Survivor: Ghost Island Premiere

There is still a lot that can change with this blog in the future as things go on in my life and other things and changes happen as well. What’s interesting about this season’s airing is that Lent would have begun already yet my blog will still be on Wednesdays until this season starts. That is, of course, that I didn’t get or having been able to start watching an old season on DVD. I’m writing this in advance of Christmas in case you are confused. We’ll see what happens in the future.

I didn’t get an old season of Survivor as a Christmas present, but I’m still probably going to get one for myself with money that I was given for getting something for myself. I will probably go with Gabon over Blood versus Water having already blogged about Blood versus Water. But first, I will probably be seeing Borneo again for a recap of a player’s game from that season.

I had a dream regarding a cast of Survivor players and Terry Dietz was one of them. It might have been an all returning player season that the dream was about. It was getting later into the game and Terry was still in it, which I thought was good. There wasn’t much else to the dream.

Something that I wonder about will be what exactly Ghost Island will be like. Will it be like Exile Island? Will it be like Redemption Island? You’d think that it will be its own island. I just wonder if we’ll see a thing like it again and hope that it works, although it might not.

There were rumors that Andrea from Survivor was going to be on Celebrity Big Brother. This didn’t turn out to be true, though. Since it occupied so many timeslots in a non summer time, I thought it would be better for me to not watch it.

Well, Jessica from last season appeared on the local news of mine. She went on a ski trip and came back with a broken leg. Was that part of the premerge trip she was on? I don’t think that I know for sure. She is not with Cole. She is working on a website. If only I hadn’t given up Wikia for Lent. I guess that come April, I’ll look on the site to see if they can explain more information about her.

There have been some changes with my nighttime job. Originally, I was working at just one place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the weekend. Now, I’m working in another place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This won’t affect this blog yet, if at all.

What will affect this blog is that Lent is happening and I’ll be at church when this show is on. That is why the blog will be on Thursdays until holy week happens. At least I can record this and SEAL Team. I miss shows because of this show, such as Riverdale. I was into The Blacklist, but don’t think that I care about that anymore. I have seen Dynasty at times, but I don’t know if I’ll stay into it. It is moving to Fridays in the future anyways. Other Wednesday shows that I watch on different networks are Modern Family, American Housewife, Law & Order: SVU, and Designated Survivor.

Some of you might remember from when I did a recap on Stephenie from Palau that I would do one on Sue from Borneo in the future. Well, I’m going to start working on it in the future as I will be watching the first season on DVD again. I also plan on getting Gabon for myself soon, although I won’t watch it yet until I am done with the Borneo season. I’ll still be waiting to get Blood versus Water in some way in the future. Let’s get to my 300th blog post. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, we get to the introduction of the season. The tribes are gathered on the beach where Jeff talks to them. Jeff wants each tribe to volunteer someone to lead their tribe. Chris and Brendan are the ones doing it. They need to pick people for the challenge, which they do. There are a lot of twists to the challenge. What’s with all these twists anyways? You see them in every season nowadays. Chris makes the decision to forfeit the challenge, which Domenick doesn’t like.

We get back to camp next where people introduce themselves. There seems to be an assortment of strange characters. And I can’t tell what gender Donthan is. Kellyn changed a lot of her life in order to do Survivor. Domenick wants to take charge which could be a bad idea or might be a good one. Chris thinks that Domenick is gunning for him.

In the second segment of the show, Jacob dumbly loses his shoes. He thinks that he’s the odd one out on the tribe and further alienates himself by hunting for an idol. Survivor started when he was four and he thinks that he already screwed himself. At least he realizes it. Animal imagery comes up with spiders that are big. What does it mean? When Domenick’s name comes up as a potential boot, Wendell goes up and tells him that.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. Someone from the losing tribe will be sent to Ghost Island. I think this means that they could wind up missing the vote. The purple tribe ends up winning immunity. Jacob gets sent to Ghost Island, which was part of his plan. I guess he’s not entirely dumb if he’s smart enough to do that. Jenna wonders who they’ll vote off now.

