Episode 25.10

I still don't know if there really will be a Survivor 27 or 28 or not. They are casting for the season. They can't be casting for the 26th season, that's already been filmed. Of course, just because they're casting doesn't mean that they are really doing it. Wherever they are going, I know that they will be using the same location twice. I hope that Jeff is back to host. He probably will be, but I don't know for sure. Rumors say that Jeff will be back to host. I wouldn't audition to be a contestant (yet) but if you are, I hope that you are a good contestant. Hopefully, they wouldn't use returning contestants yet again. That is getting kind of old and boring. Although, suggestions I have that I wish they would try: every contestant who was the last voted out in their season, or others who were medically evacuated that haven't gotten another chance. There are seven (eight?) others that could be good returning players for future seasons. I've already blogged about who else was medically evacuated and would be good returning players. I also hope that they would return, although some would be very unlikely to ever return. Also, did anyone know that Jonathan had acting jobs outside of Survivor? That's pretty cool. He's doing better than Jerri from Australia. To my knowledge, she has never had an acting job outside of Survivor. And that's if you consider a reality star an actual actor. In a way they are. All reality shows are just actors who are bad at improvisation unless the editing works well. Normally, editing gets rid of the boring parts. But it must be hard to put three days worth of material into an hour plus commercials without losing anything important to the viewers of the show. Also, here's a random fact about the international seasons I keep bringing up: so many of them have been filmed in the Philippines. Even the Philippine version has filmed a season here. Just thought that I'd let you know that since I keep bring up international seasons so much.

Also, to Lisa, I give you my best. I heard that you have West Nile Virus. I don't know if that's normally a fatal condition or not, but since you got it in America, you have a better chance of surviving then others would. Did you get it on the island? Why are you just now showing symptoms many months later? Have you had in longer than the internet says you have? I hope that you are better in time for the reunion show. To my knowledge, they've never had a contestant unable to attend one of those before. I'm not sure if any refused to attend. They get paid to do the reunion shows so even if they get glozed over during that hour; at least they get some money out of it as well as an appearance. I can think of only one person who has walked out during a reunion show, and I would have to if I were getting booed like they were. Of course, they had the decency to wait until the show went to commercial. That happened during the All-Stars reunion, in case you don't remember. If a contestant were ever unable to attend a reunion show, not only would they not get paid for the appearance, it would cause something to be lost. Hopefully, they wouldn't be someone at the final tribal council like a jury member, or worse: someone in the final two or three. There'd have to be a serious reason for them not to go such as problems in their personal life, sickness, or the rare case that they died before the reunion show could be filmed but after the rest of the season was filmed. What would be strange is if a contestant died while playing the game and they kept it going. There would definitely be something missing from the reunion show.

Hopefully, they would do a best of this person's time on the game montage or special full of never before seen footage. I'm still surprised that they haven't aired one of those for Jennifer Lyon. I'm guessing that they haven't yet because they would have no idea when a special like that would air, if anyone would be interested in it, or if footage of her that never aired that could point out more of contributions to that season would even still exist. Since she was on the majority tribe the whole time, it would be hard to say that she could have done much. But there's always a lot that goes on in each season that nobody knows about. Also, if I ever were a Survivor contestant, I'd probably only be doing it to advance my fame in the world. Hopefully I don't wind up like what's his name from Australia who wanted to be a script writer, but who I haven't heard of since that season. If you know who I'm talking about, please let me know. I hope that he has, actually, made his way in the screenwriting world. He could have and I have no idea that he has. But chances are that he could always return for a future season at least. Besides, some players fame after Survivor is completely a matter of luck. Who thought that someone from this show would go on to co-host The View? I don't watch the show that much. I've heard that the producers from Survivor have wanted her to do future seasons but never asked her because she would turn them down anyways. And I think that all of The View fans would notice this strange absence. I'm referring to Elizabeth, the fourth placing contestant in Australia. Her name might be spelled differently, I don't know. I liked her on that season, but I'm not so sure that I like her now. But I might be a fan of hers if she ever played Survivor again. I just hope that they find a good replacement while she's on leave, if she ever returns.

