Episode 30.7

Lent is over, as of the posting of this blog post, which means that I can finally watch CinemaSins again and return to both Wikia and Wikipedia. How soon I’ll do all of that could be a bit of a mystery to me. There are a lot of mysteries in my life. I have a lot of shows that I watch. If there are three good things on at once, I record one on my laptop, record one on VHS, and watch the other one. This has lead to a backlog of things on VHS that I have to get caught up on. I’m ignoring any TV show at the moment that I have on DVD to watch, which is a shame. There’s a lot I want to see. Meanwhile, there’s a lot to be added to the list in terms of TV shows on DVD to watch. At least I’ll have the upcoming summer break to look forward to.

Movie update: This being Easter weekend, I knew that I probably wouldn’t get much watched. I ended up seeing Rat Race, the number 5 choice on the Sunday list (a list that can be watched from on Mondays now as well). I couldn’t put the oldest choice from Monday’s old list on the Sunday list, so I moved the Survivor Borneo special to number 5 and put Titanic from the old Monday list as number 6. The other movie that I watched this week was a nature documentary. That being part of a series, I couldn’t move the last Monday choice to a new list yet.

Since it looks like hidden immunity idols will be important as we go into this episode, there is a reminder I want to tell you about. If somebody finds the idol, you should pay attention to the music in the background when they find it. Is it triumphant? Does it seem like good music is in the background when they found it? Or does the music not have much good connotation to it? The music can be an indicator as to if the idol will be put to good use or not. The better the music, the more likely it is to successfully save someone. No twitter for me tonight. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, we get to Merica coming back from tribal council. Storms are in my area which makes me glad that I have two different affiliates that have Survivor. But the storms being in both viewing areas are a bad sign. I am getting more and more convinced that Jenn is a terrible person who will either make a terrible winner or a bitter jury member. Why so mean, Jenn? Considering how Jenn Lyon also played the game, she seems to be a disgrace to people with that name.

In the second segment of the show, we get to food arguments, it seems. You do have to wonder if the reason that Survivor isn’t as good anymore is because it has been on too long. Food arguments are a sign that nothing more interesting is happening. We then get to a reward challenge. No teams in this challenge, which is cool. I like real individual challenges postmerge. Long story short: Joe wins the reward challenge. He picks Tyler, Will, Carolyn, and Shirin to go on the reward with him. Why did he pick them? I don’t really know.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the reward in question. While Jenn wins the award for meanest contestant this season, Shirin probably wins most annoying. That’s saying something since Dan is also a contestant this season. Joe finds a clue to the hidden immunity idol and Tyler notices this. Mike notices them when they come back and sneaks after them. I think that I want Mike to win at the moment. I know that no Mike has ever won Survivor, but that could change in the future. I admit that his decision to get everyone to chase after Joe isn’t that good a one. I question everyone’s game play this season. Who’s playing the best game? Is anyone playing a good game? Would anyone notice that Carolyn isn’t looking for an idol? Dan is very bad at the game. Very bad. What good is telling someone that they are going home going to do? You can’t call yourself a fan of this show and be doing crap like that. You’re so freaking dumb sometimes. I haven’t even starting doing different nominees for the awards I will give at the end of the season yet, but Dan should probably get one for being dumb. I’ll figure all that out by the end of the season at least. Also, is anyone annoyed that Kelly isn’t on the jury? Why not put her there?

In the fourth segment of the show, Mike still can’t find an idol. Will they get to his rivalry with Rodney at all? But he does find a hidden immunity idol and the music and hashtag seem to be a good sign for his future. We then get to the immunity challenge. It’s basically a sliding puzzle which sounds like a good idea for a challenge. I would like it just because I know how to solve it. I can’t promise that I would be able to solve it first to win the challenge, but I’d probably be better than some other people would be. Joe wins immunity again after Dan incorrectly thinks that he won twice. Jeff feels the need to point out that Joe’s a treat in the game. I think that everyone knows that and why Jeff has to tell everyone that seems strange to me.

In the fifth segment of the show, Shirin feels that she is safe even though she lost the challenge. Cocky much? Also, what is an idiot savant? Don’t those words contradict each other? People don’t know who has an idol or who to vote for. Meanwhile, if Joe is a major contender in the game, why is his confessional count so low? Does that mean that he’ll get voted out the first time he loses a challenge? We get to the tribal council with me having no clue as to what might happen. Hali has a strange and unusual history lesson about the country of America. Maybe she has a point, but it doesn’t sound like she knows what she’s talking about. No idols are played. In the end, the person voted out was Hali. She is the first person to join the jury.

On the next Survivor, the challenge that happens seems to be very weird in some way. Also, Jenn might actually be quitting the game. Really? I hoped that we were done with quitters for a while. They say that bad things come in threes and since the last three seasons each had a quitter, than that means that this should be the first one since Caramoan to not have an (official) one. It could be that Jenn is getting a NaOnka edit, which would make sense.

Total confessional count: Joe- 11, Jenn- 16, Dan- 13, Hali- 15, Tyler- 13, Mike- 21, Rodney- 19, Shirin- 15, Carolyn- 15, Will- 10, Sierra- 10. New confessionals this episode: Jenn- 1, Dan- 2, Hali- 1, Tyler- 3, Mike- 4, Rodney- 3, Shirin- 3, Carolyn- 1, Will- 0, Sierra- 1, Joe- 2.

Will and Sierra are largely irrelevant to the season if you are going on their low confessional count alone. They both share the lowest with only 10 confessionals each. Mike has the highest with 21 confessionals. Rodney is the next highest with 19. I wonder how quickly people will get above 20 confessionals. Mike started the thread this season. Can others get that high as well? We’ll see what happens and whether or not Mike is going to win this season. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 30.6

You should be seeing this post on a Wednesday. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post normally for the rest of the season. I might even go back to live tweeting. I don’t think that I’ve been on twitter this whole year and its really driving me crazy. If the quality of this blog suffers, then I must have been live tweeting. I wouldn’t do it if it weren’t so fun. I really like twitter. You can learn a lot about current event/pop culture that you otherwise wouldn’t know. I just don’t know why I haven’t had the time to get on that website lately. That’s so terrible. If this blog suffers, then you’ll know that I must have been live tweeting. Here’s hoping!

Movie update: Once again, I was unable to watch a movie on Saturday. This time, it was because I went to church on Saturday instead of Sunday to avoid the crowd that comes with confirmation that happens at my church on Palm Sunday. I predict that the coming weeks will be hard with me possibly not watching movies as often as I like and my TV schedule will be complicated to keep up with as well. The AD miniseries (just a quick sidebar, if you don’t know why a miniseries always lasts a short time to never reappear again, you need to learn more about how television works. I understand if you are confused, though, with limited run series, event series, and miniseries being different things that are used interchangeably) will complicate my Sunday TV show watching. As usual, new episodes of shows will appear on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. If they ever wonder why the ratings for shows that air new episodes on those days are low, then they probably underestimate the Christian influence in the world. I’m always busier than I would like to be and was only able to watch one of my Sunday movies. I watched The Emperor’s New Groove, which was the number 2 choice. That moves Mr. and Mrs. Smith to number 2, the Night at the Museum sequel to number 3, and Paulie, from the Monday list, to number 4. Due to repeat letters, the number that I rolled on Tuesday was not able to be replaced by a choice on the Monday list. The choice that I watched was a play recording of The Sound of Music. I am replacing them with movie length Nature Documentaries. It being plural means that it is part of a series

POSSIBLE SPOILER. Okay, nobody has made an official renewal just yet, but it is believed that there will be two more seasons of Survivor. Rumor has it that an all new cast (well, some sort of cast, at least) is in Cambodia filming what will become Survivor 31. There’s more rumors as to what Survivor 32 might be. It looks like it could be very interesting. Why? Apparently, it will be an all-stars season that we the fans get to pick. America’s choice is currently the name of it, although I don’t know if that’s what it will end up being called in the end. I’ll let you know when an official renewal happens. It’s possible that the reunion show of this season will be the break between filming seasons 31 and 32, much like how seasons 25 and 26 were filmed with the 24 reunion show in the break between them. Or, at least I think that’s what happened. I’d have to look up the filming dates to know for sure what happens. But keep an eye out for voting for a cast for an upcoming Survivor season. END SPOILER.

