Survivor: Gabon episode 11: I was put on the Planet for this Show

Something that is worth noting about this episode is that this is a recap episode. You don’t see these on the show anymore and some have probably questioned whether or not they ever belonged as part of the show. The last season it appeared in was South Pacific. Often, it was good to have them air around the time of Thanksgiving so we wouldn’t have to worry about missing an entirely new episode. This is why the spring seasons don’t have these as much if at all. They instead decide to air one around that time or on that day itself and cause irritation to some as a result.

Let’s get to the idols from Island of the Idols part 2. This part is only going to include the successfully gotten idols from the island in the order they first appeared. Kellee won the idol that was good for three more tribal councils and she gave it to Dean the last time it could be played which was a successful play on Dean’s behalf, confusing many as to why he didn’t use this sooner.

In this old episode of The Good Wife, I talk about different things. I mention the CSI franchise. They were at one point wanting to do a 20th anniversary special of it at some point, but due to all the shutdowns in production of everything, I don’t know if that can still happen or not. I also talk about something I do called an annual Christmas boycott where I don’t buy a product from whatever company airs the first Christmas commercial of the year until the new year. This is due to Christmas creep. It was normally always K-Mart, but has also been Best Buy and could be other places as well. I also mention in this post that a dead person was rejecting help. But how could they ask for help in the first place?

I’ve decided that I will randomly stop sharing posts from that blog in this season’s blog posts, but I do plan to share more of them in the future at some point in time. I will explain more why in the next post. I will only share Madam Secretary blog posts for the rest of these Gabon posts. What is worth noting is that depending on what movies I watch, I might add more of these old posts after all.

It is worth noting that I’m working on a lot of posts for this blog at once on just this one season. And I will be adding a new season to its own new list with the next five choices at some point soon. I will let you know what season and when you will see this post with more information about it later revealed in the near future. I might also have to include a calendar of when you’ll see certain blog posts each month if there is a main blog post to share it in. I will be sharing some other blogs with the day of the week that I’ll be using for this blog thanks to the rule that I have where I can’t update more than one blog on one specific day and due to needing to post a lot of other blogs as well. I won’t even know or remember offhand what all I’m writing for what post without just reading it again.

You should note that Survivor China posts should be coming soon. They will be here on Fridays. But they will not be here on every Friday as I have to share that with other blogs as I don’t publish posts for more than one blog on the same day. Sharing is good. You will note in the last post when such an event would occur based on which time is free. Also note that I will have to wait until I’m done with Community in the near future (hopefully) which can only happen when I’m done with something else first. I am almost done with watching Dollhouse and Community as well. I will then start a new list like I have done at one point before and can only hope will last long enough.

I realize that I should mention the Thursday shows that I watch. I was watching Broke until it ended. I would watch Blindspot live, but the network isn’t coming in so I watch it later online. The same could be said of Council of Dads if I cared enough to keep up with it at all. (It will end after just one season so I will just cut my losses and not tune into it a second time.) I watch Don’t on ABC even though I am pretty sure that the promos were telling people not to watch it. I largely keep up with Burden of Truth and also watch To Tell the Truth.

There should be a quick note on the confessional count going into this episode. That note basically will say that I’m not sure what confessionals might be counted again that were already counted before so I will just count anything potentially new again in this post since there isn’t much else to say about it in the end and hope for the best outside of that. As you can tell, all the eliminated players are counted here again since to ignore them would be doing a disservice in my mind, especially to Dan.

Movie update: On Wednesday, I watched The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I replaced that with The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. On Saturday, I watched Rush Hour. I replaced that with Rush Hour 2. On Sunday, I had lunch out and thus didn’t watch a movie with a meal that Sunday. On Wednesday, I watched I am Sam. I replaced that with Ice Age.

On Friday, July 3, 2020, I rolled the next episode of Survivor to watch so I watched it. This created an issue with different blogs except for this one. For a while now, I had put The Good Wife blog posts on the first Friday of the month. Sometimes I’d have to post one on the second Friday of the month as well should the first Madam Secretary blog post of the month not be up yet. Thus, I had to yield it to my TV blog and delay The Good Wife blog until a random time which wouldn’t have caused this second update that it normally would have. Since I had just published a regular TV blog post the day before, I was not to the point where it was a low enough count since only one of the usual two readers had gotten to reading it at that point. Now I was able to update this blog, but might have to update my TV blog as well with this blog having a low number. That problem might go away soon for reasons I’ll get to later.

