Episode 41.6

I’ve been thinking a lot about the Shan music or song thing that both her and the people on Survivor do and I’m wondering if it is something that she made up or is based on an existing tune. I think that I had shared at least one thing that it could have been earlier in this season’s blog’s post. I plan to find two of them (if I can) and put them in future blog posts.

Now it is time to get to one time challenges from the sixth season. It is hard to remember all of these one off challenges which is why I applaud the editors of Survivor fandom for putting all of this info on the show on that site. I used to edit it myself until you needed an account to do that. I do not ever plan to get a fandom account as I waste enough time on that site without one.

Total Recall (immunity challenge from Storms): In this challenge, we get a typical memory challenge with a quiz added to it as well. Contestants had to memorize what an Amazon house looked like and then answer questions about it. The challenge could be done while social distancing.

Gone Fishin (immunity challenge from Trapped): In this challenge, the tribes had to catch as much fish as possible in an hour. The winning tribe could keep their fish, although Jeff made it seem like the losing tribe would as well. It is possible that this could be done while social distancing. I wouldn’t think that they would do it again since it is very boring with not much to it.

Up the Creek (immunity challenge from Pick-up Sticks): In this challenge, contestants had to find some animals in a word search and then find flags of the right animals that are around a small island that they have to paddle to. An individual version of this could possibly be done while social distancing.

Mud Bungee (reward challenge from Sleeping with the Enemy): In this challenge, contestants had to get colored flags from a mud pit while attached to a bungee cord. It is possible that an individual challenge of this could be done while social distancing. I remember liking this challenge.

Paddle (reward challenge from Sour Grapes): In this challenge, contestants had to dig up a paddle then take a boat to a crate and solve a trivia question. If they get it wrong, the puzzle will be black. If they get it right or after getting it wrong, they have to solve that puzzle to win the challenge. It is possible that they could design this to be done while social distancing.

Will Power (final immunity challenge from And Then There Were Four): In this challenge, contestants have to take a headdress that they built for themselves that then becomes attached by beads to a collar around their neck and hold it above their heads on a plank for as long as possible. This could be done while social distancing and should be done again.

There isn’t too much else to say as I wonder if anyone with an extra vote could still use that if they wound up deciding to use their shot in the dark die. You’d think that they would be able to, but I have no idea if they would or wouldn’t. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Ua returns to camp after their tribal council. Shan thinks that it was either Genie or Ricard. She thinks that Ricard grounds him in the game. But he is still untrustworthy of her since there is too much going on with the extra vote that he still has. Shan does want the advantage back, but he doesn’t seem to want to hand it over. Things are too complicated. He does give back the advantage which maybe he had to? She promises that he’ll get the next advantage of theirs.

It sounds like a merge is coming when the yellow tribe gets treemail, although they seem to ignore the additional part of it also mentioned. Also, does Xander seem kind of like Alec and Drew from San Juan del Sur? The blue tribe is uncertain of what’s going on.

Jeff tells us that this is a two part episode since there will not be a tribal council tonight in the two part episode going on right now. There are a lot of twists going into this challenge as people have to earn their way into the merge beyond what is going on right now. There will be two teams for a challenge and it seems like one is safe, maybe? Two of the players will have their fate decided by the winning team. And someone will get power. We get to a rock draw right before the show goes to commercial. What will happen?

In the second segment of the show, shows the reveal of who has blue, yellow, or grey. Naseer and Erika are the two sit outs in the challenge. Evvie is referred to by mistake as Eevee. Eevee is a Pokémon. Despite not having the same members, the blue tribe continues to do well. They win the challenge and are all immune at the first merged tribal council. Naseer is picked to join them while Erika will now then be exiled in a way from the others for two days.

In the third segment of the show, the winning team has Danny revealing that he picked Naseer to be safe since so many men were being voted out and they wanted a woman to be in danger instead. Danny wants Erika to be voted out first. Erika is uncertain of if she will last.

Xander talks about being in mergeatory. I like that name. Liana reveals what her power is to Shan and Tiffany is also there. Liana also tells Tiffany what is going on as well. Liana thinks that Tiffany is now a huge threat. Tiffany, likewise, doesn’t think highly of Liana anymore.

In the fourth segment of the show, the winners return to see the others and now all of them sans Erika are now together as a tribe? Xander points out that he’s not on a merge tribe yet and neither are the rest of the people who lost. He also points out that he’s the only man who can be voted out right now. Is there really a men versus women thing going on? Shan is worried that Erika is going to come back with an advantage. The racially diverse cast wants to work together with all of the black people joining each other in an alliance.

In the fifth segment of the show, Erika is surprised to learn that Jeff is showing up and she wonders what is going on and why he is here. She is given an hourglass that could decide that the losers of the previous challenge would win instead and get immunity with her joining them or if she wants to leave the game intact. She considers against doing this since her old tribe is safe. She could burn bridges with them. But they did hang her out to dry. What will happen? We don’t know as the episode ends here. Will she smash the hourglass?

On the next Survivor, we don’t know her decision, but she did have to reveal it to the others right before the challenge at hand. I think that it is better that she doesn’t do this even if the other tribe was mean to her first. But she also could be a target and won’t have immunity otherwise. What do you think will end up happening in the end? I think that she will let things be. But would that be the right choice?

Total confessional count: Xander- 9, Evvie- 12, Danny- 12, Naseer- 8, Deshawn- 9, Tiffany- 13, Sydney- 8, Shan- 15, Liana- 9, Heather- 1, Erika- 6, Ricard- 12.

New confessionals this episode: Ricard- 2, Xander- 2, Evvie- 2, Danny- 2, Naseer- 1, Deshawn- 2, Tiffany- 1, Sydney- 1, Shan- 3, Liana- 2, Heather- 0, Erika- 3.

Going into the merge, Heather still has a pathetic showing in the total confessional count and everyone who gets more than one confessional in an episode is doing better than she is in all of them combined. Why would her edit be so bad so far? Even Kelly Wiglesworth in Cambodia had more confessionals at this point, and she only had four by the end of her game. Shan has the highest confessional count with fifteen and now all of them over nine confessionals besides her as Evvie, Ricard, Danny, and Tiffany. While I do like Tiffany’s personality, I don’t see her winning or even making the end. We have quite the cliffhanger going into the next episode. What will happen? We’ll have to wait and see. There are a lot of unknowns. And, I’m pregnant. To be continued…