There’s no twitter for me today. I ran out of time to get on. Also, be sure to check out the Survivor Oz website to see what their April fool’s Day prank is this year. Hopefully I can get back on twitter in the near future. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Escamaca got back from tribal council and talk about the blindside that happened. Rodney was blacked out on the Addicted to Survivor facebook group so he probably won’t have many chances in the Survivor game. They could be wrong about him. Will they be? Some contestants went to what they thought was a reward challenge. Most people knew that it would be a merge, which it was. This was evident to those who didn’t already know when Jeff Probst wasn’t there. The color of the merged tribe is black as usual for seasons starting with more than two tribes.

In the second segment of the show, the shelter was removed when the tribes were merging. Why would production do that? This wasn’t like in Fiji where they had to get rid of the luxurious beach. The blue collars want to stick together which could lead to a white collar/no collar alliance, as revealed in the promos for this episode. The tribe name was Merica. I like it, but I don’t think that other people like it as much as they could. All the usual postmerge drama is coming into play, which I like. Also, Dan got stung by what was probably a jellyfish.

In the next segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge which is a Survivor stable in the game. Get a grip is the name of the challenge. Dan struggles early into the challenge and falls out first. Will falls out pretty soon after. Tyler randomly drops out. Why? I don’t know for sure. It is hard to tell who has the best advantage. Jenn gets stung by an insect at this challenge. Rain comes down pretty hard at the challenge. Joe and Carolyn are the last two people left at the challenge. Based on what I can tell, Mike wants Carolyn to win the challenge, I think. In the end, Joe wins the challenge.

In the next segment of the show, the people consider voting out either Jenn or Hali. Will is told to vote for Hali, although the vote is probably for Jenn. Will the queen b be knocked off her throne? She could be. The white collars appear to be the swing vote in the game. Tyler is glad that he is not on the chopping block. I have no idea what will happen. It seems to be between either Jenn or Kelly. I really hope that it is not Kelly because that means Jenn will get to stay in the game. On the other hand, the game might be too obvious for the future if Jenn gets voted out. She also has a hidden immunity idol and the music that played when she found it makes it seem that she will use it well. The plan might hinge on Will and that’s a bad place for plans to hinge on. It looks at least like the game is picking up now at the point, which is a good sign for the future of this season. If the white collars go with either group, they would still be in a minority if they are the only ones left in the game. But, they could stick check things up. I fellow blogger that I know thinks that making the right decision is the theme of this season and he’s probably right about that. It’s a shame that I always get behind on reading his blog posts. Jenn decides to play her idol at tribal council. She probably saved herself. Did you know that nobody who has successfully played an idol on themselves has ever won the game? In the end, Kelly gets voted out of the game.

On the next Survivor, the Rodney/Mike rivalry gets to a head and there’s another mad search for hidden immunity idols, probably like how it unfolded in Cagayan. Does Kelly’s elimination spell doom for the blue collars? Who will I have to root for to win the game now? I might have to root for Mike, but he could only do that by winning his rivalry with Rodney. Can he do that?

Total confessional count: Mike- 17, Rodney- 16, Shirin- 12, Kelly- 10, Carolyn- 14, Will- 10, Sierra- 9, Joe- 9, Jenn- 15, Dan- 11, Hali- 14, Tyler- 10. New confessionals this episode: Rodney- 4, Shirin- 2, Kelly- 3, Carolyn- 3, Will- 1, Sierra- 0, Joe- 1, Jenn- 3, Dan- 3, Hali- 2, Tyler- 3, Mike- 4.

Despite being important to this episode, Joe is tied with Sierra with the lowest confessional count and they are both the only two in the game with less than ten confessionals. I forget if Kelly is on the jury or not. I hope that she is because I like her. Mike has the highest total confessionals right now. I know that my numbers might be off because they are normally lower than what other people have. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 30.5

Remember when I told you that I would tell you more trivia about the first season when I had the chance to? Well, Richard was the winner and he went to the first tribal council that season. He’s not the only winner to attend the first tribal council in the season that he won. Ethan in the third season, Vecepia in the fourth season, Brian in the fifth season, Chris from the ninth season, Danni from the eleventh season, Earl from the fourteenth season, Parvati from the sixteenth season, JT from the eighteenth season, Natalie from the nineteenth season, Rob from the twenty-second season, Kim from the twenty-fourth season, Denise from the twenty-fifth season, and John from the twenty-sixth season all did this. If anyone from the current season does it, they will have to come from the Masaya tribe. Will that happen? I’m not sure, but it could. It seems to be an even 50% split of whether or not you went to the first tribal council if you’ll end up winning.

Movie update: I now have the problem of getting rid of a list by moving its choices to other lists. This will mean reordering choices when I have to. I’ll let you know what I do as I do it. Just keep in mind the different lists in alphabetical order before I change it. Saturday’s list is the Chronicles of Narnia (1), Enchanted (2), Fireproof (3), Ice Age (4), Our Lips are Sealed (5), and The Parent Trap (6). Sunday’s list is Celtic Woman (1), the Emperor’s New Groove (2), Mr. and Mrs. Smith (3), Night at the Museum sequel (4), Rat Race (5), and Seventeen Again (6). Tuesday’s list is Aladdin (1), Lilo and Stitch (2), Made of Honor (3), The Sound of Music play version recording (4), Toy Story series (5), and a Wrinkle in Time (6). With the Monday list being void at the moment, I’ll do the Sunday list on Mondays. I’ll also only tell you of the Monday list when a choice from it is now on another list. The first movie that I could see this week was Our Lips are Sealed, the number 5 choice. With that gone from the list, Ice Age is now number 5, Fireproof is now number 4, Enchanted in now number 3, and the dancing videos, which were on the Monday list the longest, is now number 2. Any Monday movie choice I mention as being on the list the longest will be movies that have not already found a new list.

Movie update part 2: I was finally able to roll that elusive number six for the Sunday movies. That means that I’ll watch Seventeen Again and replace it with Survivor: Borneo- the Greatest and Most Outrageous Moments. I decided that it would be best to replace it now rather than wait until all the Monday choices are moved. We’ll see how soon I’m able to watch it. I promise to stop reporting about movies in this blog when I watch it again. Well, maybe I’ll do a bit more and then stop. Plus all my hard work could be ruined if there’s another unfortunate death in the Survivor community. If I’m updating my TV blog every Sunday, that will mean that I am watching Survivor: Borneo again, starting with that special in question. The next movie that I rolled was Celtic Woman, so I watched their Believe concert. The last movie of the week was a Wrinkle in Time. That was the number 6 choice. With that gone from the list, the Toy Story series is now number 6, The Sound of Music is now number 5, Made of Honor is now number 4, Lilo and Stitch is now number 3, and Bible Video Stories, from the Monday list, is now number 2. The old Monday list now has only three choices, so I could reinstate it. We’ll see.

I am going to add my thoughts about Jenn at the moment. A lot of fans like her. I really don’t. Every time she gets a confessional, she seems to be excessively bitchy. And I don’t want to use that word (bitchy), but I’m not sure how else to describe it. Sometimes contestants get more love than I understand. And I don’t even hate the contestants sometimes (or at least, I don’t think that I hate them), but I just don’t understand why they get the love that they do. Jenn is someone that I feel is getting a bad edit, despite her high amount of airtime. Is she a female Russell Hantz? I hope not. I don’t want there to be more people like him. But if she’s supposed to represent Jenna, the winner of Amazon, then I might finally understand why people don’t like her as a winner. And while I don’t hate Stephen Fishbach, for instance, I don’t know why people like him as much as they do. Meanwhile, the most recent winner that I wasn’t fond of was Sophie and that may have been due to someone else’s influence. I really hope that I like the winner of this season. And I really hope that it’s not Jenn. If they want her to look good, why is she always portrayed as being so mean in every episode?

