Episode 43.2

News that I found a bit surprising going into this season of TV relates to the show The Flash. Maybe I should not be too thrown off by this, but apparently that show will be airing its final season sometime this season. Why is that relevant to this blog? Well, I may give it priority against this show that no other show has ever had that aired against Survivor. I may watch it live instead of Survivor if the two shows wind up being on at the same time. I like giving final season shows priority at times and may wind up watching this show later and delaying the blog posts to later than Wednesday as a result.

Let’s get to the one time challenges from the twenty-eighth season. I am trying to get ahead of this part of the blog by writing it well in advance of the episode airing. I don’t want it to be like when I wanted to keep track of the seasons of Pearl Islands and Panama, found out that they had too many challenges that only appeared once, and not being able to get the post done on Wednesday like I should. Thus, I will not include thoughts on the challenges as I haven’t even researched them yet. It turns out that there was only one challenge this season that was only used once. This hasn’t happened since All-Stars.

Supertramp (reward challenge from Bag of Tricks): In this challenge, a member of each team must hook a rope to a box of sandbags to drop them, toss the sandbags to another then into a net tube, get the sandbags through the tubes, and then get them in five baskets. An individual version of this or one that does only parts of this could be done while social distancing.

Going back to the football teams and how they are ranked, I was breaking the tier two tie between the Buccaneers, Jaguars, and Texans. The Dolphins rank lowest among them. The Buccaneers lost to the Jaguars the second time and beat the Texans the second time. The Jaguars beat the Texans the second time and beat the Buccaneers the second time. The Texans lost to the Buccaneers the second time and lost to the Jaguars the second time. This makes the tier two rankings Jaguars 10, Buccaneers 11, Texans 12, and Dolphins 13.

Now there was some weirdness going on today. I took a way long nap and never got this written to the point that I would like before the episode started. But that’s okay since I did get it all done in time. I am hoping that things will get better. I was really tired and needed that sleep. We’ll see if I take off a day of work to deal with it. I’m hoping that I can do my planned weekend trip this time as sickness has at times prevented this. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, the yellow tribe returns from tribal council. Owen talks about getting votes. There is a terrible storm. This negatively affects Gabler who gets sick. People want to vote him out next. Meanwhile, the red tribe does things. Some want to target Cody. Lots of things happen on the red tribe. Some think that Justine is too weird.

In the second segment of the show, the blue tribe has its moments. Geo had a lot of problems because he was gay. His family abandoned him, leaving him homeless. He and Ryan have a budding friendship. They seem to be looking for food. Cody gets to know Noelle more. He talks about his friend who died of cancer. Owen gets water while talking about the rest of the tribe. Jeanine looks for an idol, but appears to have missed a note of some sort. She is working with Elie right now. Sami on the yellow tribe wants to do a man’s alliance even though he is against all one gender alliances. But his side has the numbers.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. But isn’t this a 90 episode? The yellow tribe comes in first. The blue tribe comes in second. The red tribe struggled too much throughout the challenge, missing at least one piece of the puzzle. Noelle wishes she could have competed in the challenge. She thinks that since Nneka struggled the most during it, she should be voted out.

In the fourth segment of the show, the red tribe talks about their loss. People want to vote out Nneka. They think that she is the best vote off choice. Nneka realizes that she is the target. Back on the yellow tribe, Jeanine talks about them winning fishing gear. People told Elie that she was dumb. She has ADHD. Is that a first? I don’t think that we have had that on the show before. She wants to teach Gabler how to use a Hawaiian swing.

The tribe wants to see what Gabler’s advantage is as they aren’t sure if his idol expires. They learn that it is after his next tribal council and not after just two tribal councils. The red tribe continues to talk and some of them bring up other names. Justine may not be trustworthy to others. Dwight cannot vote. Cody looks for an idol and can’t tell that something of some sort or another is important somehow. He does find a beware advantage. He takes it and now has to willing get all of the beads from all of the other players willing in order for his idol to have power and him to have a vote. Why would he do this? He could do this after tribal council. All of the personal bags have this.

In the fifth segment of the show, Cody gets some of the beads, but it doesn’t show if he has all of them yet or not. I wonder, is this going to happen on every tribe? What if someone on a tribe is voted out? He does manage to convince people that he needs it for a hat. Stick a bead in a hat and call it a ploy.

In the sixth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. But does Cody have a vote or not? I am lead to believe that he does not. Cody is wearing his hat and tells people that he is talking about mistakes. He is told to make a hat for Justine. She thinks that tonight’s going to be her last night. I guess unlike what they say in that one song, tonight’s not the night. But at least we don’t have to step on a bottle. Dwight tells people that he didn’t lose his vote. Jeff is constantly asked why people tell everyone everything. He says that it relates to gaining or trying to gain trust. Nneka talks some and says that an advantage could tie their hand. Cody is asked how this makes people feel about things like this. They have to set their emotions aside and play the game. The votes are cast and we go to commercial.

In the seventh segment of the show, it is revealed that Cody did get all of the beads and could vote at tribal council. Justine is the person who was voted out. But it wasn’t a two to two split. And someone had voted for Cody.

On the next Survivor, Gabler learns of people looking through his bag. Other things are going on as well. Something of some sort or another happened with Cody, I think. Something causes a person to run. I do not know what all is going on as it is easy to miss things in the promo.

Total confessional count: Jeanine- 2, Cody- 8, Justine- 2, Geo- 3, Lindsay- 3, Cassidy- 1, Karla- 4, Nneka- 3, Gabler- 7, James- 3, Owen- 8, Noelle- 3, Sami- 4, Jesse- 4, Ryan- 2, Dwight- 5, Elie- 7.

I will say that as usual when it comes to the beginning of new seasons, I have no idea just who all that I missed in the confessional count (obviously), but know that I missed some for sure. I don’t have time today to get the next month’s planned blog post schedule up so hopefully that will happen in the next post. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
