Episode 30.12

Well, another season of Survivor is coming up and I feel that need to talk about it. In fact, I’m afraid that they might have revealed spoilers about it without even telling us for sure. But I’ll definitely have to get online and get an account at www.cbs.com to vote for the poll. It has an interesting name for the season and makes me wonder why those particular people are up for a vote. They make it seem like this season will be in the fall and not the spring. So are the rumors that they are filming a season right now true? Will that season be season 32? Is the one they are talking about actually going to be the spring season? I’m so confused right now. Why would the season they are filming now air in the spring? Are the rumors about a season being filmed right now untrue? That might be what’s happening. Plenty of rumors about Survivor have turned out to be untrue. I still don’t know why people thought that Brandon and Russell Hantz were going to be on Blood versus Water. No smart person would think that.

SPOILER. Does it concern anyone that Mike is one of the rumored contestants for next season? Now I’m not as sure as I once was that he’ll win this season. With Tyler voted out and Carolyn also considered to be a player for the upcoming season, I’m not sure that I’ll like whoever wins this season. Now this is only a prediction in a way as to where the season will go. But I don’t think that Carolyn or Mike will win this season anymore. Sierra probably won’t win based on her invisible edit. Dan and Will have far too negative an edit to win. So does Rodney win then? Notice how none of the rumored players have won their season. Would Mike be different? A second chance season would logically not have any former winners in it, right? Are Mike and Carolyn fake choices for people on the real season 31? I know that the season we fans are casting might just be a reason to get people from recent seasons to play again. That’s why they do returning players season every so often. But I’m concerned that this season may have a disappointing ending and that wouldn’t be good for this already bad season. END SPOILER.

With this season nearing an end, you might be wondering my thoughts about it. You see, most people will probably say that this season is pretty bad. Normally when the fans say a season is bad, I disagree with them. But this time, they are right. I know that there are some people that think that this season might be good in some way. But I don’t see it going down as even an average season in the end. I just hope that there will never be a season as terrible as Fiji. In my mind, Fiji was the worst season and I don’t understand why so many people like it. Can we at least agree that Thailand was awful?

CBS has revealed more information about Survivor Second Chance. This will probably lead to blog posts in the future. To me, Second Chance may not be the best name for the season. They have a lot of interesting one-time players considered for the season in question. But not all of them or even most of them would be what I’d consider good players for a second chances season. That’s not to say that I’d be disappointed with any of the potential players, but some of them wouldn’t be good for second chances. I mean, a regular all-stars season where the contestants don’t necessarily need a second chance but get one anyways would probably be the best way of describing it. Why were some of these players chosen over others? Why so many from recent seasons? WHY ARE YOU STILL NOT LETTING AN ORIGINAL PLAYER FROM THE GUATEMALA SEASON PLAY AGAIN!? Plus, for it being a second chance season, it seems weird that none of the players considered to return were idoled out, medically evacuated, or voted out while in possession of an idol. At least they are only going with one-time players, which not every Survivor fan does when they create lists for second chances seasons. But you can more than likely expect blog posts about that future season during the hiatus between this season and that one. Of course, there’ll be other posts as well. We’ll get to that later. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, they finally mention Carolyn’s hidden immunity idol in the previously on Survivor segment meaning that it’s probably going to be important in the episode today. It’s about darn time. Mike talks about tribal council and what his plans are next. “He’s arrogant and condescending,” said Dan, ironically not speaking about himself. Carolyn talks about how they can’t get rid of Dan at the moment. I do have to wonder if Carolyn and Sierra are with Mike now or if they just voted with him that one time.

In the second segment of the show, Rodney complains more about the fact that he hasn’t won any reward challenges before what could be the last reward challenge of the season. It also seems likely that there will not be a loved ones challenge this season. Maybe they aren’t doing them any more. The teams are Dan, Sierra, and Rodney as well as Mike, Will, and Carolyn. It takes a long ass time for anyone to figure the phrase out. Mike, Carolyn, and Will win the reward challenge. Carolyn considers giving up her reward, but decides not to. I guess all the giving up rewards last season is why people even consider doing it nowadays. I don’t even remember it being an option to give up a reward until Pearl Islands.

In the third segment of the show, the reward challenge happens. The winning team talks about becoming the final three. Could that actually happen? Since they are actually showing the reward, then it could become important. However, it is far too often they fake us out with things like that. Dan also finds what might be fruit and it is. It makes Rodney happy.

In the fourth segment of the show, the tribes get treemail about the immunity challenge. Do they still do treemail? Why do we never see it that often? People still talk about Dan’s advantage in the game. Sierra doesn’t know what she’ll do. It’s a shame that we see so little of Sierra since she’d make a great winner. At the immunity challenge, some people do better than others. “I suck at life,” said Dan. After being close to winning the challenge a lot, Mike finally wins. I do wonder if him winning Survivor would be like Chris overcoming the Yasur alliance.

In the fifth segment of the show, Dan talks about how upsetting it is for the axis of evil to have to turn on each other. Also, how is Dan a huge threat? I don’t see it, but I see things in the edit as a viewer that the contestants wouldn’t get to see. Mike is not sure as to whether or not he can get rid of Dan tonight. When Mike tells Dan that Dan is in trouble, Dan doesn’t believe Mike. (I hate you lack of specific pronouns! Use of he in that sentence would be confusing.) Mike continues to cause chaos in the game. Carolyn doesn’t know whether or not to play an idol, but I think that she probably will use it. Meanwhile, I don’t know whether or not I want the extra vote twist to be wasted or not. As usual, I don’t know what will happen. Dan uses his advantage to cast an extra vote. I really do think that now was the best time to use it. But will it work? The question then comes down to an idol and Carolyn finally plays hers after quite possibly possessing one in the game for the longest amount of time. Dan is voted out of the game due to the null votes against Carolyn.

On the next Survivor, the finale happens. I don’t know why they said little to nothing about it. I’m not sure if the win this season is obvious as anything can go wrong and cause someone unexpected to win. Case in point: Panama.

Total confessional count: Carolyn- 39, Will- 16, Sierra- 17, Dan- 29, Mike- 46, Rodney- 34. New confessionals this episode: Sierra- 2, Dan- 5, Mike- 6, Rodney- 2, Carolyn- 6, Will- 2.

Will and Sierra are still very weak in the confessional count. Are they the casualties of the finale? The whole Mike/Rodney rivalry makes me wonder if there’s a possibility that for the first time ever there will be rivals sitting together in the final tribal council. I don’t think that has ever happened before, although it could have. Some seasons have satisfied us by having allies that were in control of the game reaching the end together. I never thought about it until just now: wouldn’t you love to see rivals compete against a jury? I do wonder if Sandra and Russell count as a rivalry or not. I just know that there is probably not a final two this season as that typically doesn’t happen when it starts with five people. Mike has the highest confessional count and could win the last two challenges. But can he turn that into a win? He has a lot to overcome and could still suffer defeat. But it looks like it is his game to lose.

Okay, with the finale happening next week on Wednesday, you can pretty much know what to expect from this blog of mine. I will post the three dumbest moves this season, the breakout star of the season, the most memorable moment of the season, and the ranking of this season. I will also rank this season’s tribe swap among the other tribe swaps. After next week, I’ll be posting random blog posts on every Wednesday until the next season starts. I can’t promise that I’ll be able to post every Wednesday as any strange thing can happen. You’ll only see Wednesday posts so if you don’t see something on one Wednesday, then you won’t see me post on Sundays. I’ll just be more sure to post the next Wednesday for sure. I already have some random posts written. Look forward to this blog and be sure to read all the future posts. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