Here’s an interesting thing that I noticed. It regards injuries people have received in recent seasons. I mentioned a bit of this in my last blog post. Tyson got injured in the season that he became a finalist in. So did Woo. So did Missy. Now, we have Kelly who has a head injury but we don’t know if she’ll become a finalist or not. I think that her game would have to pick up a lot in the edit. And this injury could lead to her getting voted out or medically evacuated. But to all you people who notice things like this (or if you don’t, but are still interested), I thought that I would point this out. Of course, since the order has been first place, second place, third place, maybe Kelly is destined to be fourth place this season. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Shirin is upset that Max got voted out of the game. Not much happened besides that. Dan tells his new tribe the story of how he lost his underwear. Rodney forms a bond with Joaquin. The reward challenge looks pretty cool. I always love a new challenge, unless it is a bad, untested challenge used as a Redemption Island duel. But other than that, it normally is very good to see a cool new challenge. In the end, it is Nagorate that wins the challenge. They do some kind of weird chant after doing so.

In the next segment of the show, Nagorate enjoys their reward. Sierra schemes to get new allies as she doesn’t like her old tribe. Not much seemed to happen in that segment. Escameca talks about throwing the next challenge so that they get rid of Joe. Why Joe? That doesn’t make much sense. They might be doing this to keep Kelly safe. But they shouldn’t have to worry about Joe flipping because Sierra is on their tribe. The immunity challenge is about memorizing items. The final round was Mike versus Kelly and Mike throws it in a hopefully clever way that might have been a bit too obvious. Did other people notice? I hope not, but this could prove bad to Mike. Or will it?

In the next segment of the show, Mike had mixed feelings about throwing the challenge. Nobody thinks that they should get rid of Sierra at the moment. Is Joe going home or is that just a misleading thing that they like to do before challenge? Loyalties seem to be what people are talking about before tribal council. We then get to the tribal council itself. What side will Sierra join with? She might actually be making herself a target instead of a swing vote. As usual, it is hard to tell what will happen. Joaquin gets voted out. Thus, the person who blacked him out early on the Addicted to Survivor facebook group (blacking out is typically only done when a contestant is voted out) was right about him not having much chance in the game.

On the next Survivor, Rodney is betrayed and rightfully so. Then the merge happens next causing a bunch of new drama, of course.

Total confessional count: Will- 9, Joaquin- 9, Sierra- 9, Joe- 8, Jenn- 12, Dan- 8, Hali- 12, Tyler- 7, Mike- 13, Rodney- 12, Shirin- 10, Kelly- 7, Carolyn- 11.

New confessionals this episode: Sierra- 3, Joe- 1, Jenn- 1, Dan- 1, Hali- 1, Tyler- 0, Mike- 2, Rodney- 4, Shirin- 3, Kelly- 1, Carolyn- 1, Will- 0, Joaquin- 2.

It looks like Kelly and Tyler are at the bottom of the confessional count. Mike is the highest at the moment. Will, Sierra, Joe, and Dan are not the lowest, but join Kelly and Tyler as being below ten confessionals. I really don’t think that this is a great cast this season. It might be one of the craziest casts, but it doesn’t seem to qualify as good. Who am I supposed to root for? I may support Kelly at the moment, but I’m not sure she has much of a chance at the game. I hope that I’m wrong about that, but we’ll see. Also, if not this coming Wednesday, pretty soon you should see my posts return to Wednesdays instead of Thursdays. Lent is nearing the end and we don’t have Lenten services during holy week. So I should be back to a regularly scheduled time of the week for this blog of mine to be updated at. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 30.4

Once again, we have a two hour episode of Survivor for some odd reason instead of a more usual one hour episode. So every blog post that I do of this season after this one could be a misnomer as it is an episode off. Next week’s episode I’ll call 30.5 even if it is really 30.6 as 30.5 will be part of this episode. I’m not sure why they are doing that, but it might make some sense somehow. Could this episode feature the return of the medical evacuation? I doubt it. The last two times they tried tricking us with that, we saw the players in question make it all the way to day 39 to only receive a single jury vote. But this might not be the same trick as before. We’ll see if future promos have more insight into it. Just remember that this is how I want players to currently return: Erik, Joe, and Bruce in one group, Dana, Gary, and Kourtney in another group, and Shamar with Mike Borrassi in the only group left. At the moment, all other medically evacuated players have already returned to the game after they were pulled from it, so they won’t be considered for my list.

Movie update: This week was very busy and I wasn’t able to see as many movies as I normally would be able to. That’s how I feel the week will start out, at least. It turns out I was right. No movie for me on Saturday or Sunday. I really hope that I can roll from the Saturday list again. On Monday, something interesting happened. I rolled the first choice: Amadeus. Now I am out of different a choices to choose from with movies so I can’t replace it. And since I want to lower the number of movie lists that I have, this could prove to be beneficial. I’ll even kill two birds with one stone by rolling from the Sunday list on both Mondays and Sundays until I can roll the number six twice. There’s an order I have based on seniority that will put the Monday movie choices on other days. The same letter (such as m) appearing on other lists could affect changing things and I won’t be able to roll from the Monday list for a while. But I’ll break my rule about not reordering the things on the other lists. I just hope that this isn’t too complicated for people to understand. What did I watch on Tuesday? I watched Toy Story. That being part of a series, I won’t have to worry about reorganizing other lists until the next update.

Remember how the first two seasons of Survivor had greatest and most outrageous moments specials? Well, I don’t think that any other seasons have specials like that but I dreamt that the third season had one and I found it at a store that I go to that isn’t technically a good will store, but is close enough to one that most people would call it that.

Future promos have revealed that there will be a tribe swap in this episode. I hope that I can remember who is on each tribe to begin with and hopefully I can catch who will be on the new tribes. I’ll be sure to point out the tribe swap in a future paragraph. Unfortunately, I do not have notes for this season. I normally print out a page with the contestants’ names on them and I use them for note. I swear that I printed out that page, but I can’t find it anywhere. I don’t know what happened to it and since I gave up Wikipedia for Lent, I won’t be able to access what I want to at all. I just hope that I can remember who is on each tribe now and who will be on each tribe in the future. I predict that the Nagarote tribe will be the one that gets dissolved.

So far, the collar twist doesn’t seem to be working out that well. The blue collar tribe has failed to live up to potential. Getting rid of the twist (sort of) will obviously shake up the game. Like all twists, it will probably continue to affect the game until the very end. I’m not sure what all I should say about that. I hope that the upcoming tribe swap is good at shaking up the game. Maybe then we’ll find out more about various players in the game. I’m honestly not sure why I added this paragraph. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Hali explains why she voted against Nina despite actually wanting Nina voted out. Will knows that he’s at the bottom of his tribe. The blue collars kill a snake. Mike seems to be the most noticeable of the blue collars so he might be the one on that tribe who will do the best. We then get to the first true reward challenge of the season. That sure took a while. But why start the challenge so soon? This is where the potential medical evacuation could occur. How long will it be until there’s a commercial break? It might be cruelly timed. Kelly is the one that gets injured.

In the second segment of the show, Kelly can keep playing despite her injury. Will it cause more problems? Probably. This is the first time that the blue collar tribe loses a challenge. The no collar tribe came in first with white collar coming in second. Once the challenge is over, we then go right back to commercial again.