Does anyone know who might have disappeared when Survivor 26 was filmed? I know that anyone who was a former contestant and outside of the public eye during that time would probably be filming the season. Besides, I don't know if it really is an all stars or even partial all stars season. By the way, Entertainment Weekly knows that seasons are being filmed when regular correspondents to them disappear mysteriously. Where else would they be? I don't know if this is a blog for the recap episode full of previously unseen footage which I may or may not watch given the free time I have over break. This could be a blog for the next official new episode. I'm glad that they air recap specials over the Thanksgiving week. They used to air a brand new episode on Thanksgiving itself that people would find hard to watch because they are busy with typical family gatherings. I'm thankful that they've stopped doing that and realized how stupid it was. Did anyone even watch it? The poor fans had to choose between missing an important episode and information in the game or spending time with their family and one normally should. There was even a season that was still airing during late December, but that was due to delays in coverage of the season that would have aired normally were it not for 9/11. I'm still surprised that I saw and remember so much of that season. Hopefully nothing as bad as 9/11 ever happens again. I like to watch shows that aren't delayed because of serious and unexpected media events. Like when they interrupted an episode of CSI: Miami to tell us that Bin Laden had died. I wanted to watch the show, not coverage of this death. I didn't care that he was dead and I had to wait until the episode rebroadcast on Saturday. It was a pretty lame episode to. So I had to watch it a second time. Honestly, if I were there in Ford's Theatre on the day of the Lincoln assassination, I would have been annoyed that I wouldn't get to see the end of the play but I wouldn't care that the president was dead. Or at least I wouldn't care now because I knew that it was coming. They teach you that in history class. That's one of the many reasons that I don't want a president to be assassinated. There's been an attempt on every president's life since Nixon took office. Few of them were ever that serious. You used to be able to walk up to a president and kill them with a gun at point blank range. That happened three times! But we should all be glad that no attempt has worked since Kennedy was killed. I'd hate to see the nonstop coverage of a death of an incumbent president. Who knows how long the coverage of my favorite shows would be delayed. So, please don't kill the president. Besides, do people hate Obama that much? I hope that they don't. And really, if you want to kill Obama, keep in mind that you'd be making Joe Biden president. And as much as I like Joe, I really don't think that it would be a good idea, him being president.

And now here's something else that I wonder: how many of the Survivor contestants have travel nightmares? They must have problems getting from America to wherever to return here to go back to America to do the reunion show and whatever else they do. I don't know who pays for the flights and makes sure that everything runs smoothly. I don't know if any of the people who read this blog are into the show The Amazing Race, but that seems to be nothing but travel nightmares. Where would that show be without the problems to contestants constantly have travelling from one place to another? I think that's what causes the show to be so interesting, especially when the nightmare is a cliffhanger ending to be resolved in the next episode. We should be glad that no incredibly serious travel nightmares have happened on The Amazing Race. If there were a plane crash, for instance, that had contestants on it, they'd probably have to cancel the race, even if they aren't killed in the crash. Most plane crashes do lead to the death of everyone on the plane, but not all and not all the time. We should be glad that has never happened. Honestly, when you think about it, plane crashes are much rarer than the average person would probably think. I don't know what any official statistic is, but I've heard that some years has had no plane crashes at all and that it is much more likely you will die in a car crash than you will in a plane crash. In fact, you probably have a 100% chance that a car crash will be more deadly than a plane crash.

I'm still curious as to what twists the 26th season will hold. Will it include twists from the Philippine version of Survivor? I'm surprised that this season hasn't used any twists from that series, but it was already different enough already. I hope that they use the cursed pearls next season. There are a lot of other twists that would be great that the other series has used. In case you didn't know, no foreign season of Survivor can air in America even if it is in English because of some sort of lawsuit in effect. Non-American television gets to view our seasons but we can't view theirs. I've read about some foreign seasons of Survivor and they have much different ways of doing the show than we do. Some people in America would think that they ruin our good format. Some would say that they improve on our format or do what we would never dare. You can read on wikipedia some of the different ways different countries have played the game. Team X and Jokers could be interesting twists in our game, but like I said, it is unlikely that we are that drastic with our twists. I don't fully understand what Team X is anyways. We have the basic format that people don't like to mess with. We should consider ourselves lucky that we ever got to try Redemption Island, seen in international seasons long before we tried it here. I still think it would be cool if there were elimination challenges not held at tribal council as a tiebreaker. It would seem unlikely that they do that, unless they brought back Redemption Island. You can go and find out more information about all the different twists the Philippine version of Survivor has done if you want to. From what I've read about their series, it is very different than ours. But enough of my ramblings.

