thinking of the Billy Joel song A Matter of Trust.

Ryan isn’t sure of what all is going on since so much is happening at once. Gabler thinks that everyone is a killer and that they are all working with silencers. Can they get in the target zone? People can’t figure out what’s happening in advance of what’s going on. Noelle thinks that they could miss their target. Ryan thinks that today could make the rest of his game. But will it? I guess we’ll see. No idols are played after the votes are cast.  It is Noelle that gets voted out of the game.

On the next Survivor, Gabler has a plan to get to the final three by hiding in plain sight, everyone starts to scramble when a boat arrives, and there is tough immunity challenge. What else can I say? There ain’t no disguising the truth.

Total confessional count: Gabler- 20, Owen- 21, Noelle- 14, Sami- 14, Jesse- 20, Cody- 20, Cassidy- 10, Karla- 17.

New confessionals this episode: Jesse- 3, Cody- 1, Cassidy- 3, Karla- 1, Gabler- 2, Owen- 1, Noelle- 4, Sami- 0.

There are two things to note. One is that I’m not sure if the planned blog schedule will stay the way that it is now because I am hoping that things will change on Fridays even if things not changing then would mean that I could do my next post on China much sooner. The other is an explanation as to why this blog was late. Basically, I couldn’t get it done with all that was going on the week of Thanksgiving with all of the family visits then that I was dealing with and still might affect my blogs like this one going forward throughout the future. I should be back to normal tomorrow with a post on tomorrow’s episode then. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 43.9

While I now know of two Survivor deaths, I will now mention the one that was covered first in fandom. That would be the death of Roger from Amazon. I had already sent out my wishlist really early at my brother in law’s request. This will be another old season that I will want at some point in time. Note that when it comes to the ranking of Amazon versus the other seasons, I have it ranked as 33 out of 42 seasons (as the current one isn’t yet ranked), which is incidentally the lowest of the average seasons with the next lowest being the best of the bad seasons.

It seems that I once again stumbled onto a song that I possibly never would have otherwise. This one is called Unchained Medley, a song that was done by many others but was first done by Todd Duncan. I just wish that he didn’t look drunk while doing this.

While this is now my second time watching a Survivor Geek video, it doesn’t seem to be the best quality as the video and audio are out of sync at some point. It also seems weird that he is splitting this up into multiple parts when it should be quick enough. Just how bad of a copyright strike does he have? And why not learn from that? Anyways, watching the Full Tilt Boogey Survivor challenge, it is clear that the way that they do it can’t be done while social distancing since people are tethered together. If they did a version of this where it was just people individually doing it, then it might work while social distancing. It is hard to tell for sure.

Continuing on with more work stories from The Odd Ones Out, this is his third video on working at the place called Sooubway. He mentions how he earned more money doing just the first two videos on the place than he ever did working there. I doubt that I will have time to mention my vlogs about working at a shooting complex as much as I would like. But we’ll see if my channel will even get monetized.

I don’t have time for football updates this post but I should do the usual pre Thanksgiving warning that I don’t know for sure if I will be happening around that time of year or if I will be too busy to blog about or even see the show right away once it airs. I’m hoping that potential family visits won’t mess up or change things too much. The fact is Thanksgiving is next week and I have no idea what is happening. I think that I know where it will be and possibly who all might be there. But I don’t know much else about what all will be going on. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Sami talks about how he didn’t want to vote out Jeannie, but didn’t have the numbers to do anything else. Owen is pissed about having been left out of the vote. James is starting to think that everyone who is close to him gets voted out. It isn’t long until we get to the next immunity challenge. They split into two groups. Each will go to separate tribal councils. The last group to have a member standing wins reward and right to go to tribal council last. Also, is it just me or is it hard to catch who all is on what group?

In merely writing that last paragraph, I can’t catch who all is in which group that drops out of the challenge. Ryan and Cody are the showdown in their group. Karla outlasts Sami in her group. She thus wins immunity as a result. But she doesn’t win reward for her group. Cody then wins his immunity and reward for his group. Karla talks about her win and still having stitches in her hand. When did that happen? I must have missed it.

In the second segment of the show, Cody talks about his immunity win. People want to vote out Cassidy. But she knows this and gets emotional wanting to stay in the game. Karla and her group have to go to another camp until their separate tribal council happens. Owen is nearing his breaking point. He and James get into it. And this starts to happen in front of the entire half of this tribe. Owen doesn’t like that James wasn’t honest about Jeanine getting voted out before it. James wants to vote out Owen.

In the third segment of the show, it is still uncertain who might be voted out. Do they want to get rid of Ryan? They think that how the other group votes might affect who they vote out. Meanwhile, Noelle wants to use her steal a vote power to get rid of James. She tells him about it under the guise that she is getting rid of the potential for Owen to use his shot in the dark by stealing his vote. This is to ensure that James doesn’t use his knowledge is power advantage. She would actually do this to Owen so that her advantage isn’t stolen.

In the fourth segment of the show, we get to the first tribal council at hand. Jeff gives a sum up of the tribe. We get to the issues between James and Owen. Does James have a robot voice to other people or is that a problem with my TV? James thinks that there will be more trust on the tribe going forward after the vote tonight. Karla thinks that people have to trust in themselves. Noelle mentions what she thinks is the best thing to do moving forward. She pulls out her steal a vote advantage. She takes the vote of Owen. He talks about the summit which had lead to this. The votes are cast and James is voted out. This group then goes away with James on the jury and the next group coming in.

In the fifth segment of the show, Jesse is surprised that James is voted out. Ryan wants to know now what had happened. Cassidy thinks that there is little wiggle room right now. She doesn’t think that people know what conversations people are having. Cody thinks that he has the most power, at least this time around. Ryan talks about having lots of clams. What? I’m confused. Anyways, after the votes are cast, it is Ryan who is voted out. I guess this makes sense? It is hard to tell for sure.

On the next Survivor, they want to get out big threats in the game with nearly every name being brought up as targets. Well that makes no sense. I guess that we’ll see what happens in the next episode and see if it makes any sense.

Total confessional count: Cody- 19, Cassidy- 7, Karla- 16, Gabler- 18, James- 15, Owen- 20, Noelle- 10, Sami- 14, Jesse- 17, Ryan- 9.

New confessionals this episode: Owen- 2, Noelle- 1, Sami- 1, Jesse- 1, Ryan- 1, Cody- 2, Cassidy- 1, Karla- 3, Gabler- 1, James- 2.

As you can tell from the schedule, there will be a new blog that will be debuting. It will be one that is purely about politics and I will explain why I’m calling it that in that blog and why I feel the need to have that name versus any other one. I will share the blog here and other places once I have it up. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