In the third segment of the show, we see the no collar tribe after they won the reward. Will is celebrating his birthday today. Jennn doesn’t like what her tribe is doing to the chickens. She then looks for a hidden immunity idol. If I were ever looking for an idol, I’d have to notice where the cameras were pointing to because they always reveal that to the audience. Jenn does find the idol. I can’t tell how symbolic the music is supposed to be right now. The blue collar tribe seems to get into even more fights. Have there been that many fights on a single tribe before? I am getting more and more convinced that this tribe is going to fail miserably. Maybe they are like Tandang where they should be a good tribe, but they fail to produce a winner. We see more of the white collar tribe. They enjoy their reward. Carolyn is upset that people want to sit her out of the challenge as they are afraid that Shirin would be upset if she didn’t get to play. Carolyn doesn’t seem to fit in that well.

In the fourth segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. I predict that the no collars will lose the challenge. Why is Kelly competing in the challenge? That doesn’t seem like a good idea. Once again, Will sucks at the challenge. Shirin is the person who sits out of the challenge for the white collar tribe. Rodney does bad at a part of the challenge. The tribes seem to be evenly matched throughout the challenge. Apparently the no collars win the challenge and the white collars come in second. This makes the blue collar tribe attend tribal council.

In the fifth segment of the show, it seems that the vote will be between either Rodney or Lindsey. This is the first time in a multi-tribe season that all the tribes went to tribal council before any were dissolved. Of course, that would have been impossible in Panama or Cook Islands due to how the tribes were switched around before all of them could have attended tribal council. Some people are convinced that a blue collar person will win the game. Will that happen? I don’t know. In the end, it is three way tie. Where did this come from? Maybe Sierra is going to get voted out of the game for some odd reason. I don’t understand what is going on. Lindsey gets voted out, but why did people even vote against Sierra? Does that make any sense? We then get back to their tribe after tribal council. They must have split the vote for some odd reason. But we still don’t know why this all happened. At least Sierra is getting more airtime for a change. At the challenge, we get to the tribe swap.

In the sixth segment of the show, the tribe swap happens. Masaya is the tribe that gets dissolved and the rewards that they’ve won are also part of the reward for the winner of the challenge. In the end, Escameca wins the challenge. How will the tribe swap affect the rest of the game? Well, we’ll see that pretty soon.

Here’s how the tribes originally stood- Escameca (originally blue collar): Dan, Kelly, Mike, Rodney, and Sierra; Masaya (originally white collar): Carolyn, Joaquin, Max, Shirin, and Tyler; and Nagarote (originally no collar): Hali, Jenn, Joe, and Will. Here are the new tribes- Escameca (the blue tribe): Dan, Sierra, Joe, Tyler, Joaquin, Mike, and Rodney with Nagarote (the red tribe): Will, Hali, Jenn, Max, Carolyn, Shirin, and Kelly.

In the seventh segment of the show, we get to the new Nagarote tribe. With three no collars and three white collars on this tribe, Kelly, the blue collar member, wonders which side she’s going to join. The new Escameca gets to know each other. They think that the four blue collars will stick together, but Sierra is planning on flipping pretty soon. Jenn still gets a terrible edit of her being very rude to everyone in her confessionals. Why do people like her? Max gets stung by a stingray and uses the tribe’s drinking water to recover his feet that were hurt. Carolyn also considers flipping on her tribe.

In the eighth segment of the show, Mike wonders how to address the possible problem of Sierra possibly flipping. Dan attempts to make things better but will probably only make things worse. I am convinced that she will flip if given the opportunity. We then get to the immunity challenge. The gender imbalance in the tribes are causing problems at this challenge. In the end, Escameca wins immunity.

In the ninth segment of the show, Nagarote gets back from losing the challenge. Max is glad that his tribe lost the challenge. That may not bode well for him. However, everyone seems to think that voting out Will is the best choice in the game. But things quickly turned to make it seem like either Max or Shirin will get voted out. A lot of things are said at tribal council. I realize that I have a hard time summarizing things. In the end, Max gets voted out of the game. While I couldn’t tell for sure, I’m pretty sure that I saw this coming. He’s like Burton in a way. He was glad his tribe lost the challenge only to be voted out that same night.

On the next Survivor, Rodney makes himself a target while trying to make himself future alliances in the game. We can’t tell what will happen next at the moment.

Total confessional count: Dan- 7, Hali- 11, Tyler- 7, Mike- 11, Rodney- 8, Shirin- 7, Kelly- 6, Carolyn- 10, Will- 9, Joaquin- 7, Sierra- 6, Joe- 7, Jenn- 11, Lindsey- 5, Max- 9.

New confessionals this episode: Mike- 6, Rodney- 3, Shirin- 3, Kelly- 4, Carolyn- 4, Will- 3, Joaquin- 2, Sierra- 5, Joe- 0, Jenn- 3, Lindsey- 1, Max- 4, Dan- 2, Hali- 4, Tyler- 1.

I may have to ignore the boost of 7 confessionals due to the influx of new confessionals in the game. Sierra and Kelly are the two lowest right now and are both just one confessional shy of the seven that Vince had when he was voted out. Carolyn now has ten. Mike, Hali, and Jenn all have the highest with eleven confessionals. Everyone else that is still in the game has seven or higher. So it’s still hard to determine who a frontrunner might be. This season will probably still prove to be interesting. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 30.3

7 confessionals is the number to beat for people still in the game. If someone who has the highest confessional count gets eliminated, then I’ll post the new number to be beaten. 7 is the confessionals that Vince had. Whoever can beat it (the sooner the better) will probably have good chances at the game. If people can’t beat it soon, then don’t have high hopes for them. I hope that you don’t think of my confessional counts as spoilers. If the last season counts for anything, it means that you can’t always relay on confessionals to be a good indicator. But like the challenge loser being revealed in the explanation of the challenge, they are more accurate of good things than not.

Movie update: Once again we get to the most useless paragraph I have in this blog. Saturday’s movie didn’t come from the list, so that I’m ignoring. Sunday’s movie was my high school graduation. I replaced that with Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Monday’s movie was A Walk to Remember. I replaced that with Titanic. Tuesday’s movie was The Wizard of Oz. I replaced that with A Wrinkle in Time. As I mentioned before, I could wind up getting rid of other movie lists besides just the Sunday list. Which list and why I do that will be mentioned when/if it happens.

http://adamdeckergoodwifetvshow.blogspot.com/ That’s a link to my other new blog about the TV show called The Good Wife. Geez, Adam! You’re creating all sorts of new blogs? Why? I can’t honestly explain why I’m doing all these new blogs. I currently have four blogs now (this being one of them). Three of them are about a particular TV show and another is just about TV in general. But now you have another one of mine to look at if you are interested in it. Not sure when I’ll be able to update it. I always update this blog the day of a new episode or the day immediately afterwards. This blog is always on a set schedule. Even if there aren’t any new episodes airing at the moment, I’d still update this every week. I just wish that people would remember that when Survivor is on hiatus that this blog is still going to be updated. This blog doesn’t go on hiatus ever (which is more than I can say about my other blogs which I update whenever the mood strikes me) so it surprises me that people don’t always read it. But I’ll be here whenever I can be.

POSSIBLE SPOILER. You may know that I visit the Survivor Wiki a lot (although I’ve given up that and all other Wikia sites for Lent) so I learn a lot of information from that site. Now sometimes things can get through that site that aren’t supposed to: namely, spoilers about future seasons. I saw something that might have just been a mistake that someone put. It may not be a real spoiler. But I decided to mention this here in case something about it happened. There are five Survivor contestants who have never been to tribal council: Wanda and Jonathan from Palau, Gary from Fiji, Kourtney from One World, and Dana from Philippines. I looked at one of those pages as it had been recently edited. It mentioned that there were six contestants who never went to tribal council, implying that someone from this season will not be able to go to tribal council before they are out of the game. It could be a quit or a medical evacuation. Or, like I said, a mistake by an editor who thought that there was one more contestant than there actually was. Look out for someone on the blue collar tribe if it winds up happening. I hope that there’s not a quit as there have been far too many of them, especially recently. We’ll see if it happens or not. END POTENTIAL SPOILER.