Turns out that it wasn't a recap episode. It was a brand new episode. I recorded it and will now give you my thoughts on the episode. Sorry that this is late. I actually haven't posted the last episode yet anyways. But I will have by the time you'll be reading this. So I don't know why I'm saying this. Today is November 22, 2012 and the episode is about to be watched by me for the first time. Since advent will be starting soon, this blog will become different, I think. I will have to record the episode and watch it later. I hope that I don't miss anything important. There was one season where it was next to impossible to record the episode and I wasn't able to see it during that time. But I was able to see the bulk of what happened in the end. After the recap aired, the tribe went back to camp. Poor Artis was voted out of the game. Not much interesting happened there.

In the next segment of the show, Lisa and Abby were talking about what had happened. Lisa feels comfortable being used in the game. At the reward challenge, the challenge was to keep symbols picked up instead of down. The reward that they would get is a spa on a different island. Penner, Denise, Skupin, and Lisa were on yellow; Abby, Pete, Malcolm, and Carter were on the red team. Because people messed up the challenge, the red team won. As long as there were good match ups to show on television, that's good.

In the next segment of the show, the reward was given to the winning team. Carter, I don't know who you are or how you made it this far. I wish that you were given more airtime so that I knew who you were exactly. But there were some people who got far and I had no idea who they are. Abby talks to everyone about how great the reward was. She's really mean to the other contestants and probably doesn't even know it. Poor other contestants having to put up with Abby. And poor Abby not realizing how dumb she is sometimes. I still don't know what the three dumbest moves are this season, but she's probably the winner of something. She does have the idol. I don't even know if she'd be smart enough to play it. Besides, would she even know if she were on the block? They need to get rid of Jonathan, since he could actually win the game.

In the next segment, people were talking about the possible final four. Jonathan doesn't want to make a deal with Michael and Lisa. I don't know why he would do that since he would probably be on the chopping block. Michael, Lisa, Denise, and Malcolm made a final four deal. I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks that they film the dream team doing the challenges when they show the blurbs of the challenge to the viewers? That makes sense. At the immunity challenge, Pete, Abby, and Lisa were eliminated in the first round. The second round had them on a balance beam that they couldn't fall off of when they were doing the main part of the challenge. Carter, Denise, and Michael were the people who made it to the final round. I don't know who will win. But Carter was the person that ended up with immunity. Carter sure is lucky.

In the next segment, the politics at camp before the tribal council came up. Abby is the person that they want out and Pete is the person that they will probably have to get out. But Abby could always give her idol to someone if she felt that they were the more serious threat to be voted out. Pete wanted Malcolm out since Malcolm has an idol. It's possible that both idols could be played. Jonathan did think that nobody trusted him, but he trusted others. So I have no idea what will happen, except that my sister says I will love the tribal council. Why doesn't that have a twitter hashtag? It should. Maybe it will next season. I don't think that Malcolm will have to use his idol, but I hope that he does if he needs it. Since the jury part of the game had already started happening, the players would need to consider how it would affect their game. Abby likes a member of the jury, but we don't know if she can do that well in the game. Abby is sad based on the words said at tribal council. She isn't the first person who wasn't a native born American to play this game. She doesn't understand American culture. Poor Abby isn't doing that well. But I guess that she needed this to be told. Abby played the idol so it will probably be Pete who gets eliminated. If he didn't play the idol and got voted out, he would be stupid. But it was Pete that got voted out. Abby no longer has her idol.

What will happen next time? The game gets horrible and changes and Abby doesn't do that well. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