We begin with Jeff introducing various aspects of the game thus far. He talks about all of the people in the final seven. Fang made bad choices during the tribe pick ‘em and lost ten out of fourteen challenges. Only Corrine made it as far as she did out of the alliance that included herself, Marcus, Jacquie, and Charlie. I’m not even sure if that alliance was focused on that much throughout the game.

We see aspects of tons of the contestants’ audience videos. We don’t see them all and I don’t know if that is because some of them were recruited or not. Matty is the one who quoted the title of this one episode. The Fang tribe eats something they call Gabon pears. Randy found a leech and Matty goes to this place as well, also getting a leech after thinking that it would be okay. He pulls it off, even though you are supposed to burn them off since not doing it risks infection. Dan couldn’t find an idol. While the Kota tribe was together, Marcus and Jacquie had a showmance that Corrine disapproved of. While Sugar is on Exile Island, many people or just Corrine thought that she would do terribly.

Matty realizes that he loves his girlfriend, Jamie. Randy is upset that his dog died as he seems to care more about that dog than any other people. Marcus or Matty is upset that he lost his fourway. Some people really like fourways, but they don’t always work out. After the tribe swap, the Fang tribe blew getting good members yet again. Randy became a boon to his new tribe. People were upset when power player Jacquie was voted out of the game for being a member of the other tribe. Bob does a lot of things for his tribe. Corrine doesn’t like Bob that much or want to take him to the end.

On the picnic on the day of the double tribal council, Corrine continues to bitch about the people she is with since they annoy her greatly, to paraphrase a future player. They don’t even know what certain foods are that there are and are American ones. Sugar enjoyed her time at Exile Island so much so that she feels guilty that she gets to enjoy things her tribe doesn’t.

Sugar was duped into voting out her buddy Ace when she was lead to believe that he was gunning for her. She learns the truth later. Despite the fact that the hidden immunity idol could have saved them, both Randy and Marcus were voted out that night. Marcus was the very next person voted out of the game. But is the idol really gone? Corrine doesn’t think that Marcus deserved to be voted out. Bob made his fake idol in what Jeff called his first strategic move.

Corrine is annoyed when Sugar tries to straighten things out. Sugar is trying to be nice, but Corrine just does not like people like Sugar since she finds this person to be a freeloader. It seems like she is then venting to no one, but after hearing Randy’s voice, I realize that he’s there and wearing camouflage. She does not think that anyone in the jury would vote for Sugar. We are then reminded of the cookie incident as Randy wanted people to vote against him, thinking that he could save himself with an idol. But the idol that he got from Bob was a fake and Randy was voted out of the game.

On future Survivor episodes, it seems that something is on fire, there is a surprise for all of the players in the game, and interesting looking challenges. The men on a version of Kota are shown stripping and then jumping into the lake next.

Total confessional count: Corrine- 27, Bob- 14, Sugar- 24, Randy- 43, Charlie- 15, Marcus- 20, Michelle- 2, Matty- 24, Susie- 9, Ken- 20, Ace- 16, Crystal- 28, Gillian- 5, GC- 10, Jacquie- 1, Paloma- 3, Kelly- 4, Dan- 8. New confessionals this episode: Matty- 3, Susie- 2, Ken- 1, Ace- 1, Crystal- 5, Gillian- 0, GC- 0, Jacquie- 0, Paloma- 0, Kelly- 0, Dan- 1, Corrine- 7, Bob- 3, Sugar- 4, Randy- 4, Charlie- 0, Marcus- 1, Michelle- 0.

With not much else to add, I don’t think that there is much else to say this time around. If I’m able to finish watching Community soon, I will add Survivor: China to a new list and posts of it will come on all of the available Fridays in the future. But they aren’t all available, yet at least. I hope to explain more later and hope for the best with all these blogs of mine I have to juggle around each other. Look forward to more old seasons in the future. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