I have high expectations for this season. A lot of people have been liking this season so far. I don’t know yet if it will live up to its potential or not. It’s hard to tell who they are trying to push as a good candidate and who we are just supposed to think of as ridiculous and having no chance at the game. I know that some people like Jenn at the moment, but I don’t like her now. I hope that I like her better if she winds up doing well in the game. But we’ll see if they want us to like her or not. I just know that the first two people voted out both had the highest confessional counts in the game. I’m sorry for those of you who don’t like me pointing out the confessional count. But I’ll keep doing that for now.

For some odd reason, I keep having dreams that imply that a Survivor contestant has died. What’s with those dreams? Do I obsess on the topic too much? I might. I really might. But if my subconscious is trying to tell me to get over this obsession of mine, then why does it keep bringing up this topic in dreams of mine? It is weird. Incredibly weird. That’s what all dreams are when you think about it. Some dreams make sense, but that rarely happens with me, at least. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, the no collar tribe talked about the recent vote. Nina talks about how she feels like she’s on the bottom and she wants to let people know that she wants to feel good in the game until she’s eliminated. Jenn thinks that Nina is using deafness as an excuse to not fit in. Why do people like Jenn when she’s saying things like that? Survivor is serious business and one has a right to get upset about what happens in it. Shirin also sees monkey sex.

In the second segment of the show, Dan might finally realize some of his mistakes in the game, mostly that he says too much. I can’t tell what he called his mother since they keep censoring it so it must have been bad. I probably don’t know all the words they censor anyways. Sometimes words are censored and sometimes they aren’t. There are more than seven dirty words, by the way. I looked up what those seven words are so I know that. Hali and Jenn are an obvious pair of alliance members, at least according to the edit. They go surfing. Also Joe connects with Nina. Some of their tribe eats lizard.

In the third segment of the show, Carolyn notices the other tribe members are looking for the idol that she has. Joaquin seems to be alienating himself from Shirin. He also shows Tyler a hidden immunity idol clue. This is the point where I wonder why Carolyn doesn’t make a fake idol to hide where the old one was. I really do miss them. Mike is also upset about everybody’s lack of work ethic on the blue collar tribe. To me it seems like I’m not going to expect the winner from this tribe after all. It looks like it could easily self-distrust. So many people don’t like Mike and if he isn’t the bottom of his tribe, then I don’t really know what to think.

In the fourth segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. I predict that the no collar tribe will lose the challenge. Now I need to eat a banana so I won’t talk much about the challenge. The no collar’s terrible strategy where they get rid of Nina leads to their loss. People talk about that failed plan after the challenge. I have a suspicion that Will is actually going to be the one voted out. The rest of the tribe talks about doing that. We don’t get much about who they might vote for before tribal council as they are probably trying to keep us in suspense. Joe talked about his failure in the challenge and people think that Nina brings up being deaf too much. Nina talks about how they should get rid of Will. Unfortunately, it is Nina that gets voted out of the game.

On the next Survivor, there might be a need for medical to check out some female in the game and there are more fights on the blue collar tribe. Also, it is a two hour episode for some odd reason. I wonder why? Does that make sense to anyone else? To me it doesn’t, for now at least.

Total confessional count: Carolyn- 6, Will- 6, Joaquin- 5, Sierra- 1, Joe- 7, Jenn- 8, Lindsey- 4, Max- 5, Dan- 5, Hali- 7, Tyler- 6, Mike- 5, Rodney- 5, Shirin- 4, Nina- 6, Kelly- 2.

New confessionals this episode: Sierra- 0, Joe- 3, Jenn- 3, Lindsey- 1, Max- 0, Dan- 1, Hali- 2, Tyler- 2, Mike- 1, Rodney- 2, Shirin- 1, Nina- 3, Kelly- 1, Carolyn- 2, Will- 3, Joaquin- 1.

It looks like Jenn has the highest confessional count with eight confessionals. Sierra has the lowest with just one. Joe and Hali are at seven confessionals so we’ll see who else can make it that high. They should really give Jenn a better edit if they really want us to root for her. Right now, she just seems like a mean person who doesn’t like deaf people. I guess that’s all I want to talk about. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode 30.2

I don’t know why my random blog posts about Survivor aren’t read that well, or at all, by people. I always say that I’ll be posting them ahead of time. But I shouldn’t really worry about this. I already have some written for the future that aren’t posted now. But I will post them later. I might add a new section of my blog post regarding anyone who was voted out or otherwise eliminated in the previous episode. I might not, but we’ll see if that happens or not. Basically, there are some thoughts they want us to think after the scenes from next episode and we sometimes wonder something about whoever was eliminated in the previous episode.

Movie update: For the future (the rest of this Survivor season at least) I hope to have movie updates limited to just one paragraph so that you’ll know which one to skip automatically. In less, of course, you want to read it. You might be wondering what the most recent version of the movie lists are. Well, let me tell you. Well, before I watched movies this week, there were six movies on each list. I will mention the lists in alphabetical order. Saturday list: The Chronicles of Narnia series, Enchanted, Fireproof, Ice Age, Our Lips are Sealed, and The Parent Trap (remake). Sunday list: Celtic Woman concerts, Finding Nemo, Graduations, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Rat Race, and Seventeen Again. Monday list: Amadeus, Bible Video Stories, dancing videos, Monster’s University, Paulie, and A Walk to Remember. Tuesday list: Dumbo, Lilo and Stitch, Made of Honor, The Sound of Music (recording of a play version), The Toy Story series, and The Wizard of Oz (recording of a play version).  I was unable to watch a movie from my list on Saturday (although I did watch a movie that day), but I was able to watch one on Sunday. I watched Finding Nemo and replaced it with The Emperor’s New Groove. On Monday, I was finally able to see one of those Bible Video Stories. Since there are two more of those still to watch, that choice remains on my list. On Tuesday, I watched Dumbo and replaced it with Aladdin.

What other ramblings can I do? I know that I don’t have to do any ramblings whatsoever, but I do for whatever strange reason I have. I’m autistic! That probably explains everything. Of course, you might have already known that. It depends on how much one reads this blog of mine. I’ll be posting about the most recent Survivor every Thursday until I can go back to posting on Wednesdays. Until then, I’ll be here every week.

Keep a look out at the confessional count this week. So Kim had the highest confessional count last week with 5. Let’s see how quickly everyone else in the game can beat that number. The sooner they beat it, the better. I was actually able to see this episode live because the weather was bad enough to cancel church. I didn’t end up going anywhere that day. But I will still update this on Thursdays throughout the rest of Lent until I can change back to a normal schedule. I don’t think that it will happen again this year, although I could be wrong. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, we have a nature shot of a bunch of crabs. I do wonder what that’s supposed to represent. Dan lost his underwear. It made the rest of his tribe feel uncomfortable and made some even doubt as to why that happened.

In the second segment of the show, they figured out how to start fire on the Masaya (white collar) tribe. Max strips naked for mostly no good reason. He wants private time yet, oddly, is not looking for a hidden immunity idol. Shirin thinks that it’s convenient to be naked a lot. She must be getting a lot of tweets regarding that. Hali finds it hard to talk to Nina. I do find it annoying when I have to repeat myself a lot which is why I typically avoid repeating myself a lot. Nina feels ostracized and rightfully so. This leads her to get mad at her tribe, as revealed in the promos for this episode. Jenn is very bitchy regarding that. I don’t think that I like Jenn.

In the third segment of the show, the blue collar tribe is a bit lazy or at least too lazy for Mike. The no collar tribe goes crab chasing. Vince is really jealous of Joe for some odd reason. This probably makes Vince more of a target than he would like.

