The Modern Flashy Tribal Councils

I thought that my last random post before the new season of Survivor started would be different, but I’ll get to why I won’t be writing that in the next blog post on the new Survivor season. This, will instead, be my last post before the next season starts. There’s a lot more that I could have written, but it turns out that I had more time to write about old seasons towards the end anyways.

Now let’s get to what this post is about. It seems like while a lot of earlier Survivor seasons have been not as interesting with some of their tribal councils and things starting to change and become more and more interesting with the introduction of hidden immunity idols and then other advantages, there is a lot that can be said about the modern tribal council and it sure is flashy.

There are pros and cons about this. Let’s get the good stuff out of the way first. It can seem good that we can get entertaining tribal councils the likes of which we could only dream about at the start of the existence of Survivor. If you put nearly any tribal council of today with the very first one, you will almost always find the first one to just be boring and dull compared to what you get today.

Of course, there can be more issues with the flashy tribal councils of today, the cons. There are so many advantages in addition to lots of idols and other issues like it that they are always too focused on what will make a good tribal council or, at least, a flashy one. Contestants failing to keep secrets can be quite a huge issue which makes tribal council sometimes two whole segments when we used to never get a whole segment dedicated to this. And they make it so that this is more like every tribal council and there can’t be any obvious vote outs without some drama being included.

I can’t think of much else to say. I will be ending this post here with a lot to look forward to in the future. I can only hope that we get to a good season ahead of us in the future. I do know why it seems likely that there will be a gap of a week off in the future. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