In the fourth segment of the show, Jacob arrives at Ghost Island. Now are these the actual things or are they replicas? He then has a game of chance and gets the legacy advantage from Game Changers that he has to give to someone on the other tribe. He’ll give it to Morgan. This could prove to be an interesting twist in the game. But what all goes it mean?

Donathan thinks that Stephanie Gonzalez should be voted out because she had told people to stop talking at the challenge. She wants to get rid of him in turn. I wonder who will come out on top? In the meantime, it seems that Stephanie Johnson, who is known by her first name and not her last name like the other Stephanie. Michael wants to get rid of Donathan.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. Stephanie Gonzalez thinks that Jacob was an easy vote and that he has already made mistakes. She thought that she would have been good at the puzzle, but it is hard to know for sure if she would have been. Stephanie Gonzalez goes around and talks to people openly. This sure is a weird tribal council. Stephanie Gonzalez is the first person voted out of the game. I guess that this and the next post will be the only ones to mention the last name of the other Stephanie in the game. Domenick might be the first person to find an idol during nighttime. It is the idol that Andrea didn’t play in Caramoan. Morgan then sees the legacy advantage in her bag. We then return to Ghost Island where Jacob makes a fake idol for himself to tell people that is real.

In the sixth segment of the show, we get to Jacob returning to his tribe. He tells the story of the idol, but do people believe him? He seems like a very nervous person. Brendan doesn’t buy the story as he thinks that no one would forget the part of it that says it is a real idol. Stephanie Johnson still thinks that it would be a good idea to work with Jacob. Domenick wants to work with Chris and they showed animal imagery of a crab getting on another crab. Remember how important animal imagery is. Chris doesn’t think that he buys the idol story and it’s possible that Domenick may have made things worse.

In the seventh segment of the show, we get to another immunity challenge already. Watching this later outside of regular timeslots can mess with me and my sense of time. The orange tribe struggles badly at the challenge. Donathan is sent to Ghost Island even though Jacob wanted to return there.

In the eighth segment of the show, Donathan goes to Ghost Island and smashes an urn, only he doesn’t get to play a game. Now do they have to go in order of the urn or not? James correctly thinks that he was the reason that they lost the immunity challenge. Michael wants to split the votes between James and Jacob. Stephanie Johnson wants to work with Jacob and they want to vote out Michael. Jacob then tells Stephanie Johnson about the truth of Ghost Island. People still try to figure out the vote. I’m not sure what will happen this time around. Maybe the next segment will shed more light on it.

In the ninth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. James talks about his failure at the challenge and owns his mistake. Jacob likes his tribe a lot. If he is voted out early into the game, I’ll miss him. But, I also have to admit that he’s not that great a player. Or, he doesn’t seem like one just yet. There is a plan for tonight and I have no idea what’s going on or going to happen. No idols are played because I don’t think that anyone on this tribe has one. Jacob is voted out.

On the next Survivor, there is a tribe swap already. And they might have spoiled who goes to Ghost Island next. It seems rather early for a swap so I don’t know if they are doing a split from two tribes to three like they have in the past. I guess that we’ll see for sure what happens later.

Total confessional count: Domenick- 5, Desiree- 1, Kellyn- 2, Jenna- 2, Jacob- 6, Stephanie Gonzalez- 2, Wendell- 1, Donathan- 2, Laurel- 1, Stephanie Johnson- 2, Bradley- 0, James- 2, Chris- 1, Sebastian- 1, Angela- 0, Morgan- 1, Brendan- 2, Chelsea- 0, Libby- 0, Michael- 3.

It seems that Jacob had the most confessionals this episode with six. The next highest is Domenick with five. Michael is third highest with three. Stephanie Gonzalez had two, the same number as Kellyn, Jenna, Donathan, Brendan, Stephanie Johnson, and James. Sharing the lowest with zero confessionals a piece is Anglea, Chelsea, Libby, and Bradley. Everyone else just had one confessional.

Rearranging the order of confessionals could prove to be confusing early into the game. But at least I’m the only one who has to worry about such things. Remember that new posts of this blog will appear on Thursdays, the day after a new episode has aired. I’ll let you know when they’ll return to Wednesdays as normal. I’ll see you next week. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