In the fourth segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. DO REWARD CHALLENGES FOR GOODNESS SAKES! This better not become a habit of theirs this season. I predict that the no collar tribe will lose the challenge since they were shown winning it in the challenge description. You know what I really hate about combined reward/immunity challenges in three tribe seasons? There’s a bigger reward for the first place tribe and a lesser reward for the second place tribe. If they must combine the two types of challenges, why not just have one reward for the first place tribe? The second place can get no reward, but still have immunity. Why not do it like that? I mean, if you don’t have individual reward challenges, then don’t give two rewards at the immunity challenge! Sorry, but if I worked for Survivor, things would probably be done differently.

Wait, you want to know about what’s happening at the challenge? Well, the challenge is mostly evenly matched. But I might be right about the no collar tribe losing the challenge since Will did badly at the challenge. Can they pull a come from behind win? White collar and blue collar start fighting for first place. The white collar tribe wins the challenge, thus making Survivor history in terms of three tribe seasons. For once, the first two tribal councils are not attended by the same tribe. That never happened in a three tribe season before. The no collar tribe loses the challenge as I predicted. Maybe they don’t know how often that edit is obvious to some big fans like me. But they don’t always do that every time they do a challenge.

In the fifth segment of the show, the usual drama unfolded that always happens before a tribal council. A spilt vote is proposed, but is probably going to be abandoned. Will is a double agent and that doesn’t seem to be a good position for him to be in. Every no collar member has a confessional so they are probably all fair game. Will is the swing vote. Nina talks about her hearing problems and how it is a liability to herself. Everyone wonders who will be voting for who. That votes seem scattered. Vince is the one who gets voted out which surprises my sister and mother who are watching it upstairs.

On the next Survivor, a bunch of stuff happens and do do dee dee. (Simpsons reference). Anyways, I won’t even attempt to summarize that really really vague promo. The blue collar tribe might visit tribal council really soon. Already this season is pretty different. They lost a great character in Vince, but it looks like there could be more where he came from Jeff promised a great cast this season, right? I know he’s lied to us before so…

Total confessional count: Max- 5, Dan- 4, Hali- 5, Tyler- 4, Mike- 4, Rodney- 3, Shirin- 3, Nina- 3, Kelly- 1, Carolyn- 4, Will- 3, Joaquin- 4, Sierra- 1, Vince- 7, Joe- 4, Jenn- 5, Lindsey- 3.

New confessionals this episode: Rodney- 1, Shirin- 1, Nina- 2, Kelly- 0, Carolyn- 0, Will- 1, Joaquin- 1, Sierra- 0, Vince- 4, Joe- 2, Jenn- 1, Lindsey- 1, Max- 2, Dan- 0, Hali- 3, Tyler- 1, Mike- 2.

For the second time in a row, the person with the highest total confessionals thus far gets eliminated from the game. This makes Hali, Max, and Jenn the highest for the moment. The lowest are Sierra and Kelly. I still don’t know which tribe has the best long term chances in the game. I also don’t know which contestant is doing the best yet either. We’ll see what happens as time goes by. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Survivor: Worlds Apart Premiere

Well, I’m going to keep you updated about the movie watching that I’m doing. And while I know that there is not enough material with just B. B. Andersen, I’ll be doing something else while I write about him. I don’t know yet if I’ll do a drinking game with it or not. I might not. We’ll see what ends up happening. Plus, you may see a whole ‘nother set of movies on a new list getting created. It all depends on what my Christmas presents end up being and what my dreams may put things on my list. There’s a lot of movies that I want to add to the list pretty soon. This could wind up being a long update before we even get to the actual part, so either bear with me or skip to the part that says, “In the first segment of this show…” This is going to take a while. And while I keep track of deceased contestants, I won’t do Caleb Bankston until that season is on DVD. Wow, I’ve already said a lot in just one paragraph. Okay, Adam: breathe. Just breathe and relax. You can write this later. Since the show doesn’t even start until February, I probably shouldn’t even have started this the day after the last season ended. If you aren’t interested in the movies that I’ve been watching lately, then please skip to the paragraph that begins: now that I’m done with talking about movies. I won’t hold it against you. I don’t even know why I’m telling you about it. I guess that I just want you to know the instance I start watching Survivor: Borneo again, although, when I do that, I will add a new post to my TV blog every Sunday that I’m able to watch Survivor. Now, let’s start rambling as I have a lot to say.

I am adding this paragraph to tell you that I will be talking a lot about the movies that I watched until Survivor started again. So if you don’t want to know about them, then please skip to later in this blog. If you do want to read about them, please feel free to. I’m not even sure why I’m telling you about all of this. But I put it all here and if you don’t want to read about, then skip to the paragraph that says that I’m done talking about it. I won’t blame you if you do it. Now to begin this long and boring update about movie watching that I did

I won’t bother telling you when I watched these movies until the season started. I’ll just tell you what movies I watched and what I ended up replacing them with. I watched Aladdin and replaced it with a VHS recording of a performance of the play Arsenic and Old Lace. I then rolled Arsenic and Old Lace as was going to watch it, but the audio was poor and garbled. Turning up the volume didn’t help with the problem, so I watched a Christmas home video instead as this was back in December, before the next year started. In fact, movies watched in one year can be watched the next year (but normally not the same year) so Aladdin could possibly return to the list in 2015. Arsenic and Old Lace was replaced by The Aristocats. Thus ends the movie watching of 2014. For various reasons, a new list, to be watched on Tuesdays, was added. Here are the movies in alphabetical order: Flight of the Phoenix, a Little Princess, Mighty Morphing Power Rangers: the Movie, Raise Your Voice, Taken, and the Wizard of Oz. All of them were added because of dreams that I had about them. It should be noted that the Wizard of Oz that I’m watching is a play version that I was in and not the classic Judy Garland movie.

So I wound up watching Pocahontas and replaced it with Rat Race. I watched Stargate and replaced it with Recess: School’s Out. While I normally would only watch that towards the end of the school year, since I’m not in school anymore, I’ll watch it anytime before the first back to school commercial of the year airs. If I’m not able to watch it by then, it will be taken off of the list and I won’t be able to watch it again until next year. I also watched Raise Your Voice and replaced it with the Ron Clark Story. I’ve never actually seen that before. My mother accidently got that for me for Christmas. She meant to get me Front of the Class, but she got that instead.

We then get to the next week. I watched National Treasure and replaced it with a post event DVD of the National Youth Gathering from 2007. Shout out to all LCMS members! I was there in Orlando that summer. Anyways, I then watch Little Rascals and replace it with The Miracle Worker, which is about Helen Keller, for those that didn’t know. I then watched The Aristocats and replaced it with Amadeus, which I’ve never seen before, but am interested in watching. After that, I watched Flight of the Phoenix and replaced it with The Hitchhiker’s Guide of the Galaxy.

The week after that, I watched Fifty First Dates and replaced it with Enchanted. Fifty First Dates was one of my sister’s movies that I had to take off the list at the soonest point that I could. I am ignoring the commentary with this movie so it can be replaced. I just have only two of her movies left, unless I have to worry about VHS movies of hers being removed sometime. Back to movies: I then watched The Miracle Worker and replaced it with Mulan. After that, I watched The Omega Code and replaced it with (drum roll please) The Omega Code 2. Lastly, for that week at least, I watched a Little Princess and replaced it with Lilo and Stitch.

We get to the next week. Yes, I am already getting bored of this update and don’t know what the point of this movie update is. But, I figure that my blog posts would be too short without my ramblings like this. I will stop posting any and all movie updates when I finally get to watch the Survivor: Borneo special again. After getting rid of the Sunday list, I’ll be watching the first season again while taking notes about it which I’ll share during a hiatus between airing seasons. And yes, I’ve told you that before.

