Episode 43.4

I might at some point want to find the mission link to what Nneka was doing, if I can find it. Since she won’t be able to talk at the reunion show because there won’t be a reunion show because they now do a live after show that doesn’t include the premerge boots because fuck them, I’ll have to see if she talks about it on Rob Has a Podcast or somewhere else. I’m sure it would be on fandom if people bothered to update the page on either the third episode of this season or her own page.

Let’s get to the one time challenges from the thirtieth season. There weren’t that many things that I can point out only that even in one time challenges, puzzles are always a feature and used a lot. And we would see part of one of them later, even though it wasn’t used again.

Ladder Daze (opening challenge from It’s Survivor Warfare): In this challenge, players would have to get to a crate after an obstacle and use one of two methods to get a ladder. They would then have to use this ladder to get up, across, and down a platform before going through more obstacles. They then must choose one of three puzzles to solve. The first tribe to solve their puzzle wins. I think that if this were done individually, it could be done while social distancing.

Anchorman (reward challenge from Keep it Real): In this challenge, the castaways must cross a balance beam while collecting puzzle pieces, get a bag off the beam, get another bag, and then complete the anchor puzzle if they make the final round.

Hip to be Square (immunity challenge from Keep it Real): In this challenge, contestants basically just have to move a puzzle piece through different slide puzzle mazes before using that piece to complete a different slide puzzle. It could easily be done while social distancing. The name of the challenge is from a song by Huey Lewis and the News.

Soul to Squeeze (immunity challenge from Bring the Popcorn): In this challenge, contestants must use tongs to get a ball across teeter-totters. They have to do this six times for all six balls. I believe that this could be done while social distancing. This challenge is named after a Red Hot Chili Peppers song.

The next song to share from The Nightmare Before Christmas is Jack’s Lament. It is the last in this set of Halloween songs for now. I will be covering a lot of the Christmas songs from it later and then get back to their other Halloween songs later.

I am glad that I did some research into these challenges because while learning about the challenges, I learned about the song Man in the Box song by Alice in Chains. While I already knew about this song that could have also been called generic rock song, I had no idea what the name is. It Smells Like Teen Spirit. Sorry. That’s the name of another generic rock song you know without knowing you know you know it, you know?

I’m also unsure how I feel about the song Long Road to Ruin. It seems more upbeat than it should. But I might look at the lyrics of it sometime to see if it fits the theme of either doom and gloom or good riddance that I often like to use when certain politicians leave office (latter) or take office (former)

And I’m skipping telling you about the football rankings again just to finish this post. I’ve got a long weekend ahead of me and four posts to write, complete, and, in three cases, schedule to update. At least I can hopefully get it all done soon. But enough of my ramblings.

In the first segment of the show, Cody talks about being left out of the vote. Meanwhile, on the yellow tribe, Gabler is getting on people’s nerves and that includes his own alliance. We quickly get to the next reward challenge. The winning tribe gets to take one item from one of the other tribes. The red tribe wins for once. They were tired of losing, as Amber famously said in the second season. They decide to trade the reward of this episode and challenge for one of another past reward. We don’t yet know who will be going and which tribe will be raided.

In the second segment of the show, the red tribe talks about who will raid, which tribe to raid, and what they will take. Both the yellow and blue tribes are unsure who will be the victim of the raiding. The yellow tribe things that they have more to steal from and should be stolen from. Cody goes to the blue tribe since they have more numbers. He said that he wants their machete, but this is a ruse in order to see what they will barter for, being able to manipulate them. He takes food from then and their fishing gear as well. And here I was thinking that they could only take one thing. I guess that since production didn’t stop this, it was allowed.

In the third segment of the show, we get to the immunity challenge. The red tribe comes in first and then helps the yellow tribe comes in second. It’s kind of like Settlers of Katan. Regardless of if you can win or not, you can help whoever else you want to. I’ve done that if I knew I couldn’t win by helping another person win, particularly if I’m hurting whoever prevented me from making progress in the game. Lindsay on the blue tribe is upset by this. She is looking ahead now to revenge.

In the fourth segment of the show, a lot of stuff happens in the lead up to tribal council and I miss a whole lot of it since I was busy getting food ready for supper that I had not started yet and I couldn’t pay attention to the show that well even as it was on in the background.

In the fifth segment of the show, we get to tribal council. James said that he provides for the tribe, but he does exaggerate his abilities some. When today happened, everyone broke out into groups with some breaking off and talking more some than others. Geo seems to want to play Sandra’s famous as long as it ain’t me strategy to his advantage. Lindsay thinks that she was fact checking her conversations too much. Geo wants to keep his people calm. But things can get messy no matter what. People kept talking about the vote even as the sunsets and they didn’t get to finish. But they didn’t have to go to tribal council right away, did they? That’s not what happened during the Palau finale, after all. Maybe they changed that so it wouldn’t happen again. Anyways, Lindsay is voted out.

On the next Survivor, there is another summit, Owen seems to have a powerful advantage, and I can’t quite make sense of everything due to how they edit these promos now. Why do they do that? I don’t quite get it.

Total confessional count: Gabler- 9, James- 6, Owen- 10, Noelle- 6, Sami- 6, Jesse- 8, Ryan- 2, Dwight- 9, Elie- 8, Jeanine- 2, Cody- 13, Geo- 4, Lindsay- 5, Cassidy- 3, Karla- 7.

New confessionals this episode: Jeanine- 0, Cody- 3, Geo- 1, Lindsay- 2, Cassidy- 1, Karla- 1, Gabler- 1, James- 2, Owen- 0, Noelle- 1, Sami- 1, Jesse- 2, Ryan- 0, Dwight- 1, Elie- 1.

Before I end this post, you may have noticed that it has been a while since I’ve mentioned anything about the confessional count other than simply saying what the numbers are. I’ve decided that I no longer care or will again do things like that as it seems like a waste of time and was mean to contestants even. You can check the numbers against each other and do your own guess as to why they are this way versus another way. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