Anyways, Saturday was when I watched the post gathering DVD of the 2007 LCMS National Youth Gathering. I end up replacing it with Our Lips are Sealed. I went to the 2010 gathering as well, the one in New Orleans, but there is no DVD of that for me to watch. (Just an interesting thought for the superstitious: if something bad has happened to New Orleans/Louisiana area in 2005 and 2010, then is something bad going to happen this year, in 2015?) The next movie that I rolled was Mulan. I replaced it with Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. I do not currently have the first Night at the Museum movie so you won’t see me watching it just yet. I then watched Power Rangers: the Ultimate Rangers. That has four hours worth of episodes that can be watched consecutively. I replaced it with Paulie. With the old choice stuck between o and r, I was stuck with another p choice since I lacked any q movies. In fact, if one list doesn’t have a choice to replace it within a certain letter range, then I have to give up that list. More on that if I cross that bridge. I actually have other p choices, but I didn’t want to choose between the other ones for various reasons. Lastly, for this week in question, I watched Taken and replaced it with the first movie in the Toy Story series.

Here’s another worthless paragraph! If you actually read through the whole posts I make in the past (thank you for doing that, but please do better things with your life), you may have noticed that I mentioned being a fan of CinemaSins. Well, I once tweeted them that they should do Toy Story. They then ended up doing Toy Story. I find that a great honor, even if I probably wasn’t the only one who suggested that. Now if you want to skip to an actually important part of this blog post, go ahead and do so. I won’t mind. I really don’t know why I’m telling you about all these movies. I guess it is so you know when I start to watch Survivor: Borneo again, only during hiatus is when you’d see my thoughts on B. B. Andersen. And since his time in the game was pretty short, I might write other notes while I’m at it.

On Saturday, I watched Monster’s Inc and replaced it with Ice Age. On Sunday, I watched The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and replaced it with two things actually, the first of which will be my grade school graduation DVD. The one that will replace it will be my high school graduation DVD. But we’ll get to the later. I’m just glad that I finally stopped rolling fours for once on Sunday. Now The Hobbit series will probably reappear on this list later this year. Typically, I watch a movie, but don’t watch it again the same year. But, there are some exceptions to that rule. Anyways, on Monday, I watched another dancing video and still have more of them to watch after that so it will remain on the list for now. On Tuesday, I watched Mighty Morphing Power Rangers: the Movie. Now of the new Tuesday list, it had four movies that I watched last year on it, a movie I dreamt about in December, and a movie that I had been trying to add since last year before I gave up the list for December. It looks like the movie I could have added soonest has now spent the longest time on the list. In the first five weeks of having this list, I rolled from it a different choice so far. Anyways, I replaced the Power Rangers movie with Made of Honor.

Now I’ve mentioned in this blog before my strange history with the Charmed DVD collection of mine. I started my collection with the fifth season. I then got the first, then the sixth, then the second, then the third, then the fourth. I still don’t have the last two seasons yet. But watching the show out of order is really confusing. I didn’t want to ever do it again, but it happened again. Last summer, my brother got me a Power Rangers DVD for my birthday. It was the second volume of the second season, since he wasn’t able to start at the beginning. So I watched it and then added the Power Rangers movie that I mentioned earlier onto the list. Of course, after watching it I had a dream about it, which is why it was on the list again this year. Since the third season of Power Rangers starts right after the movie takes place, I will probably get that season next on DVD. But I still have to get both volumes of the first season and the first volume of the second season. But I’ll talk more about that in my new blog. I started a blog about Madam Secretary. Here’s the link: http://adamdeckermadamsecretaryblog.blogspot.com/

Here’s the next week of movie watching: On Saturday, I watched Heidi and replaced it with Fireproof. I highly recommend the movie Fireproof to anyone that hasn’t seen it. And if you have seen it, then I suggest that you watch it again. On Sunday, I watched Celtic Woman: A New Journey and replaced it with the next Celtic Woman live concert. On Monday, I watched another dancing video and there are still more of them left so they do not need to be replaced at the moment. On Tuesday, I watched The Ron Clark Story. It’s actually a pretty good movie. Afterwards, I replaced it with The Sound of Music, and, like other things on this list, this is a recording of a play version, this one having my cousins in it.

The next week gets a bit confusing since I wasn’t able to watch things normally. Plus, there was a movie that I watched without it being any list. Why I watched it, I’ll get to shortly. I ended up watching my grade school graduation DVD, which doesn’t actually have any footage from said graduation on it. The name I gave it is kind of a misnomer. Anyways, that choice remains on the list as there’s still my high school graduation to watch. I also watched The Omega Code 2 and replaced it with Monster’s University. After I had watched Monster’s Inc earlier this year, I stopped by a store and bought Monster’s University, its prequel, since there were no other movies at the time for me to add onto the list. What I’m referring to is that sometimes there are movies for me to add to the list that changes my usual method of replacing movies. The usual method of replacing movies on the list is normally decided by me simply rolling for a replacement. But if I recently acquired a new movie, I dream about a movie I have, or I simply want to watch a movie, then I add it to the list without having to roll for something.

So I ignored the movies for a day of the week to watch The Ultimate Gift. Why did I watch that? Well, I’m going to tell you possible spoilers about that movie. A dead grandfather is central to the plot of the movie. The day I watched this movie was the anniversary of my grandfather’s death. (My other grandfather is still alive.) That is why I ignored the rolling list for that day.

Now there’s only one last week of movie watching to tell you about from before the new season starts. Then I will just post updates once a week about each week of movie watching. On Saturday, I watched the Decker Family DVD that I’m pretty sure I told you about before. I then replaced it with the Chronicles of Narnia movie series. I’m not entirely sure that I should put that on the list again, but I think that it might work out, for now at least. I’m worried about certain movies no longer being available to me, but that could change if I want it to or I could go to a video store that I know has the movies that I’m interested in. Alternatively, I could just get rid of that option with something else. I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

On Sunday, I watched Celtic Woman: Songs from the Heart. When I watch that, I also have to go online to watch two songs from the concert that aren’t on the DVD. Ultimately, looking up stuff online may be a good thing considering how I watch something online to do a cast assessment of the season. If you are reading this post, then there won’t be a cast assessment this season and I’ll explain why later. That concert will be replaced by the next Celtic Woman concert called Believe. On Monday, I watched Recess: School’s Out. I replaced it with A Walk to Remember. The last movie that I would wind up watching before the season premiere of Survivor was The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. That would be replaced by Dumbo. Now Dumbo should be with Rain Man and the Back to the Future trilogy as summer movies. But a Dumbo dream of mine put it on the list sooner.

Now that I’m done with talking about movies, I might as well bore you to death about various dreams I had about Survivor. One was about Survivor: Guatemala and implied that a contestant from that season died. Well, I’m not exactly sure that’s what the dream meant as they are hard to interpret sometimes. Another Survivor dream implied that a lot of my former classmates had competed on Survivor. Now in reality, I have never known a Survivor contestant before they have done the show. (I’ve technically never known any after they’ve done the show either, but thanks to social media like Facebook and Twitter, I can interact with them that way.) I hope that I will meet one in person someday, although I’d settle for a Skype conversation. I’d start vlogs where I’d interview contestants, but I lack the technology to do that and probably won’t get it anytime soon. While I could potentially borrow the technology, I don’t want to impose on anyone.

You may also be wondering where my cast assessment is this season. Well, I wasn’t able to do one. Normally, my best source of information for something like that is the Survivor preview show that airs on the TV guide network. They didn’t do one this year (that I know of at least). There might be another network with a special, but I was unable to find one before the start of the show. Seeing the first episode will taint my opinions in a cast assessment and I would be unable to do one in a real way. Thus, you will not see one this season. But I hope to be back in future seasons with it. They are well read posts, unless Google is lying to me. They could be considering how they mentioned that nobody had read my first post on my new blog (the link is posted above) even though the blog mentioned having some people looking at it. As for cast assessments, I said the first time that I didn’t know if I’d ever do them again. So I don’t know if you’ll see something about them again or not.

I had written some of a post about a cast assessment, but since you won’t see that, I’ll just steal what was meant to be in that post in this paragraph. Other parts of the post aren’t worth sharing in my mind. When a Survivor season starts with three tribes, there tends to be a way each of those tribes fare. There’s the tribe that fails immediately, gets dissolved, but still manages to have players in the finale (such as Saboga, Matsing, and Luzon). While I did not predict that the brains tribe would lose a lot last season, I did think that it would be funny if they failed as a tribe. I was right. So I don’t know which of the three tribes from this season would fail, but I’m guessing that it would be the no collar tribe. The second tribe in a three tribe season tends to do well when there’s still three tribes, start failing at the dissolve to two tribes, and be the first ones completely eliminated after the merge (such as Mogo Mogo, Kalabaw, and Solana). It would be hard to predict which one of them would be that, but I’ll go with the white collar tribe. Then there’s one last type of tribe in three tribe seasons. That’s the dominate tribe that starts out well during the three tribe stage, stays doing well in the two tribe stage, and winds up with members in the finale (such as Chapera, Tandang, and Aparri). I think that the blue collar tribe will be that tribe. I do wonder if any of my predictions will be right. I do think that we’ll find the typical three tribes dynamic, as mentioned earlier, but I don’t know yet which tribe will do what. The blue collar tribe could fail with its expectations, much like how the brains tribe did poorly in Cagayan. But I am convinced before the season starts that the winner of this season will probably come from that tribe.

Anyways, I don’t know whether or not to get into what I think about specific contestants or not. I mean, I don’t have thoughts about all of them, just some. But with those few players, I might as well mention what my thoughts regarding them are. Nina is deaf, but not in the typically sense it seems. Many commentators on youtube were thinking that she’ll be out before the merge, which just seems a bit mean-spirited to me. Do I think that she’ll do well just because they think she’ll fail? Maybe. There was another contestant named So. She was one of the lost players from last season so it makes you wonder if someone dropped out of this season and allowed her to play. Meanwhile, I just hope that my computer doesn’t have the annoying grammar check every time I write the name So. At least I can ignore what they say, which I do a lot.

There’s not much else to say outside of what transpired in the episode. I’m glad for those of you who have read this whole post. I wouldn’t mind if you skip to the actual important part. I’m not even sure why I keep doing this. But this might be something that I’d try to stop doing but never actually succeed in stopping to do. I really hope that I have said all that I need to for this blog post, outside of the episode itself. I’ll try my best to keep the movie updates to a single paragraph that will be labeled in advance. I especially hope that I can roll Seventeen Again so I can replace it with and then roll the Survivor Borneo special which would probably mark the end or close to it of my movie watching list until I have another season to get caught up on. But unless an unfortunate death happens to a Survivor contestant or Blood versus Water gets released to DVD, I won’t have anything to worry about, for the moment at least. Of course, outside of the first two seasons, I wouldn’t have to worry about watching feature length specials about them before or after watching the season itself. Future ramblings shouldn’t be this long in the future and as soon as this paragraph ends, I’ll get to the actual point. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, we get the usual introduction of the contestants that we get at the very beginning. Since I didn’t do a cast assessment, I might mention some of what I think of different people as they are introduced. Dan is a cocky person, from what I can tell. I’m never sure how cocky players will do in the game. Typically they are out before the merge, but some people who are cocky are like Tony and win the season. Each tribe chooses a representative. Might this be the new twist we’ve heard about? Interestingly, only men are chosen as representatives. Each of them chooses another person to make a decision. I’m wondering if these pairs will form instant alliances. There’s a blog I read and the writer is convinced that pairs is how this game will work considering how that typically happens during three tribe seasons.

In the second segment of the show, the no collar tribe gets to their camp. The pair of leaders have to decide between honesty and deception. Honesty is a bigger bag of beans. Deception would have a smaller bag of bean, but a clue to the hidden immunity idol. Sierra doesn’t believe that her tribe leaders actually chose the bigger bag of beans, which they did. Why even tell them that there was a choice if they are just going to choose the wrong one? You’d just tell them that you only had a smaller bag of beans and there wasn’t much of a choice. The white collar pair chooses the deception choice while the other two tribes make the honesty choice. This is more than likely the new twist that I heard about. It’s a pretty good one, one I’m surprised hasn’t really appeared before.

In the third segment of the show, So comes up with her lie regarding the choice and made up a third option that could have happened. Shirin was not fooled by their lie. Now that So and Joaquin are in an obvious alliance to the other players in the game, the other players on their tribe consider forming an alliance against them. Mike is already becoming the crazy person in his tribe. He randomly ate a scorpion and got sick from it. I already don’t have much hope for his long term chances in the game. I haven’t picked a favorite to win yet. Jenn and Vince are probably going to have a showmance. Will it work out? They normally don’t work out, but we’ll see. Joe becomes a leader like person regarding building the shelter.

In the fourth segment of the show, there are arguments on the blue collar as to how to build the shelter.  They thought that Dan was too serious about it. Nobody seems to like him and he knows it. If you ask me, this pair twist may make them easy targets for the other four players. Vince is probably jealous of Jenn and thinks that she connects more with Joe than with him. Well, it looks like their showmance won’t work out after all. Carolyn looks for an idol even though she doesn’t have a clue for it. Wouldn’t you know it, she finds the idol.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. They show the yellow tribe winning the challenge so following my theory regarding that, I’ll probably think that they lose the challenge. If you don’t believe me, then rewatch Caramoan and see how other Gota was shown winning a challenge that they would end up losing. It doesn’t always happen like that, but you’d be surprised how often that is what happens. At the first stage, everyone starts out using keys but then everyone then switches to untying the knots. I always hate the challenges where only one person can help at a stage. The blue collar tribe loses a lot of time at this stage and the other two tribes get a huge lead. Only one of the three puzzles has to be solved. In the end, the no collar tribe is the first tribe to win the challenge and a race for second place starts happening next. At least people can switch at the challenge even though only one can compete at the time. The blue collar tribe pulls a come from behind second place finish. The white collar tribe failed at the puzzle and thus attends the first tribal council. Shirin is the one who failed at the puzzle and thinks that she’ll be voted out. But is that what will happen? Carolyn’s idol could come into play here.

In the sixth segment of the show, a great nature shot of a bunch of birds eating the corpse of a dead deer or deer-like creature. What a great shot! Is that supposed to represent Shirin? Maybe. But we’ll see how this all unfolds. Carolyn senses that she’s the target. She tells Tyler about her hidden immunity idol. With everyone in the game having a confessional, then I have no way of telling who will get voted out. Will the tables turn on So? Will Carolyn play her idol? There’s a lot of drama at tribal council which is hard to summarize. In the end, Carolyn does not play her hidden immunity idol. She must be convinced that she’s not actually the target. In the end, So is voted out. I’d be so nervous if I had an idol that I’d sooner waste it than risk getting voted out with it in my possession. Ultimately, Carolyn made the right choice.

On the next Survivor, the white collar tribe gets a bit risqué and Nina fights with her tribe. Maybe the commentators were right about her. But we’ll see what ends up happening. I just hope that she isn’t voted out just because of her deafness.

Total confessionals: Kelly- 1, Carolyn- 4, Will- 2, Joaquin- 3, Sierra- 1, Vince- 3, Joe- 2, Jenn- 4, Lindsey- 2, Max- 3, Dan- 4, Hali- 2, Tyler- 3, Mike- 2, So- 5, Rodney- 2, Shirin- 2, Nina- 1.

The elimination of So means that Jenn, Dan, and Carolyn have the highest confessional count in the game. As usual, I may have messed up the numbers. At least I do the best that I can. Anyways, the people currently at the bottom of the confessional count are Kelly, Sierra, and Nina. Things, of course, can and will change early into the season. Remember that my blog will be updated on Thursdays until holy week due to Lent. But I should be here every week as normal. Also, be sure to read my random blog posts that I added between the end of last season and the start of this one. I’ll probably always have random blog posts, unless I’m blogging about a previous or current Survivor season. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
